Hey Sandy You mention that the warning light system may not be very accurate. Why don't you just use a gauge that is accurate for monitoring of temps and then a warning light for high temps. Jason what do you mean by progression holes in the right place, standard? I have at least 3 different tipo 40mm webers and the progression holes are all in different locations, some have 2 holes others have 3 holes, all are different diameters. I have seen images on the net of wenets with 5 progression holes. I assume the differences were for the original setup of carbs to suit particular engines from factory but not sure.

Yeah I have read different info on the net about drilling new holes but I don't know how you can be perfectly accurate. The progression holes are one of the only things you can't adjust or change on a Weber. Have you tried adjusting your accelerator pump length or spring. I figure that would provide some change. There was a thread on Ozdat raising interest for a run of 1600 heated front screens for $685 http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=34298&hilit=Heated+screen I understand they needed a minimum number of orders before they did the run but not sure what that magic number was or if Z screens are in stock??? For a z without A/C it's a good option for defogging the screen. Nice to see some old and meet some new Z'rs today, shame I was late and missed others. Was a nice day for a drive though. Cheers Mick

WTF. How does tyre sidewall height have any effect? As long as the tyres are the same side to side, the droop is still a function of suspension components (with a negligible portion due to tyre weight).

Stewart definitely does great work but I reckon these could be things you could do on your own with a couple ideas. Here's my heat shield. The ally section fixed to the rad was folded and welded professionally after I gave him a cardboard template. But the Payen exhaust heat shield was bought from Repco and was hand folded and fitted. The top was just squeezed between the two manifolds with a bit of hand forming and the lower fixing is just a bit of 25x25 ally angle and some ally plate cut, filed and bent to suit the engine mount. All up took me a couple hours and no special tools needed. It's the cheap, effective and rewarding option

I understand your concern with a $40k price hike over the next decade. I reckon that is quite likely considering the recent rise in toy cars. Have you got spare room in a dry shed and a couple grand burning a hole in your pocket? If so, you could strip and blast / deep the shell, treat it with rust converter and sealer then pop it in a rotisserie and leave the project till you had some more coin and time. This would help you to understand the full extent of the required repairs as well as any prospective buyers should the extent of work scare you off. Just a thought.

Apart from measuring low vacuum, are you having any unusual engine behaviour?

I reckon I would have shaved the lettering but I don't think it looks too bad. Without knowing the details, it looks to be a reasonable plenum size.

Support from people who would not normally support the Sharks. I think a lot of people supported them just for the fact they hadn't won a premiership.
