  1. Hi there I'll shortly be fitting a new system to the Z and want to know if there's any easy method or tips for getting the extractors off the head. A couple of people have told me it's a right pig to get off. How do I make this task easier? Cheers Martin
  2. I use the car most days so am looking at getting them asap. Have been told of a third-party site that ships from the US to here, might be worth a go. Anyone have any idea what a set of four Rotas – packed and ready to go – weigh? They can be delivered within the US for $90 and then it's $8 a kilo (+ initial $24) from there to here. So if the set weigh say 20kgs all up, it'd be $620 + 90 + 24 + 160 = $894(us$) delivered here in Australia. Starting to look like a bargain...
  3. Hey, been looking at these Rotas on fleaBay ROTA RB-R WHEELS 17X7.5 & 8.5 4X114.3 +04 RHB 240Z 260Z http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300517046215&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123 and had the shipping quote as follows; Dear wildycurly, $500/set for shipping, if you buy 2 sets $800 - wheelbay These are just about the cheapest I've seen them ($1050 delivered) – would love to hear from you if you know of a better deal. If not, anybody in for joint shipping (I'm in Sydney)? Let me know, Martin (0466 380395).

  5. Guys Can we please be a little more positive here and not so quick to be anal? Yes, I did read this post all the way through. No, there's no mention of postal costs to NSW for the second-hand ones. Yes I did see the pictures, but they are of the set that got sold. So I'm naturally asking if the other two headers are the same make/condition. I'm on this site to learn more about these cars and to make my own car the best it can be, not because I've got nothing better to do with my time. Constructive criticism is great, nit-picking is best left to local councils... And after all this, I'm still non-the-wiser if the pipes are still for sale!
  6. Hi Raj I'm looking for a Z at the moment. Not sure this is the right car for me (or my bank account is the right size for you) but my offer will be considerably better than $5K! Give me a bell on 0466 380395 if you want to discuss. Cheers Martin
  7. I'm still in for the smaller widths. Is the price any cheaper due to the thinner rims? Whatever, I'm keen on the rims.
  8. What price for the group buy? I'd be in and willing to put the 50% down if the price is right...
  9. Just been onto Rota (Aus) and have the following prices: 17 x 9.5 (set of four) $1450 (delivered to Sydney) 17 x 9/ 17x 9.5 (two of each) $1350. Does anyone know of anyway to get these wheels cheaper?
  10. Any clues as who does them now? And cutting/welding and flaring is ok on standard height suspension or do I need to lower them?
  11. Yup saw these but couldn't see $2600 in my bank account...
  12. Now before you send bad karma down the line to me, I know that I could probably find my answer if I searched around the forum, but I seem to be spending most of my spare time driving/repairing/searching stuff about my '72 240Z. So to save my relationship, can anyone give me a simple answer to the wheel question; 16" or 17", standard springs or lower, and what tyre sizes to fit once I have the ZG flares on? I'm favouring 17's because tyres are much cheaper. I've been on to 18racing and they have quoted $1150 for Rota RB (17x7.5ft)and RBR (17x8.5rr) with +4 offset all round. Will these fit / look right (I've heard of -19 offset on rear) and is there anywhere that is doing these wheels for a better price? The price above includes delivery to Sydney. Any advice greatly reduces the nag ratio at home...
  13. Hi what make/condition are the headers you have for sale? And postage to 2107 Avalon NSW? Cheers Martin
  14. So if Ben can't get the Rotas, are there any other guys out there interested in a group thing? What are the options here? And while I'm on, what are the pros and cons for 16-inchers and the 17s? I'm planning on ZG flares, standard spring height rear, inch lower front, with 235/40 fronts and 225/40 rears on 17" rims. Am I missing anything obvious?
  15. Hey there What did you end up doing re the wheels? I'm looking for a set and was just looking for info on where/how to buy. Cheers
  16. Sound advice and much appreciated!
  17. Thanks for that. Will try to see the car before the end of the auction and bear those points in mind.
  18. Hey Ahead of you, well on the phone call front anyway. Have asked the owner all the questions someone with good mechanical knowledge does but have no proir dealings with the Z – looking for my first! Will be inspecting soon but wanted to go armed and informed to prevent myself being disappointed and broke down the track.
  19. Thanks for that. Has been engineered and registered (tho not currently). And it was on eBay just before Christmas (starting at $10K) but attracted no bids – hence the question about if it's worth the asking price.
  20. Hi there I've been looking for a 240Z/260Z for a while and have seen this on eBay – http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260716165542&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1623wt_1141 Any knowledgeable guys out there want to spill the beans on the worth of a 2+2 with an RB20 transplant? Apart from the killer rust issues, what are the main areas to focus on? Any help appreciated. Cheers Martin
