Qld Slicks for sale suit 15" diam rims
dat2kman replied to dat2kman's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
All now sold -
ideal will be a 225/50 x 15, however as these are +4 offset, compared to the performance brand 'superlites" ( super bloody heavy's if you ask me, at -4 mm) the Rota's may?? rub on the front strut legs/spring perches, nothing longer wheel studs and affixed spacers wont fix. The rears in Rota will clear the lips od the guards fine, the performance ones require the guard to be lip rolled or trimmed Now that i see these Rota's are +4, I am not able to use them, however I have a mate with a 910 sedan with group C flares that may be interested, i will let him know about your possibility?? of selling them. I reckon the "transpot" guy hasn't a clue, Ben from Otomoto would not sell thes in Aus if they were not DOT approved, even DOT approved in other countries is /should be acceptable in Aus Try Craig Hornibrook in Geebung, he is a low overhead retailer of very good motor sport tyres. i recommend Kumho V710 or V700 for track work, they wont last long as daily drivers though!

5-6-7 Nov Targa High Country come have a look plenty of dattos
dat2kman replied to danrace260's topic in General Discussions
bit late here but farrgitt, I had an absolute ball, had a few "Ooohhh Oohhh Oooohhh" momnets on the downhill runs with a bit of late breaking and understeer onto the gravel edges on the outside of a couple of corners, that was enuff, so backed off a bit. My class, I was the ONLY one, so I won my class, big deal it was DEMO, which meant not elegible, but apparently my entry money was elegible!! On our way down called into George Fury's ( Mr God to all Nissan folk!) farm for 3 hours, he was ecstatic to see it again, and dropped by at DMS Suspension Jamie Drummond, he was very pleased with the work done to bring it back to it's "as rallied" spec in 1986. He has even given me a whole new set of suspension for it, updated to 2010 specs! At each stop on the event I had many people come up and ask about it, It is in next edition of Unique Cars mag, it made the Wangaratta Chroniclem the Albury Wodonga Border MAil, and the online Rallysport newsletter/mag. Funniset thing was on first stage through Mansfiled our comms failed, and there was noy bloody way i could hear Dave ( nav) giving me the calls, it was a case of three fingers two fingers one finger and either point left or point righ and hammer the thing through. Someone came up to us after the Sat run up Buller and said, "Now we know what 9000 rpm in a FJ24 sounds like, thank you kindly!!" Car still has rally/dirt spec suspension so pleas all excuse the impressive body roll, and no the back axle is not parting company, it is just the articulation of the six link rear end arms -

QLD: Race cam shaft - make some real HP
dat2kman replied to d3c0y's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
Is there a stamped number(s)/letters on the back of it? Does the lobes have tiny small drilled holes ie an internal oiled cam rather than the early spray bar type ( no holes on lobes or tower bearing area? Hey, how come if ther is no cam spec/timing sheet you can remeber the tech details on it!!! I cant remeber what I did yesterday let alone engine tech, I have to have it recorded in journals for each car I have! I will ask my engine guy what he thinks, re its specs as quoted above. yes I think i might have to give you your money back, and give you the head and do swaps on the cam, I will let you know. BTW which weekend you planning to come up?? I am busy this w/end spraypainting the 120Y rally car, I got accepted into Targa High Country in it, we are car number 520, so I now have to a bit of work and finish it off! -
I didnt take the pics, mate did, Pete Hall never made it, Both the Z boys did ok, results on Natsoft, Siddins was taking it easy' cos he is taking the car down to some little car rally tarmacky thingy somewhere In Victoria, in November, and he didn't want to bendy it all up !

QLD: Race cam shaft - make some real HP
dat2kman replied to d3c0y's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
Who/Which company supplied this, what model is it, and has it been used. Was it ground on a aftermarket Billet, or is it a regrind on a stock Datsun Camshaft, and the supplier is saying it is a Billet stick ( Datsun have not produced billet blanks for a very long time !! ) Pm me a scan of its spec sheet and I will talk to my engine guy. -
John mcKeons red and yellow weapon, and, jon Siddins's, replica 'works" 240. Both Qlder's having a play at 2010 Speed on tweed, BTW McKeons car is still available to purchase, and Jon Siddins had been accepted for Targa High Country Nov 5-7th based around Mansfield Victoria.

sonic is well worth it, saves spending heaps only to have something poke out the side, and, a smart machine shop may be able to offsett the bores to keep away from thin spots. if block is n42, plenty wall thickness, BUT check first. I have seen anything from 3mm to 7mm bore to water jacket in the one block Back in olden days, a certain workshop would go through approx 20 blocks (talking L20B four cylinder) to find a "good" one, with no sand core shift, and then punch it out bigtime, and a crank stroke to whack out 2350cc's in a L20B donk, running twin 48dcoes, etc etc, but ya gotta check first!!!
-
Not quite, the list on the left is early 240 z 3 peice, also used in datsun Sports 2000's known as a 71A the list in the middle is early 260z known as a 71B the list on the right is late 260z, some 280ZX pretty well all 240k's, early Skylines, most L20b engined bluebirds etc, it has the big gap between 2 and 3 also known as a 71B there is a early 280zx box that has a 3.06 first, and some truck/commercial boxes have 3.59 first, this was done by altering the input drive/driven ratio gearset by a tooth or two. The later RB type boxes are the sameratio ( except fifth gear) as the later 71B box, but with internal differences for strenght and other shizz.

rb20/rb30 gearboxes and close ratio gear sets -Brisbane
dat2kman replied to dat2kman's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
RB20/30 box are same overall length as a stock L series box from a 260/280 z, so you keep your stock tailshaft, which is good. No need to rebalance tailshaft! Just a box? price is $400 for a RB complete box. To make it fit into a Z I will need you to supply your old L series B type box, or get one from an old Bluebird or 240k/Skyline etc that has a L motor 4 speed or 5 speed it must be, I just can't do it to an Auto Box !!. I then machine and make the L bell fit into the RB cluster , I bolt it on and you bolt it in. You will need to mod the box xmember, i will show you what and how ( very simple !). For that i charge some dollars/beers/bottles of nice stuff etc for labour and machine milling and lathework and imparting knowledge and wisdom. Depending on what you want to do with the car, if used as a daily driver and nice long drives, you do not need to cahnge your diff. if you want to play weekend warrior and do some sprints/trackwork, I suggest you ugrade to say a 4.3 LSD diff, which I can supply, and if budget stretches, consider a nice brand new close ratio gearset for the RB box. No question is too difficult! hope this helps! jason -
These are not cheap budget items, if you are gonna question re hilux vs these, just go hilux, simple and easy. if you want true period authentic, these are the original Nissan Option parts. I can supply a 2 piece vented disc ( hub and disc assy) at $1150 AUD a set The calipers are vented at $1270 AUD a set, the pads are $380 AUD a set in the race compound. i can also get the S30 stock caliper pads in race compound, they work quite well There is stock of pads and seal kits, and vented calipers, but non vented ( straight bolt on to stock disc) is almost NLA Guy has most reamaining stock left in the world. Also can source the race pads for most other older Nissans. also has rare factory vented rotors for older GC110/210 Skylines and 240K's, with the Sumitomos being fritted to these for Jap Domestic racing duty Hilux Sumi's are not the same, but close, and pads wont fit. Brake pad shops dont seem to be able to supply race compounds for Hilux, best option is a h/d 4wd pad, and watch when they fade!

I can vouch for these tyres, they are the Shizz. If you woz in Brissie I would take them ( freight is a bugger) BTW what size is rims, and offsett?? And how old are the Kumho's?

Some planned changes to the Marque Sports Rules
dat2kman replied to PZG302's topic in Racing Your Car
260det, spot on, i have tried to foster interest in Group S historics with some of the Z guys in Qld, to no avail, and yes when the Eiro Trash with all their vented discs and fat wheels and low profile tyres come barnstorming, it doessn't give much satisfaction. We can show in our Option Parts catalogues that we did have this stuff avail, but the rules of CAMS says No, Cant be done. So My Z is for sale, and it will prob end up as a Tarmac car, and will be quite a nice set up for that. pzg302, it would seem that the rules are having an attempt at change by a group that is predominated by one make ( Mazda MX5 ?? ) So they should, The Marque Sports fields I see at Wakefield/Bathurst and Eastern Creek, are in the main backmarkers of MX5's, and up front is mega dollar exotica studff. totally unobtainaable by the average Joe. Oh and by the way, thanks for giving me the gig in your Z for the one hour enduro at Morgan Park raceway on Sept 24/25, Qld guys should come on up and have a look see. Matt fill us all in in the Qld events section! -
Can supply complete Sumitomo MK63 calipers in both vented and non vented style, Also Brake pads, "K2" brand to suit with temp range from 0 to 500 deg celsius - Street , or, 30 - 700 deg celsius - Race! . Also MK63 caliper rubber seal kits, and no they are not HiLux/Landcruiser, they are original Nissan Parts with the rather odd piston seal ring! Prices will vary de to fluctations in exchange. Delivery in approx 10-14 days via Aus post Only doing this 'cos I found a sick puppy that can, and I needed it all for the George Fury 120Y, on the BACK axle, the front brakes are a gazillion times ginormously bigger! best to pm me with your exact? details/requirements
