  1. Mine was nearly a bag of sand ($1000 for all the young ones) But engine conversion and brakes they said between $800- $1200 so was just in the middle. Didn't give a fudge about the wheels even though they were non standard 14".
  2. Tai may have some black parts. He had a 2+2 he was parting out (he may chime in very soon but i will let him know) I did my own roof lining but i can see what the on i have here is like.
  3. It's a great feeling obtaining that one piece of paper. Well Done!
  4. Here's one of the two i have. The mounting points should be attached to the chassis but i don't have the plates. Having said that the would be simple to fabricate.
  5. I heard a couple of fellas in Skipton speaking about these cars. Be interesting to see some pictures.
  6. Does it work at any speed?
  7. I have 260Z items sitting out the back. Are they the same width?
  8. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240Z-1970-73-Seat-Cover-Set-Authentic-OEM-Reproduction-Choose-OEM-Color-/121313290592?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3ed5e960&_uhb=1 Just sayin!
  9. Disconnect the throttle linkage from one of the points at the firewall and see if you can isolate where the issue is. If you disconnect it and the idle drops then the issue will be at the pedal firewall area. If not it's at the carbs. I can make a look through my box of parts but for sure Tai will have spares.
  10. Tai will be in touch shortly i'm thinking.

It seems Tai is the new Dimitri!
  12. They wouldn't fit a 2+2 anyways. 2+2 Sets should be easy to find.
  13. Most times an entire car is a liability so that goes in your favour. I made $2500+ on a 2+2 that was in worse condition than this one. Over your way i would say complete cars are rare and any car that's abused like this one will have rust. I payed $650 for my rolling shell 3 years ago but it was local so i took that into account. It also had 2 engines with it. $500 offer may offend in my opinion. The fact that a parts car can go to save many others can help sway a sell for the right price.
  14. Top Notch. Love it!!
  15. Sam made it here fine, the fault turned out to be the organic component. We fixed that and i showed Sam how to pack the bearings. We Then changed the rear caliper position which now has the bleeder nipples at the very top and the handbrake cables are now well clear of the halfshafts. The handbrake now also functions.
  16. This may help yourself or others if you have the time to read it. http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx
  17. Here's a picture of it.
  18. I've got 14 x 6 on my black one and i'll be in Melbourne today if you have something that can be fitted to replace them. They fit over Hilux calipers no problem.
  19. The pistons can pop out only if the rotor wore down to 7mm and you had no brake pads left.
  20. That won't be a problem at all.
  21. Should be easy enough but may take me a week or so to get it done.
  22. Please, you'll be fine. Just so you know a lot of guys carry fire extinguishers in their zeds.
  23. I've got a spare valve cover you can have for postage.
  24. What if i made a template of one out of cardboard and sent you that over? Can't have your mum goin crook!
  25. It's the Hilux Surf i believe 86 -88 model. Can anyone confirm? Can't say that the 2012 ones will fit unless you want to modify bits.
