I'd love to get the tips attached - taken from classiczcars where a guy was selling off a few that he'd found somewhere
-
thanks, i recieved my dvd today also!
-
do you mean the colour of the car i've attached? If it was my cars orginal colour i would go for it, but only because I'm a fan of the colour and was already thinking of that colour (so the fact it was the orginal colour is just the icing on the cake) - it would definately stand out alot
-
isn't the clear part you're wanting to make fairly flat, and therefore able to be bent out of a sheet of polycarb etc? or to get around the issue of it discolouring, could you try to seal the mazda units up and mount them flush onto a flat panel - instead of them being positioned behind it? either way it sounds like a bit of fun, i wouldn't mind getting back onto the rear lights i was modifying, or making up some twin projector headlight buckets, but I have other things i should be concentrating on with the car
-
idiots going into the back of the car is the one and only reason i would not want to drive my zed daily again I saw a white crx the other day just after the end of the eastern freeway that looked identical to mine after what appeared to be a nearly identical situation of a large car/truck going into the back of a car one or two behind it and getting sandwiched

i'm in east doncaster and have the stockies on my 260z 2 seater which i would be willing to sell for the right price along with the discs and pads. I'm not sure if they have ever been rebuilt (could look through all the receipts i have from the previous owner), but they were working fine
-
if you're wanting one to modify try to get one thats made before the middle of 1976, as they have less emissions restrictions. incase you havn't already read it elsewhere, early 260z's have the same body as later 240z's (although i'm not sure if this means they have the same cutouts for the rear lights? - someone able to enlighten me?) - just different rear lights, dash, engine etc, and you will generally pay a grand or so less for it if in the same condition
-
the closest to those you could get that would easily fit would be rota grids from otomoto - then get the pin stripe added http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4074.0.html

wow very fast, want to come round and take mine out!?! if only i had somewhere to put the motor here's my only pic so far, i'll upload more later when i've had time to process them

i think 40g would get a nice sr20det powered lotus 7 but looks like it there wont b much spare change by the time my 260z is back on the road, and it will be better suited to melbourne, since it has stupid heavy things like a roof and doors! the sensible thing i'd like to do would be to buy an old townhouse near the city

Assuming its ok, i'm going to tag along in the wagon, which i'm planning to sleep in also - its more comfortable than a tent, and free!

i'll get back to you within a week -
your's look awesome jay, i'm wanting to go dual projectors and have them floating behind a headlight cover like you've got there are factory hid setups that use reflectors, they use modified bulbs and generally dont produce as nice a light, and dont have anywhere near as nice a cutoff line projectors are not all the same so its not as simple as getting a 7" housing that has a dodgy projector floating about in it thats made for H4's - not even all hid projectors are the same this is how you want it to look just need to find some damaged honda accord euro lights to steal the projectors from! i only have e46 projectors, which spread the light out evenly, but the beam is not as wide (not really an issue as the zed buckets block half of it anyway) and the cutoff isn't as sexy 1g isn't all that much to spend on lights, specially if you drive enough at night and it means missing some wildlife on the road

Cognrats, whats your plans for it? Buy carbon bumpers...you know you want to -
Some very good information for when i get the zed back on the road - thanks guys unfortunately i was just wanting to know for my outback I did exactly that thanks warran, that was where i was thinking of going in the first place (as its next to the closest tram stop to my work, lol) but my dad started telling me crap about some places not having as good equipment as others yadda yadda yadda so wanted to make sure i took it to a place that knew what they were doing as it isn't running the factory standard struts anymore i left the car with them as was ment to b working, and when i got back he ran me through what he found and now its all good, and the car is enjoyable to go around corners in

Narva make proper 7" HID reflecto housings - when i inquired about them they were $1700 i think, and only either low beam or high beam if you put a 6000k+ HID kit in a normal 7" reflector housing you will look like all the idiots driving around with them in their civics, blinding everyone with blue light so buy my headlights i think they cost me $700ish to make from memory, and it was money well spent as before hand it was exactly as you described - the Hwhatever's in my outback get easily outdone if a car with factory HID's is behind me a HID kit behind a Hsomething projector sometimes looks quite alright, as you have probably found with your silvias (not a 180sx though...)
-
for the price of the conversion you could probably buy the car the engine was orginally from :-\ but the zed is cooler
-
how r they made? from a billet, investment cast or something else? you'd think for 30g you could get one machined yourself given you can rip the design from somewhere else (give me a head and i'll cad it up )
-
dam you'll have to drive either the s15 or s14 for a bit
-
Wasn't sure where i should put this. but i'm hoping someone can recommend a good place to get an alignment done near the city (melbourne), preferably north melb. There is a tyrepower i'm currently thinking of taking it to purely coz its close to work, but i'm sure there would be places that are more specilists than this?
-
so the videos aren't completely random? i'm not sure if thats a good thing or not! nice looking model, i'm still clueless on how to max anything other than a teapot in max, should probably try to work it out sometime, i started a solidworks model of a zed but then had some proper work to do and now i have no idea where it is. a guy at work did one of his ra28 so i need to get a zed to sit next to it in some renders!
-
this is what i ment, either leds mounted behind a solid panel, so not really that noticable when not on, or bulging out i'm not really a fan of a completely shaved look, although there are a few exceptions like that gt240 car in america with corvette lights
-
i hit the jackpot! http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/tcwrx-rear-lights.jpg
-
there's pics of a car that i assume is in america, where the whole panel has been replaced with a peice of perspex type stuff which looks pretty interesting and clean I'd love to do some custom led ones that follow around the outside of the panel shape, kind of a mix between the maserati and the current impreza's its proving hard to find a pic of it with the rear parkers on, but this style
