I now have all the gear to take the engine back to stock. My L28 is now fitted to another club members Zed and i transferred the BAD260 plates over to the black zed. I guess i'll be getting rid of the Lotus Performance rims soon as i want to go with steel rims and hubcaps rather than the alloys.
On the topic of the engine it now has a manual behind it and i must say the performance is Wicked. I know the new owner will be much happier with it.
I'm in the same position. Mine are average but i have another set of windows. These parts may become one of the harder parts to find for the 2+2 in the future.
The color scheme will be factory. Engine bay the same as the body which is a Metallic Green. Not sure on the code but just looking for that original feel.
You got it Peter. Changing the BAD260 plates over and have already sold the engine to another club member . It just feels like the right direction to head in. Not sure if i will do steel rims or the alloys.
After not posting here for 2 years i have decided to take a rather radical turn. I have sold the Modified L28 and i will use the funds to return this Zed to factory spec which includes;
Engine (but with the preferred 240Z Round Tops)
Color
Interior
Bumpers
Bonnet
Wheels
Any other mods like the brakes will remain.
No way mate i'm not unhappy at all, i actually think it's quite humorous the way we trade parts back and forth. For everyone else out there this is just a small indication of how difficult it can be restoring cars.
All good buddy, all good
I'm going to throw in two cents worth here. dat240z you already had your say on a previous thread regarding an agreement you had with user name dingo that fell through. Perhaps you can sort this out on a personal level not using a forum as a medium or just let it go. If other people choose to help this bloke out then it's on them and has nothing to do with you or your past dealings with this individual. From my point of view the prior incident is your issue alone.
Welcome, you will need to resize photos to upload them unless you use photobucket. The Powertoy photo resizer for windows is easy to use and you can download it for free. Looking forward to photos (like everyone else i expect )
The one's Bruce is talking about are the front sections to firewall.
Make a cardboard template and start from the rear, it helps a lot to get it fitting correct. You can then trim to the front section to suit. I plug and seam weld them.
Downdraft Carbies Vivek. Get three then custom fabricate a manifold that allows 6 Ram Tubes to poke through the bonnet.
After that paint the Rebel Flag on the roof and weld the doors shut. YEEEEHAAAARRRRR.
