  1. I have used a z31 dizzy and modified it to fit the L28(to work with new ecu), I use a f54 block n42 head, standed ecu, electronic dizzy that is locked. my head has larger valves and a slight port. I run 12-14 psi using a rising rate fuel pressure reg and have no issues and it pulls like a train it is also not intercooled. my new setup has a holset hx35w turbo, 555cc injectors, megasquirt 3 ecu, and dizzy from a z31 that is modified to fit a L28
  2. I would say you snapped the gbox mount first then the engine mounts, my car was putting out too much power it caused the gbox to shear the bolt that hold the mount to the box, as a result it snapped my engine mount also. fair chance that the gbox mount is the culprit
  3. I was using bendix SRT (street road track) they stop well but doe tear your rotors to bits
  4. I pulled a excel motor apart after a friends engine would not make a complete rotation, he also had a bent valve, turns out driving with a bent valve is a very bad idea I found the end of it lodged into his number 3 piston lucky it didn't bounce around, so after a new head and piston it was working again
  5. I did have one but sold it with my spare 280zx, im trying to get hold of a bloke who is parting out a 280zx in Wangaratta if hes got one ill grab it for you
  6. by the look of things we will be making a full kit also, so front spoiler, rear spoiler and a couple of different types of flairs, we may also be making some side skirts to make up a full wide body, after we have made 240/260z we will then be doing 280zx and z31. the fellow who will be making them has been doing it for 40years and I have convinced him that its time to start again and teach me some of his skills
  7. im about to try modding some s13 coil overs to suit the 280zx, ill let you know how I go
  8. you guys are not the only one, I would have had the whole collection then, 240z-z32 the 350z and 370z are not real z cars
  9. this is sad to see, it is one of the cleanest stock 240z I have seen, good luck with the sale I hope she gets a good home
  10. the better option would have been to use a z32 twin turbo oil coiler

  14. I have one spare in albury, I have taken the head off to have a look and it looks ok, I was going to check it all out before I used it, if you get stuck I can through a gasket on it another timing chain and get it back up and running

    there would still need to be a good intake, but ITB is a lot more efficient then a L28 manifold or even many custom ones, the sound is also a bonus

    flow, its custom made manifold might be able to use 70mm throttle body or run 6x40mm throttles with my ported head it will boggie and give good low down torque
  17. those are some big injectors for a NA, they appear to be 450cc gtr injectors if im not mistaken

    but when you look at people like myself with a turbo, ITB is much more tunable

  22. fair chance its your indicator switch causing the lights to go out, mine randomly turns on my high beams if the headlights are not on, I have cleaned it once prior and it fixed it, I get a tail light indicator on my test and there working fine, I just live with it, I have tried everything to fix it checking wires etc but seems to be related to the computer it self
  23. do yourself a favour and buy a rb20det gbox and change the bell housing over to a L series, there is a write up in the gbox section on how to do it

  25. for sale or swap, 280zx turbo has L28et fresh engine only 35k km (60thou over bore custom deep dish pistons, head rebuilt with larger valves, list goes on all parts where new) has TB03 turbo (steel impellors hot and cold side) has new clutch(stage 4 button) gbox mounts and many other new bushes etc, car is a weapon only running 12psi of boost atm has around 180kw, new a megasquirt 3 ecu, 555cc injectors, hks BOV palnet fuel rail all included but not fitted. im after $8000 or will swap for something of interest, has nsw reg can easily be transferred to vic located in albury Wodonga. pics are here, interior pics are before I done a manual conversion about 3 months ago http://s1260.photobucket.com/user/pauly_adams/library/280zx%20turbo?sort=3&page=1
