Hey buddy, Somehow I must have missed this welcome post. I am the guy that came and picked up the steelies off you to send down to Scoota. Good to see I can follow progress on your car on here now. I must admit guys the thing looks insanely nice in real life, the photos really don't do it justice.

I haven't even driven a 240z or 260z and have still dropped more money into my 2+2 then I care to think about and its not even painted yet Your car looks nice and I look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Alright. I might start putting some money aside just incase you decide to sell it in a month or 2. I have been trying to work out if I want to stroke my L28T as I have to do something about new pistons and rods anyway when I rebuild it so may as well go all out.

I have just got another spare head and block for parts that will be up for sale early next year. I am pretty sure it came from the 1975 260z 2+2 shown in the pictures attached as that car was built and belonged to my mates fiancé dad. The engine number is: L26 173838 Here are the details of the car I think its from (had L28 swap when sold with EFI). VIN - GRS30005552 Engine number - L28 666036 Trans - 3 SP AUTOMATIC I wouldn't mind actually knowing whats happened to the car just to let them know if anybody has any idea on it.

Yeah. The way I see it is that fender mirrors that are spring loaded (which means they bounce into position when knocked) and the adjustment is locked (the screw on the back you have to undo to move the glass) should be completely legal as long as theg are mounted in a position that is viewable through the windscreen that is cleared from the wiper blades which yet again is fine if mounted where the positions state on the forums.

I would love them but sadly can't afford them. I still think fender mirrors are legal reading through some of the ADR's 15.2.3. Adjustment 15.2.3.2. The exterior mirror situated on the driver's side must be capable of being adjusted from inside the vehicle while the door is closed, although the window may be open. The mirror may, however, be locked in position from the outside. 15.2.3.3. The requirements of paragraph 15.2.3.2. do not apply to exterior mirrors which, after having been knocked out of alignment, can be returned to their former position without the need for adjustment. That last bit to me reads that as long as its a spring loaded fender mirror that goes back into position when hit (which i believe these are) then they should be sweet. Also in the positioning section it mentions they must be placed either visible from the side window or through a section of windscreen that is swept by the wiper blade.

Have you tried rare spares?

so tempting, I am spending money on the skyline at the moment though and would prefer those over my chrome mirrors.

It's a great buy. I have a spare bonnet as well but the wife still said no, I will get my 2 seater one day.

yeah set me back around $1500 for my non runner from cairns to the Gold Coast. WA there is extra fees as well.

I saw a guy who sold a 2+2 awhile back was also selling a set of RX8 seats but was unsure if it was his plan to put it in the zed or not (same sale ad). Normally some seats pop up every now and then or post a wanted on the forums as I have had plenty of luck with forum members helping me out with parts.

I normally upload pictures to photo bucket or something, The file size restrictions on the website are abit limited. I was just wondering about the red car that was the only reason I asked.

I do have a set with my mirrors but will be interested in a set. Always need backups just incase.

Welcome buddy, My 2+2 came from Cairns and made its way down the Brisbane for its restoration thats happening now. This wasn't that red one that was for sale on gumtree that the guys wife wanted gone was it?

If it's only replacement lenses you need Klearz.com do quality work on repo ones.

I have seen those seats listed on yahoo auctions a few times and if i had a 2 seater would love a set.

I would go through Jesse but would have to see if the prices RHD japan are offering are an actual current sale from Kakimoto or just through RHD as its normally $977 for the exhaust.

I would be interested but too many parts in front of some tail lights. Would be interested in trying to see them fitted to a 2+2.

Thanks for that. That was one thing holding me back from my order as I was unsure if I would have to factor that in. Im pretty sure they invoice everything separately but its been awhile since I have ordered from them so I will double check before making the order. I will be looking to order a bunch of stuff from the US for the zed as well so keeping my orders under 1k (in parts) and making sure they only declare item value.

Just a quick question, I am about to order a new exhaust for my R32 through RHD japan. The exhaust cost is $730 yet it will be shipped through DHL for around $400. This will bring the total order over $1000 so will I still have GST fees and duty to pay on this? I thought I saw somewhere that it was worked out on not only item cost but postage cost as well.

They have to make things a pain don't they. I am going to try hunt down a 5 speed wood gearstick knob but from what I have found so far they aren't exactly easy to track down so I might have to get a repo and just colour match to that as you suggested.
