    LD28 Crank

Okay cheers Pete, it's a whole long motor being parted so I'm guessing it should be fine for a little strokin
  2. I've got my eye on a LD crank but just wanted to be sure - a LD crank is an LD crank is an LD crank? There are no differences are there? Any other things to look out for would be great fellas. Cheers, Case.

    l28 turbo

I'd be interested in fixing up the L20. The S30 chassis is 40 years old, light and not the strongest. To sure the car up properly you may need chassis extensions, sill strenthening, cross-members/strut-bars... the list goes on http://alteredz.com/structuralmods.htm If your after 300atw (a nice number) there's every chance a well sorted L28 turbo will turn that lovely 240 into spagetti! Maybe a smaller L20 turbo would be more suitable for a car that is so light it'll go like stink anyway??

    l28 turbo

I'm gathering the parts for an L28 spinner at the moment, F54 block, N42 with larger exhaust valves, 280zx turbo manifold, after-market EFI etc. When you look at building a turbo the L series lend nicely to boost as they come with a low comp anyway. Further tweaking with choice of pistons and gasket is all you need. Sure there is RB and SR power, but to me the L series was a big part of what made the Zed so good - so having the L with turbo push seems the best of both. SR weight advantage is tempting though!
  5. 50/50 wheather: http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/forecasts/brisbane.shtml
  6. Just turn the dash upside down? Damn now the strut bars won't work either
  7. Check these guys out if you haven't already: http://www.pdkfabrication.com/Dash.htm They have a nice dash alternative and the strut bars look pretty serious too, especially the front - about as far as you could go with Bolt On I say!
  8. Get that Z ready man!
  9. Wow... thanks for that. The age for diving eyesight tests does not need to be reduced!
  10. Yeah this is going to be a top day, I have a few questions and hopefully a few suggestions. Sushi where is the list you speak of, in the other thread?
  11. Those wheels look pretty tough, coming along well mate.
  12. Holy crap, just read the thread - makes up for all the chickies we don't have on the forum... and then some!
  13. Hi Gary, Been thinking about a few of your engine bay pics posted on Nov 19. That black frame attached into the corner of the frame rails and radiator support... that could be a top spot for an air con condenser? They have trick ones with their own fan that can be put pretty much anywheres: http://speedyairspares.com.au/products/Hot_Rod_Condenser_with_12V_Fan_Truck_Ute_Machinary_Fridge_Vans_MANY_applications_EXCELLENT_CONDENSER-35-162.html
  14. Haha yes that could be true, would Miss Dallas let some fella touch her Zed
  15. Bit of an aside here, great that your chickie is watching in support again, mine won't go near the garage... hang on!
  16. Haha that was a good laugh for a Tuesday morning, many thanks
  17. Gary that's a great intro and a pretty interesting build for the GT as well, been a long time getting the old girl back! There's a few QLD members who are getting together in early December, you're more than welcome to come along: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,10182.0.html

  20. This has to be the quickest mod ever! First post on Oct 31 and you prob have new driveline, engine and brakes etc before xmas! This is not possible Awesome Scoota.
  21. Hah! Perfect.
  22. Exciting times! Good luck with it Jamo
  23. Hey Rob, To be honest I couldn't say how much the springs have been lowered, but I know they are King springs. When I got the car the springs were already put in by Pedders in 2006. The original rims came with something like 65 profile tyres, looked pretty shiver. I had 225x45 GT Radials with the 16inch rims thrown on, and it's sitting as it is now. Definitely 1 inch, prob a little more I reckon.
  24. Cheers Simon, thought I'd put a few proper pics up as I've been a member for a few years and not really put any up. Dish. Is. Good. But I think you can get two lip types, these ones seem to be missing a curve and are flat straight out from the actual centre. Kind of hard to describe but if you see older Simmons they have, well an extra curve. Haha, I'll give up now! Hey Matty, yes it was in there for a fair while all in all. Must have been around six weeks, maybe more. Should have paid rent
  25. Good advice to hear, T.A.P and Scoota for Agno's sake, also that I'm going to try and put AC in through the console hole soon. Will be keen to see how you go Agno.
