  1. looking very good John. that front end treatment is definetly unique. it reminds me of a expensive production car but cant put my finger on which one. TVR maybe. cant wait till its primed.
  2. LOL... love secrets. seems few of us are having them on the forum at the moment. "the evil masterplan........" good luck. looking forward to the mad creation.
  3. yep this turned out very nice. love the fat rims.
  4. why u wanna see a pink Z? i like it to be a myth....... no such thing exists (thats what i keep saying to myself) makes me sleep easier at night.
  5. i thought it was name a nissan not a bucket this probably be easy one
  6. looks ok from that angle.
  7. Stevo what u been choofing? clear point is as above posts is rust. look throught the forum and galleries on most trouble spots recheck them on the car. repair documentation pics etc.. expecialy lots of them ie before after shot tell u quality of the work. check the members project Journals like Revzed and few others on there. another trick people do is u take pics and post them here and we look through it. also u get someone that is willing to spare some time from the forum that is familiar with these cars to check it for you as a second opinion.
  8. i found that 5 series loose so much value that is not funny. 3 series hold their price bit better. thats if u care for that. im still shocked i sold my 93 for 6k. had a 318i nice car but since that lost respect in it. they do have few flaws that i though shouldnt exist with bmw. maybe it was just my car. alternator changed 3 times since its life WTF. my nissan still on the original one. if ever going to buy one again it be the M badge.
  9. yeah rb25det and neos have VVTi on intake side. u can see the bulge on the right side. if u not runnign stock ecu or Apexi power FC most other brands i dont think they take advantage of that. not sure about the relevance of L series housing for RB. u using RB block? or want to adapt to RB head to L block. or u trying to fit an L gbox behind an RB? if last one just use an RB box. lot easier and lot stronger than the L ones. though if space is an issue u can opt for rb20 box
  10. Hey buddy this what my top 10 things to check when buying a hotted up 240z. Since u don't care about originality chassing a low chassis number car is probably not worth it. Plus one with rb turbo I probably preffer the later stiffer models. Anyway what I be looking at first 1. Check that it's a 240z 2. Rebuild documentation 3. Recheck rust repairs see if there is any return of it 4. Check that there is no twisting of the car with supped up engine 5. See how the conversion is done. Quality and what parts are used. Also engineering paperwork. 6.check service history of the engine and operation. 7. LSD diff and cvs are must in high powered rb. 8.check brake upgrade.again a must for rb turbo 9. Fuel pumps and surge tanks make sure they are correct setup 10 interior finish quality of materials and parts used. Though the list could be lot bigger. Ie if big wheels check for rubbing and scrapings. If too low check for undercarage damage. Test drive for bump steer issues etc.... For rb26 powered 240 with flares and big wheels u better have lots of $$ and luck finding one for sale in OZ
  11. lurch being lurch nothing else wally57. u get to know him his good give him time. lurch bad day mate? as for differences. mine was 6/76 and was more closer to the later 75 models. what i noticed from 74 to my 76 some polution brackets are different on the earlier model. also extra holes and brackets in the engine bay. on the 77 vs my 76 i noticed the door locks the later using the more modern d style also few extra or slightly different brackets in the engine bay. usualy for pollution junk. 77 has "A: piller trim covers and two holes where they screw in interior. in the rear some 76 like mine has child seat anchor point same as the 77. usualy located on the strut tower bracing. the 76 didnt have a hole/plug in the trim (mine didnt) while the 77 did. most of this stuff can be added to the older chassis only difficult one being the door latches. u prob better off with earlier ones as there are more common. u should see what last 2 PO owners did to my 240z. though i did see them before i bought it. so i knew what i was getting myself into. good luck with all of it. post pics. maybe its not as bad
  12. ive used castrol for few years. mate used to work at nissan and recomended to get the castrol. its due for replacement so what u use with the nulon additive? redline is bit exy at the moment for me.
  13. they look like the speedhut ones. they do look good. only comment would be with white face and white dial makes it harder to read. i had similar on my z. but replaced it with the red needles. lot easier to read. u got to keep ur eyes more in front and not trying to read the dials u never know if a Lancer is lurking from a side street. BTW excellent work Dave. u quick, quality is awsome and the car is allready very hot and its not even completed.
  14. hey stevo arent u a moderator? whats with the pink and shouting? (actualy thats not shouting thats using PA system to the max. ..... ) thanks for the tip Lynton. i got similar issue with my s14. though using castrol oils that nissan recomended. may try the additive as well...
  15. at above... OH NO.......... Lurch junior LOL good luck on the Judge Dredd panel.... sorry Stevo just kidding. congratulations must admit good choice by the admin guys... im sure u do good.
  16. i know a guy in Adelaide who imported a mint 280zx turbo 2 seater. though LHD. his into 280zx and from memory he said the l28 turbo 2 seaters were only for US market. the japs had only L20 turbo like mentioned prior. i thought he signed up to this forum he be good to ask but seems to have disapeared of the radar. Glendrayton where are you?
  17. damn that was in adelaide. very nice 200zr. that must be one of the later ones. the main cluster is that original Looks like it but that looks more like 90s than 80s style. from memory they had pretty ordinary looking 80s style cluster besides the 50th aniversary glow ones. nice car nevertheless. they look so good in black. TIP: keep it away from lancers they seem to have a taste for Zs... LOL
  18. Cool scoota another z revamp. Can't wait lol xa yeah gone in 60sec love that line though couldn't use swim like in the movie as I can so changed it a bit as for kiss nope mate I should report rape. still hoping can't be too far away I hope
  19. Bloody f#%kwitt. Man so tempted to fit one of those exy car alarms with 360deg camera. Get the p#%ks number plate than use his head to make same damage he did to my car for not leaving a note. Some ppl just shouldn't be on the road. Heck I can't ice skate and I keep my arse away from the ice some ppl can't drive but still out there arghhh Can't tell I'm a bit on the wired side today Well could be worse. Just look what happend to me 2months today exactly and still no money in the account. All the best at least u can still drive it
  20. Looking very good love the colour. should suit it very nice. as for headlights im asuming the glass part. i used H4 diamond 7" that i bought of ebay. it made the car look bit cleaner. problem is i wouldnt do that till after the pits. Unless u get ADR stamped and approved version or E1 (which im yet to see). ive seen on yahoo auctions and us ebay ones with parabolic lense and halo park light glow like bmw. depends how much u want to spend. if u got rear demister that should be working and definetly front demister working. other than that all the norm suspension, oil leaks etc...) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Crystal-Prism-Headlight-Kit-2x-7-Round-Lamp-H4-100-55W_W0QQitemZ350338218511QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5191c8fa0f http://cgi.ebay.com.au/7-Inch-Clear-Performance-Head-Lights-Semi-Sealed-Beam_W0QQitemZ390110920821QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5ad46c4075 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Patrol-Maverick-GQ-MQ-7-Magnified-Head-Lights_W0QQitemZ220492317772QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item33565dc44c and i had these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Patrol-Maverick-GQ-MQ-7-Round-Clear-Head-Lights_W0QQitemZ230392715698QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item35a479d9b2 hope it helps keep up with good work and post some pics of the car in the sun. it will bring the colour out even more. BTW from what car is the code from?
  21. hmm tell u what that Mustard 920 Desert Gold is growing on me. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/04/13/car-feature-gt-gt-office-tomitaku-s30.aspx and heaps of short videos of the car here.... sounds awsome http://www.tomitaku.com/index_movie.html
  22. nice install P510PSI. did similar on my 260z. though i did reroute the ecu cables upwards out of harms way from passenger feet. (N12 pulsar, exa turbo nitemares of ecu being constantly kicked and causing intermiten problems) though i used skyline wiring through entire car just adapted to z controls and plugs to lights and switches. worked a treat. i will do the same for the 240z once i get ot it . wiring is going out of the 260z and reusing it on the 240z.
  23. congrats btw there is a 240z with v8 on ebay for sub 2k if u havent seen it. "needs bit" of work but thats what u get for sub 2k.
  24. nice car also colour suits well... i was going to paint it that green but than changed to blue but it looks hot in that colour. good luck with the sale. shoudnt need it nice car.
  25. wasnt this posted earlier? or em i confusing it with the other forum. i must be. anyway yeah incredible workmanship no doubt about it . but pitty waste of an wicked running gear in an ugly station wagon. maybe if it was Belair or something better looking than that thing. than again it will never see the road anyway its just something to look at but even with ferrari engine and all that hard work its still in my opinion an ugly car.
