  1. Nice You'll need that extra support with all the mods, it'll go lika a rocket and handle like a gokart!
  2. Looks great mate, are those Bride's as comfy as they look? I like the new front spoiler, is it urethane? Well said Bruce..... I'll second that, you'll be amazed when you get that fresh motor in. Peter's work is second to none.
  3. Best wishes Rev for a safe and happy trip.
  4. Wow, great price! By the looks of them I'm guessing they aren't road legal? Keep us updated with how they perform Ben.
  5. I'm going, just sent off the form. Anyone else?
  6. Yep it was one of those funny shaped ones with the cloth braiding, I got mine from nissan but can't remember how much. I believe this is how it looks (it's on ebay) gas tank breather hose.
  7. The spade terminals inside the connector seemed very loose when together and they were full of melted plastic, this would only make the connection worse I imagine. I'll be checking the rest of the connections under the dash
  8. Looks like it's the ignition wire white with red tracer, the burning has really only damaged a few cm's of wiring and the connector. What the pic doesn't show is the back side of the connector, has a hole the size of a watch battery The two spade terminals came apart very easily once the plastic was broken away, so I think it was just a poor connection that caused it???
  9. Not the kind of burnout I Like to see! I found this above the gas pedal, there is two of them one looks to have a large gauge white wire and the large gauge burt one is hard to make out maybe red, so I'm thinking it an ignition wire??? Anyone know what it is and what it feeds, they both are run separately to the main loom and each has extra heat shrink on them.....
  10. I got the NDSOC newsletter yesterday and they have mentioned the Nissan/Datsun Nationals are coming back to Victoria in 2013, This could be something that needs to be considered also.... :-\
  11. Hey Kent I may be able to shed some light on the fuel leak. There is a vent hose that runs of the back of the tank up behind tail lights into a 't' piece and to the filler neck. The plastic 't' pieces and notorious for getting brittle as are the braided breather hoses. Mine did this also when filled above half, I replaced the hose straight away. There's something very disturbing about seeing your newly bought Z sitting in it's own fuel puddle after filling it for the first time you'll be able to see it pop up through the floor behind the right tail light, and has cloth braiding. If its rock hard it needs changing.
  12. Ha. I don't do burnouts Rev, my cars just a stocker and I drive it like a granny I'll have a look a the column switches tonight then use the camera tomorrow.
  13. I did the relay upgrade years ago so the stalk just triggers the relay coils. We have a thermal imaging camera at work for use on switchboards. I might give that a try when the car is running with everything on, should work I think?
  14. Haha, I new that putting extra peri peri on my nandos would end in disaster! Is there any known weak points or hot spots in the wiring looms? It's definately coming from inside the car and is so strong I have to put the window down....... Not the for the reason your thinking
  15. I've driven my zed Quite a bit in the last two weeks and I have noticed a burning smell when running with the lights on. I've had a quick look around and can't notice anything obvious..... Any ideas? It smells like burnt wiring insulation, stinks to high heaven! I have H4's 60/55's and separate relays for high and low beam.
  16. Hehehe. I thought it already had three piece rotors? Whats he doing with the old ones???
  17. Whoa! Nice work Noel, what was it that made the difference? Tell me all your secrets please
  18. Me three and I just got it in time, Happy Birthday Simon!
  19. Whoa! I got my 42mm keihins for $350 and that was for 2 set of 4...... Had to fab linkages and manifold though. Another $600 and you can get brand new flat slides with linkages and manifold.
  20. I had KGB exel gas shocks on mine, were great with 220lb king springs but when I went to coil overs with 340lb(6kg) springs the kyb's were completely over powered and the car bobbled and shimmied on the smoothest of roads. I have since switched to kyb agx 4 way adjustables, these required a spacer as they are shorter and strut top hole drilled bigger. Very happy with them.
  21. Looks like it's running slicks in the pic, but apart from that hard to tell. Is he a memeber? It would be interesting to see what his setup is in terms of engine, suspension, brakes and so on....
  22. 23mm ring spanner should work too. When you do manage to get out I'd be checking the threads very closely as they are prone to stripping, especially as yours seems to be over tightened.
  23. Awesome Pete! What sort of power do you think you will get in N/A form? What are you going to do with the motor you currently have in the car?
  24. Are you sure its the belt and not bearings in water pump or alt? Try some emery paper in the pulley grooves Fu, don't over tighten the bel or you'll wreck the pump/alt bearings in no time, aim for a half inch of deflection in the belt when tensioned up. There's a product called 'belt grip' made by crc in an aerosol can, it's super sticky and helps alot......
  25. Awesome mate, love the induction sound as you get back into it! Saw the previous vid to (test fit crank).... "fits like a glove" LOL!
