  1. That is Wayne Potts's ( ex NSW) old 260, he sold it late last year to Jeff Thomas, at apprx $37,000. It was on the market amongst the historic guys for only a couple of weeks! Jeff is having a crack at running in the historic group S mob, after having played with Porsches for a while, one could say he has seen the light! I'm gonna sell my 280 Zionist, would make a good Tarmac car, with allowed brake upgrades, or leave as is and you could play amongst the top front runners in the hysterical mob $45k package with spares and plenty enuf rims tyres etc
  2. Or, maybe, due to some rather recent event mishaps, including a death, mid event, that there are some issues with entrants and their families "testing" the claims process and red tape of AASA, and finding some difficultys. The two bodies (cams-AASA) operate quite differently, yet their ultimate underwriter of insurance is one and the same, it is in the process that there is a major difference. And yes the possibility of a mutt event discount seems valid enough to cause a change. Just wait for the red tape and regulation police to now strike, at least with AASA it was quite " loose"
  3. Anyone in Newcastle Sydney area heard of a yard full of old Datsuns " sports" type cars and possibly other makes? It is on the road just past the Williamstown air force base which is off Tomago Nelson bay roads? A fellow traveller here in my o/seas trip just mentioned it, he reckons it is mainly older Datsuns and sports cars??? It is clearly visible from the road apparently, lots of long grass, it is a private property and not a wrecking yard/ commercial operation Some pics and a heads up could be useful for some on here?? Dave1600 have you any knowledge on this?
  4. Opportunistic? If that's what NOS items for pre 1970 cars are going for, I am sitting on approx $300,000 worth of early Datsuns Sports/Fairlady parts I call " reserve not met" -reposted
  5. Greg, have a look at getting front springs in the 300 lb or above, the usual suspects, ie King, Eibach, Selbys Fulcrum will sell approx 260 lb, just not enough, and yes other will jump on and say way to high, but, anyway that's my suggestion, oh, and just do one change at a time, and test test test, keep records, lap time charts, tyre pressure charts, tyre choices, track day temps, all in a kids type school exercise book. Enuf secret tips for now!
  6. Oh, and Lurch, did Matty have a chance to read my pm re you and he visiting my place with my son, for a lookysee at my shed?
  7. I find the only way to avoid oil spewing cars and things spinning in front of me is to just pull the finger out and overtake them, as I usually do. Sounds like all you guys had a ball Any lap times? Nothing on bayside, then again I am in Amsterdam, about to board the river cruise boat heading to Bucharest. Oh yes the red light district is a real eye opener, absolutely amazing, especially for the single fellas
  8. At left is a group s historic production sports car, one of the quickest in the country, and for sale, fuel injection all sorted out, flows quite nicely, bolt on a set of 8x15's, and some slicks, upgrade brakes and you would have a reasonable marque sports class race car., or leave as is and you have a top ten finisher in most events. Or if you want to win spend $250,000 on 911Porsche group s race car. Our Datsuns are a lot less costly!!!,
  9. No worries, I got one I can sell, only driven on weekends, and only five or six times a year, fresh engine, box an diff, pretty good suspension too, no rust, full strip resto, oh it comes with some non STD items, like a roll cage, and sorry no registration, but some littl books with CAMS stamps on them! Little bit more than the usual stock pricing, then again it is one of the quickest STOCK production sports cars in the country!
  10. So close to home, it's a bugger I'm just so far away for this! You guys have a good time, event report required!! Posted from an iPad idiot in Spoleto Italy!!
  11. And how were those second hand semis compared to your old rubber!!!! Still have some more avail in case anyone else wants some not so second hand second hand hobbies!!
  12. Someone on here on here sent me a email rather than a pm via this site, and as I am overseas ATM my email service is a bit dodgy, but as I know I can 100 percent rely on Auszcar site as a public forum for members I know that if whoever emailed me reads this about my cr boxes he will re message me I get back to Brisbane on July 22nd
  13. FOSC are running their Easter race meet, this time as a cars and bikes meeting, no, we won't be racing together, but events for historic touring and sports cars, ipra , regularity, marque sports and others. Should be the usual ( what is the collective noun???) bunch of Zeds Couple of queen slanders are coming down, including the giant killing tiny dasun sports 2000, fresh from a tour of the easterns seaboard.
  14. Anyone find out what dollars they is asking?? Now I got a choice to make Either a 2010ex Nismo r35gtr full race car at 12 million yens, or this!! With our pacific peso doing so nice to the usdolla, it is tempting, although I reckon the jp figure is on shootout mode on that dyno Ahem
  15. And now all you need to have a crack at is full flag to flag racing in that liteweight lime green 240 track car!!! After some7 years of supersprints ya have ta man up big fella!! Official welcome, and YAY, another queen slander
  16. On gear calc, I'm doing about 240 before I ease off, dab the brakes just to make sure I have something, and then slot back to fourth so i have motive drive through the turn 1 genlte right, yes it is a bit of a brick wall re frontal area, as we have discussed prior! surprisingly the cars are not too 'floaty" but you do get the sensation of light steering, couple of times it twitched through T1, and a bit of steer correction is bneeded. You'd love a Sc S30? buy my blue thing, it's for sale, but it would be more fun as a Tarmac car, as Rob Devenish is trying to covince me to set it up for that, and give Sc away. Why do you think I love driving the T car, only 'cos I can, in the GroupS mob, so much fun, and I just tool around the track even if I have to play with the quick porkers and DeTomato's and Alfa GTV's and occaisional Z car. The blue/White was Wayne Pott's, ( ex James Flett) it seemed to sell very quickly, at 30 or 35 k$, new owner has to get to grips with Sc racing but!
  17. lurch and mods, I will vouch for 24dat, he is well known to me, does a lot of local club motorsport, could we please give him access. He was not aware of the nodus operandi here! He owns 4s30 and a early 2seats130 Dimitri, if it happens that David (24dat) is your buyer,, he is good for any transaction.
  18. OH NO I am so confused, my brain hurts. seriously I am not very electronic savvy and I have a severe eyesight problem, but yes they still let me race, differnet issue though it is with with very close work i am having fun with, ie pc keyboard, but I use a 22 inch monitor! I am hunting desperatley for a pair of "Loupes" ? Loupes, are what a dentist wears when he is gazing into your gaping maw as he attacks your fangs, sort of mini telescopes on a pair of glassed. Anyone got some they can let me have, yes I am getting annoying, and grumpy
  19. Actually I did, I bought a MiCam 508 lipstick cam with a mini dvr, the week prior, but am still trying to learn how to use it, what with my impediments and all, managed to get the last race in full, it is on a SD card, and no matter how much i try to hit the little plastic SD card into the tiny slots for the usb's on my pc with my estwing builders claw hammer, it wont go in!

Lots of other NICE old cars also got pics of - Zama DNA Collection Hall !
  23. Whatever it was that was in it last Sept for the 2010 Prodsports 1 hour worked quite well Do you recall what these were. I am concerned at the 540 temp rating of the Blue's! I am a bit confused at the Hawk catalogue with all the variants they have. Please advise oh wise one
  24. Dimitri, Tim, Peter and Amanda, great to catch up with you all, I had lots of fun squeezing out the DeTomaso and the Porsches, best was a fifth o/r on Sund morn. ( I was up into 2nd outright on lap 2 on Sund arvo, but got Honda wrong, and ended up 6th Ggrrrr Peter thanks for the fj cams, they are with Wade's to see if we can weld them and regrind them to suit the Fury 120Y Darren House from NDSOC, and Chris Samuels, from Nissan Australia Public relations Dept, caught up with me took some pics and both are doing a write up in the Victorian club magazine and the Nissan in house newsletter/magazine, on the Datsun Sports 2000. Tim any pics of the action in the Group Sc guys? Once again, great weekend and a great buncj of lads and lasses from Vic. Rob Devenish spent the day with me before I went down to the track, planning our world beating assaults an all the Targa and dirt rally events for 2011!
  25. look at getting the front stubs braced, for better tutn in, the flip flop onto the front straight will be easier to manage, also lets look at some more pads, and pre fitt them prior to event, and some fresh round black goanna flatteners. your lazy truck motor should not be pumping out that much water, yes try slowing pulley speed, otherwise a recovery tank with an overflow bottle is needed. links to timing website, and any pics of the action, and utubeies ? well done. rmember be consistent, to finish first, first you must make the finish.
