A long time ago, i had a Rickman Kawasaki KH500, the stock Kwaka frame was known as a "flexi frame" the steering head would wobble relative to the mainframe tubing. Rickman in UK made a exchange frame with added bracing to stiffen, and swing arm was stiffened. It had "Clip -On" handlebars, ie two seoarate bits of handle bar, that clamped directly to upper forks under top headstock, single mono seat, no pillion pegs, a bikini fairing that did nothing, a 7" headlamp poking out front. Best of all was the KH 500 spcc two strole triple, nothing until 8000 rpm, then hold the pharque on till recline at 12000 Your bike needs the mono rear pod lowered, get the back flattened down, a pair of clip ons, and a tiny little fairing. Get a copy of the original Mad Max movie, the so called bikers in that, a few had some nice examples. I lusted after a Suzuki Katana, mates later had Kwaka Z1R Mk11's , i ended up with a Kwak Z900, then got a bit older, wanted more comfort and gota Yammie 1100cc Virago cruiser, bloody thing wouldnt go round corners, but at least my bum was comfy. Weirdest one was a Honda CX500 V twin across the frame, when you cracked the throttle mid cirner, due to flywheel inertia, it would either stand up or lie over, depending on which way it leant. That Honda is a rare one, well done for getting a hold of it!

Pretty simple, when you understand jst what is involved cost and time wise in getting something manufactured, do you go for a style that only a very few might just buy, and be stuck with a wharehouse full of stock, all because someone said they like a particular look, or, do you bite the bullet, place an order, get tooling set up, machining processes in p,ace, areange all shipping, and get made something that is a timeless classic, well known, and desired by many. To get wheels made, there are minimum job runs, you are looking at at least a run of 400 pieces, to make it anywhere near worthwhile. How big is your garage, to store the other 396 wheels, and is there a market for the riverge? Interesting that the two bolts from ball joint to bottom of strut snapped clean? No indication of fretting to holes in ball joint, clean double snap means a fairly hard hit.

Richo, not enough speed in that section for aero to have unloaded the back end. It was too wide through that corner, marbles, dust, whatever, it just got loose. More power and a bit of oppo lock could have held it, but at that point it is very much like canyon racing between walls.

Having raced full circuit a bit, the run up mountain straight is fun, when the rear get airborne over the hillclimb start line. The vid shows pretty clearly that the car was about 3 metres off line, going into corner before, marbles, dust, no rubber on road, annoying thing, you have visual going into that corner when racing, you come into it, look over top of wall on LHS, and can see the cars in front. Coming off of skyline, (blind crest) after the finish line is the undies moment, when someone in front has pirrouetted. In Toyota parlance, BUGGER!

So what class are you in? Your car is logbooked? If not, youd be in "invited sports cars" with engine capacity Kev would be in 2A as his car is CAMS logbooked as aa 2A sports, ie sports car highly modified. Then there is 2B, sports car, very mild mods, then 2F stock standard prod sports. Other sports car category, if a car is on a list, and is old enough, but still as produced by factory, with mild allowances, is Historic Group S, and depending on year of manufacture, it has sub catagory Sa, Sb, Sc. Good thing about so many classes, categories, engine sizes, just about everone is the "winner" of some trinket or award

Well done 260DET, good choice, a bit compact in the rear, but with seats folded it'll fit all you need. Next task is a trailer! Have a look at the simple flat floor types some of the drift boys are using, quite minimal bits and pieces compared to the ones from Chris at Jimboomba, who does a lot of the Qld race and rally guys. My tow units,have been anything, including HQ Holden sedan, XF Falcon sedan, a Nissan E20 LWB urvan with a six cylinder fitted, then a Toyota Hiace, all petrol, all thirsty. Then to deisel only, the silver Landcruiser is the best all rounder, but large, the Transit vans in short wheelbase/low roof, are huge and perform very well, but the Hino 10 tonner was a ripper, no speed limiter and a 3.9 diff, cruised nice at 100k's, press the pedal and she'd scoot past BDoubles up the Pilliga, at 145 kmh! , drama was licensing, and high annual rego. No, sorry Matt, the forge moulding on these is at 15x9, and by time backface has been trued up, they are at neg 13 mm. They will fit under the Z style flares quite easily, as well as fitment to the Hachi AE86 Toyota's with a gaurd lipping and stretch tyre fitment. Legal? Roll guards further! The.
