  1. The engine is an L28/ N42 combo. The block is an F54 and is stock bore with a set of chrome rings i fitted. Other than that the bottom end has not been touched. It has Triple 45MM Dellortos on a Polished Kameri Manifold with Genuine Linkages Custom cold air intake and heat shield Electronic Distributor Genie Extractors port matched to head 120 Amp Alternator I also have a set of brand new ARP rod bolts that go with it The cylinder head i spent a fair bit on. I bought it off a club member here and it has had the valve stems de-shrouded , it has Stainless Steel Valves Shaved for higher compression Mild Crow Camshaft & Springs Stewart Wilkins Adjustable Cam Gear & Shims ARP Stud Kit I am negotiable on the price, the engine is still in and can be test driven. The best way to get the most out of these engines is in the cylinder head but for most of us that level of engine building is beyond us. It does surprise me when people go for a stroker but if you are making 1.6 Hp per cubic inch you will notice the extra 19 Cubic inches of a 3.1 Stroker
  2. I have one of them. Send me a text sunshine.
  3. You can have my engine for 4.5k. Triples and everything. I can get you stats.
  4. The guy who owns the house next door bought another house and moved out because of my hobby! The exhaust is custom extractors into 2" pipes then join to a single 2.5" with 1 muffler in the centre. It was 94Db before but now it sounds a lot more . . . . Exotic!
  5. I just replaced the engine with this stand in. I needed to get the block that the car was engineered out so i can build the Stroker. Yes, Stroker! I happened across a stroker kit on Gumtree, brand new, and made the guy an offer so i have most of the bits to start building.
  6. Bulletproof! Bet it's a strong as hell now too. Top Job, you should be very proud of yourself.

  8. You could buy this one and Dale's shell and return it to it's former glory, if you got the skillz!
  9. When i registered my V8 Zed i had to supply the previous owners address even though he bought the car from ebay unregistered and never did any work to it. They did a search on the car and found it had never been registered in Australia. The engine number could not be matched to the car as it was never registered but matched with three other vehicles (a car, a motorcycle and a truck). Some days at Vic Roads it can be just a matter of getting the right person to deal with. See if you can sign a stat dec to get the car around this issue. When i was there previously i was obtaining a permit on a VL Commodore and even though i had photos of every id plate the lady said there were not enough numbers on the VIN at which point the fellow next to her explained that being the model that it was it didn't have the same amount of numbers as later model cars. Remember Vic Roads staff are just like any other customer service center and may not know what they are talking about.
  10. The grain is a little more pronounced but you would struggle to pick it up. Having said that if you bought 2 meters of the material you could also retrim the edges of the roof. I'll see if i can take a decent photo.
  11. I did this but i used acoustic foam which is slightly thicker and adhesive on one side. I found the spray can adhesive was not working as well as Kwik grip applied with a brush. Cost $100 from clark rubber and i bought enough vinyl to do two of them. Make sure you keep your old one to make a template from.
  12. Yes they have angles on them. It's the reason why a lot of 80's Zeds had very poor speaker installations.
  13. It's on the facebook page at the top of the image. Katie sent it to me.
  14. One picture tells a thousand words (some words included)
  15. Both my 260Z's have the fuel pump wire hardwired into the loom. Plug and play.
  16. The wire should fire up on ign to on. I never had one that didn't. If your demister is not working you can always run that wire to the pump and then you'll have a hidden in plain view cut off switch.
  17. If you're on facebook i could send you a link for the repairs i did on mine. I actually have a donor roof here in far better condition than yours. Thing is it would probably cost near $250 to post it out your way.
  18. Having said that you could get the reproduction ones from ebay. I'm sure there is a link for them on another thread.
  19. These are items you will have to stand in a cue for. I had 8 inquiries regarding the last two sets i had for sale.
  20. My brother has one of those in the garage with the twin cam in it, pick of the bunch in my opinion.
  21. I'm going to suggest that the switch is actually broken inside. Pita as most know, was there a thread where someone actually found a replacement? I actually contemplated buying one from the states just for the inner gizzards.
  22. Stock steering wheel or aftermarket?
  23. These are cars are so cheap because it is reflected in the people who like them. I parted out one and sent windscreen wiper 100 kays away. I was asked to repack them to get it under 500 Grams to save $4 on postage. Windscreen areas are an issue. Check the boot and tail light area too Drivetrain is never an issue. Interior parts are gold so make sure it's complete there. Window rubbers on the side will always need replacing. DS Gaurd will sell for $450 but you will not be able to give away one from the PS. Biggest issue will be rust in the sills below the doors.
  24. Even if you have parts that should be plated yet you won't be fitting them to your Zed get them plated anyway. It won't add much to the cost and you can sell them as individual parts.
  25. 5K is what you spend on an average engine combo for the street. Mark my words that people will opt out of these Zeds too early. Watching prices on 2nd hand parts indicates some parts are getting very hard to find. Expect to pay $500 for a pedal box this time next year.
