  1. Out of curiosity which engineer is he using Phil? As Mark says, Hilux and R31 combo should be enough. If he wants to use R33 then this is an option: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13582-r33-gts-t-calipers-onto-a-240now-completed/
  2. I hear VW is working on a rotary, they reckon they can get it through emissions
  3. Awesome Lurch! What's the middle air duct under the front bar for.....looks like its directed up under the manifolds to keep the inlet temps under control?
  4. Yep, awesome engine for sure. Cant wait to drive it.
  5. From the photos I would say that's one of the best condition original cars I've seen.......very well done! Just a little lime green with envy.
  6. Top work Jeff, keep at it!
  7. I would be keen after seeing how it fits a 240.
  8. Great job mate. How clean does everything need to be...ideally? Do the clean plater's clean everything in a hot tank of some kind or is it preferred that you supply everything as clean as possible already? I could media blast every piece before sending for plating but is this required or overkill?
  9. I looked into dipping as well but too many people said that the problem is that you cant get rid of the alkaline solution where the panels join.
  10. Welcome Hamish. As George say, there is plenty of help here if you call out. Good luck with it.
  11. Awww.........that's just rubbing it in!!! Well done.
  12. Thanks Gong....you beat me to it!
  13. I'm not a rotor head but this guy really deserves respect. Very techy read but worth it if you're that way inclined. http://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-294/4-rotor-fc-build-974831/
  14. I'm in, may bring something on a trailer.
  15. Geeze, I've got one of these too.......must fish it out and clean it up!
  16. Thanks guys. I've read good things about Vinneys and Star quality. Cheers
  17. Anyone got a recommendation as I hear so many conflicting reports from everyone I ask! Thanks

Grout filling the lower part of the cylinder cooling jackets....improved rigidity.
  19. I admire Jack but he is going to struggle to retain his seat at LCR. Last night was shades of Anthony West, first opportunity to show everyone what he can really do.....but brain fade got in the way. He came from way too far back for that to have been a legitimate overtaking manoeuver, I reckon he missed his braking marker and left it too late to go to the outside so was committed to the inside with obvious consequences.
  20. Hi Gav. I used these ones, not cheap but they don't drill through Both panels and if you keep the speed slow they last really well.
  21. Sold already! Bit of a story....... Mat bought it from QLD sight unseen many years ago......the purchaser is the guy who he bought it from, so its going back to QLD and to the previous owner. Apparently the new/original owner isn't active on here but someone tipped him off. Who was it? David
  22. Posting this for a good friend. Car is a late 72 matching numbers 240. Was originally lime green and if it was still lime green it would be in my shed! Without putting it on a hoist it looks structurally pretty good, floors, rails, radiator support, slam panel and battery tray area. Has visible rust in the doors. Front guards, sills and dog legs have been repainted in a slightly different colour but no visible rust. Has Recaro seats in it but he has original seats as well. Interior is otherwise original except radio. I didn't start or drive it but should be good. Asking $15,000. has club plates, no reg though. Call Mat 0417 553 224
  23. So based on Taylor's recommendation I had a another go at this and it wasn't too bad. When I tried yesterday I just didn't use enough force, unfortunately you do need to start at the join which is on the bottom edge and that's where the most rust is and where they are the hardest to shift. Working from the inside with the garnish on some towels to support and protect it, I used a large flat blade screwdriver and a hammer as a drift and worked back and forward on the bottom edge for a fair while before it started to move. Once it was fee on the bottom edge it was much easier as the sides and top had little rust holding it in place. Getting them back on without damaging the paint will be a challenge so I'm contemplating making a tool to open the trim up a bit. David
