  1. Moorabbin Springs make custom ones for around $300 a set. Give them a sample and they will make it to your specs.
  2. I think you'll be kicking your heels in a few years time... for just 5k, that's not much in todays pesos. Cars like this are disappearing at a rapid rate. If this is just a daily, I'd love to see a full on resto!
  3. Whoa! Nothing to do to that other than drive and enjoy! Well done.
  4. I'd be more than happy with that as a daily.. top effort!
  5. Freight is cheap with E-Go Gordon if you want it..... Helps if its on a small skid and wrapped in plastic though...
  6. Just a very thin film of grease...not packed in but some between the fingers then pull the cable through.
  7. Just read on Facebook Tir33 had an off and been taken to hospital... Hope all is well! Zed has been damaged quite badly too by the sounds of it..
  8. Welcome Daniel, Keep an eye on the for sale threads and everywhere else for that matter...good zeds pop up then sell almost instantly...as they say, you snooze, you lose! (and keep saving those pennies)
  9. I think its just in need of a good cable clean on the inside of the outer then a good lube.
  10. Awesome effort! Have you been able to get a video?
  11. Chris, another way to check is to remove each fuse and place the multimeter probes (with your meter still in the amp reading mode) across each fuse holder and check which one is drawing the amps. One guess would be the glove box light? remove the globe and check. Or if the box has been closed for a while, open the glovebox and check if the globe and holder is very hot meaning its been on for a while. Then try unplugging the alternator, coil etc..
  12. I have a pretty good left hand door and cowl if you want..located in Pakenahm.
  13. Oops...sorry! They weren't just spring washers and normal nuts, they were a small flanged nut only. I was thinking of the half shaft bolts. If you have any "crows foot" spanners, they can attach to a small torque wrench. But like I do, just tighten them up almost VFT but back off a touch..
  14. That is the right bolt for the tail shaft but wrong nut. That's just a "whizz lok" nut and they aint much good. Ultimate lock nut is a "Glenlock" nut which uses two metal tabs that bend out when tightening but when you go to loosen, the wedge up against the thread and side of the nut preventing movement. Expensive, as a box of 100 cost around $300. They are used on 2 piece brake discs (disc / hat bolts and nuts). Factory setup was just a spring washer and nut as the load was on the thicker part under the head of the bolt (shear or radial) rather than the bolt head/threads. Just make sure you torque it to the correct figure and it should be fine.
  15. Welcome Adam.. Experience you have gained with the other cars will be valuable when working on the zed; they are very similar.. Would be good to make it to the Xmas BBQ to see some nice zeds to get the mind ticking..
  16. I'd add that a matching numbers car may have had a better life and been looked after. To have the original engine, it usually gets regular engine oil changes, never revved to vent the block etc. An engine change usually means failure of something or beyond economical repair. I often think why has its engine been replaced?
  17. Of course, you are driving to see your wrecker for some more parts...ie me!
  18. Just had to clean it up a tad... Might have to see you Lindsay about getting some CCTV equipment fitted!
  19. As long as the L24 block is in good usable condition, I'd keep it under the bench and go with the L26 or L28 and go nuts. You don't want to regret later getting rid of the block for nothing when it's more valuable to stay with the car it was built with.
  20. How many weeks did it take to remove the NAPS manifold? Love the triple setup..its a must for any L6
  21. Was the section you cut out thin as paper? Looking good..
  22. Have you compared both reg's to make sure all the arms are identical in length? and angles? If not, the metal frame? that's at the bottom of the glass may have to be changed...
  23. Just curious if any of the NSW members live near Mount Druitt? There is a bike on ebay but I'm only interested in the brake/gear shifters (or just the whole handlebar and neck) and the rest of the bike can get scrapped. Is there anyone that can help? will be compensated with cash / goodies....or both? ohhh....4000!
  24. Without LD's help, my second 260Z would still be a rolling shell..
  25. Gareth, when I used to frequent the drags many years ago, I remember some rails running fuel injection with trumpets tuned to each cylinder; all in different lengths.
