  1. Hey Alan are he wiper actuators still available? Will take them if so. Cheers Martin
  2. As someone nearing the end of a resto (#571), there's much fun and bolt hunting ahead of you. Taking the door shells, bonnet and hatch off and storing in another room will make reassembly so much easier because you'll end up getting in and out of the car about, oooh about a million times from here on in! Make a long list and enjoy the big black lines struck through each item as the car comes together. Will look a million dollars when done...
  3. Called and deal done on the carbs. Cheers John!
  4. Registering first interest in these. Pm sent Cheers Martin
  5. Yup Carbuilders and then finished it off with silver insulation ducting tape from bunnings...
  6. Not a fan of two-tone normally but that looks mighty fresh to me...
  7. I got a decent order through about a month ago. About $350 usd worth, nothing bigger than a glovebox inner and packed in a frankly oversized box. Cost $250 aud for delivery...
  8. Pm sent, Doug.
  9. looking for a complete set of carbs and manifold to fit my L28 with unknown cam and head shave. Leaning towards 45s, but what's out there? Anyone selling? Cheers Martin
  10. Cheers mate. Might be paying the price of mixing and not matching clutch components. Another job to add to the list...
  11. Guys Will be soon onto the clutch Reno part of my resto - 71 240Z I bought a new clutch slave cylinder which came without an actuating rod. When I test fitted it, there seemed to be too much gap between it and the clutch fork. Are there different length rods? It might also be a different throw out bearing causing the problem. If so, is there anything I can do to save dropping the gearbox to swap it?, ie make up a longer rod and keeping the bearing in place? Cheers
  12. Seats can be easily split between base and back, packed together and sent by ego. I had a set sent from Canberra to the Goldie and it was about $50 door2door. I got new covers from the states (ebay) for around $350. Seats often come up around the $100-150 mark for a pair...
  13. Registering interest in the carbs. Pm sent Cheers Martin
  14. Hey Rev I'm just around the corner from you (remember I bought the rear wheel bearings off ya). I have a 2-seater one you can borrow for a template. Pm if you still need it Cheers Martin
  15. So time to insure a couple of cars. #571 laid up cover @ 25k and a 205GTi Peugeot daily @10k. Shannon's came to $620 for the pair, Famous at nigh-on $400. Afaics, the Famous is the same cover as Shannon's (choice of repairer, salvage rights, windscreen etc) and the rep pretty much admitted they've modeled themselves on Shannon's. Underwritten by Callidens. Anyone have any experience with Famous (ie claim-wise)? Rang Enthusiast , didn't answer the phone and haven't rang back. And that's for a quote! Not a claim.
  16. Hi guys Looking to start setting up the suspension on #571 and as such need some bouncy bits. Ideally looking for 200-250mm long springs in either 200/225/250lb rates. Willing to consider ones not too far away from those figures. What's out there gathering dust on the shelves? Cheers Martin
  17. You have a fuel door on your washing machine? Fancy
  18. Just hand a look on some handles I have here, both 240 and 260. The springs on them are very different to this - much thinner and only one set of coils each side of the pivots. Have completely striped my 71 240z and can't remember seeing anything like this. Maybe that's why your washing machine is making such a racket...
  19. Marvellous info. Am now armed to go to a spring company and talk turkey,,, Any recommendations? King springs are the obvious. My struts are sectioned so I reckon 250mm are the go. Thanks again for the info, guys Cheers Martin
  20. So got a rough figure to chase but what's the ideal length of spring? 200, 250 or 300mm?
  21. Cheers guys, good advice. Thanks Gordo for putting some firm numbers down and experiences with them. Gives me something to aim for as a starting point
  22. So is harder front the go? Read plenty where they say softer front. Which way is best? I've sectioned the struts already with 300zx dampers that are shorter than the 240's and slightly firmer (so I'm lead to believe). Anymore views on rates, front and rear? Cheers Martin
  23. Thanks Cozza Any idea what the spring rate is with those?? My car is already set-up for coilovers so will be going with the 65mm id springs, not the standard size. Cheers
  24. Hi guys Today's question is spring rates on a 240z running a L28 and Rota 17x9 f & 17.5x17 r. Been doing some research but the waters get murkier the deeper you dive in. The car will be a weekend warrior mainly for fast road with the occasional trackday thrown in. Some say harder front, softer rear. Some say around 200lb/in front, others 450lb/in. All I know is that the Stig Is sweet fa helpful on this one. So who does know? Just looking for ballpark figures here. Ta in advance Martin
  25. Answered my own question. Move along, nothing to see here...
