  1. You missed a good one Sushi... Andrew Lee Fairlady Z 3.1 Stroker is now part of the Qld gang, nice car and new owner.
  2. Yeah... nah... yeah... it would be good but it been uphill for me, got so many other things to do with the car, will try again down the track. Will have to jump in your car on the hot days! I've got the car going so come along to some JDM thing tonight Sushi... Date: Tuesday 10 January 2012 Meet at DFO Jindalee upper carpark at 6.30pm. DEPARTING 6:45pm SHARP. Arriving at Queensland Raceway approx 7:15pm. We will be using the short-track drift area to park up, behind the canteen. ... sick
  3. Hey guys I'm moving so time to empty out the garage a little: -240Z full carpet set (new), Cost $260 from All Z Parts, started to fit left sill - it should still be fine, comes with clip attachment instructions $180; -240Z center console (not new:), has crack along bottom of radio, but have had it sprayed and honestly you really wouldn't know $40; -240/260Z Air-Con, am going to go without, silly seeing I'm in QLD! $80. Can ship at buyers cost. Cheers.
  4. Got a few things going on with the car but at the moment the hardest part to figure out is the rear end! I've bitten the bullet and bought the Modern Motorsport shortnose R200 conversion kit. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been easier to just wait for a good ole longnose to turn up... but that's the fun I guess. It should be good as you can find whatever ratio VLSD shortnose for a few hundred bucks. Took the kit down to a wrecker mate and thank god the American Q45 diff is the same as our R200's so the kit will fit, but am having real trouible getting a stub/axle solution. Todd at Wolf Creek says that a standard 5 hole longnose R200 stub won't fit into his axles (as they need to be the right stubs to make a VLSD work), I've got some 300zx turbo axles here, not too sure if they are part of the solution, maybe I should go shortnose R180... arrrgh any suggestions would be veeery welcome!
  5. Oh geez I made a mess! Did you get any nice bits for your car? Edit: just read your build thread!
  6. Ahh that's okay, they weren't meant to be I'll check about 260 flanges but there is also these guys who sell flanges: http://www.chequeredflagracing.net/Datsun.html I'm not using Modern Motorsports as their service was disgusting (got the shortnose R200 kit but communication was shocking added with a $70 charge for handling I didn't know about)! At the end of the day it is (more) common to use the 300zx axles on the longnose R200 (with flanges say, from link above) on Zeds. So I might just sell them to help fund some Wolf Creek axles, hoping they can change one end of their axles to fit R33 R200 (5 bolt), bring on the traction control! The 300zx axles are good too, but I'm sure your old mate knew to turn the actual axles around to fit in Zeds properly? http://www.modern-motorsports.com/xtrainfo/z31-cv-conversion.pdf
  7. Jason I could be interested in the "trail arms comp flanges" if you will seperate. Got myself in a right bind as I have a shortnose kit, 300zx CV axles and now have to either continue with them (with your help maybe) or just go Wolf Creek instead! If I count the hours I've spent thinking about this it'd be in to the weeks! All suggestions about "my issues" welcome

    Big Wednesday's 2012

I might not be on the track as I'm too much of a wooss, but knowing when you guys are racing could be a good day to come along and join in the shiver. A few of the Road Warriors came to a track day or two this year, it was a good day out.

    LD28 Crank

Thats not a bad idea, specially as you have triples already don't you d3c0y?

    LD28 Crank

Thanks Ben, that is yet another little thing to consider with 3.1/3.2's, think I'll think about turbo or stroker again in the new year, too hard! The 44 Extrudabody ITB's were 2k and prob another 3 to 400 to land them here, Kevin is very good to deal with.

    LD28 Crank

I wish mate, I still have the 2.6 wheezing all over the place! Just thinking about 3.1 but its so much more expensive!
  12. come on... is this not style right here? 8 track groove thing medalion love car! Ok maybe a little yuck but still have to say, just a little cool!
  13. Ok ok I'm going to suggest these as they are a little larger and with the right profile tyre, these could look pretty schmick... http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/25-1087 I've seen a few Zeds on-line with these done right.
  14. He looks the goods, thanks Paul I'll give him a call.
  15. Velvet sledgehammer! Do you know anyone with a RB torque plate by chance...
  16. "Hello Fat Gearboxes - they're big and they're flimsey". Can't shove a gearbox in a show bag, or down a clown's mouth for that matter (although you'd want to). I've demonstarted the MultiTool, Vslicer, Swiss Vege Peeler, mops, juicers and all sorts of crap as a kid. By the time the poor suckers got home most of it would have fallen apart, fun times. There was a pulley that was demonstrated at A & P shows, you'd lift an engine block up and down with it, that'd be good for all your gearboxes!
  17. I'd say semi-gloss.
  18. Get me a gearbox you old bugger! Happy Birthday Jason
  19. Dat2Kman is on to the gearbox caper every time lol, so much so I think I have become programmed to ask about gearboxes on your behalf! Welcome Peter, look forward to the piccies.
  20. Their price on oil coolers was a little better, around $250. They are just a up the road from me so I'll pop in one day... and sqeeze past the twelve row haha!
  21. I have no idea Benny, I'm pretty sure he said 12, I just ran with it. I could have been suffering from shock!
  22. Just rang PWR... $850. It is a 12 core apparently, but still... $850.

    l28 turbo

Good to hear your thoughts Jason, if the chassis can handle it all well and good. I might be going for a n/a stroker but the extra cost and time of getting it right will be increased, plus I need to find the rare LD crank! If I do... my intercooler, piping, turbo and manni will be up for grabs. Also have a series one HKS plenum - rocking horse shiver!
  24. I got two 215x45x16's if that's an option. Brand new $100.
  25. First drive, awesome!
