  5. awesome stuff kyle, can't wait to see it on the road hopefully mine wont be TO far behind - both in time and speed...although i think thats being a bit to hopeful!
  6. i'm not sure if this is proof or not...going to sleep now as i'm rooted! it was great to meet you guys and see your awesome cars
  7. hey guys, it just clicked that i'm going to be in sydney this coming weekend with a mate (picking up a gearbox for his car) and i wouldn't mind trying to make it along to perv on some zeds, but i'm not sure what he has planned (apparently meeting up with a couple of guys who have 11second hondas, sounds like a waste to me...) or where abouts i'm staying etc... i'll take down steve's number and give him a call if it looks like it could possibly work out, if not have a great time!
  8. i was thinking the $1000 off a day thing was pretty extreme, probably better off putting it on ebay as then its a wider group of people - and not one where everyone basically owns a zed already
  9. i'm starting to see these around more and more, and not just outside dealerships! spotted a hot blonde driving a yellow one down elizabeth st in peak times this morning, and a black one went through an intersection i was stopped at the other night and looked pretty nice
  10. ^^^ same, it looks the goods, and hopefully the dust on it doesn't get to thick on it before it gets used!
  11. ...wouldn't your car have an r200?
  12. after looking at the picture of rbz260's car more, are there holes there that are currently not being used? (circled in red)
  13. my last new diff mount lasted me less than 2 years... my car currently has a belt of some sort going between two rods over the top of the diff (same setup to what rbz260 has used here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5157.0.html to mount his cradle over the diff) so i dont see how there are no holes for me to have to drill to mount a bracket which is mounted like http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=5052.0;attach=8754. is one a 240z and one a 260z? the reason i'm asking if hte bottom mount is still used at all is since the GM transmission mount is encapluated so it isn't actully required *edited as i worked out what RT stood for
  14. its just a collar through which the bolt is going - so you'd just undo the bolts and the diff would drop down. this is what i was going to do, but since it's possible to buy the other sort and therefore cheaper by $50-100 i figured i'd just grind off the tabs and mount it the other way So craig are you saying your car still runs the nissan mount underneath the diff? To me it seems since you need to drill the holes to mount the cradle over the top it leaves room for stuffing it up, as their position is important so it lines up perfectally with the stck mount and therefore isn't putting either of them under any stress?
  15. I'm also planning on installing one similar to what you have pictured (have the insulated mount sitting here somewhere) - my only concern is how to install it in the right location so the crossmember still lines up. it seems like it would take a bit of effort? (maybe i just didn't enjoy removing and lifting the diff as much as i should have?!? specially the second time since the hole spacing on the flange was different by about 2mm!) actually looking at that picture again - is the normal mount not used at all? i know it isn't required but figured for rwc/engineers it would be easiest if it was? picture from Sinisha's car - http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2276.0;attach=2285;image although in later ones the rest of the stuff is there too?
  16. did u mean to say "I've heard steel wheels aren't really suited for track use, they tend to flex alot more than good alloys" i was wondering if the fact they flex more would make them better for the harsher conditions - but i guess you would never want them to flex huh? i wouldn't be surprised if they did change to l28's when they put on the stricker emissions gear later on in 76 - i'm sure i've read 260z's never got l28's in australia etc, but it is the net so could be wrong!
  17. your car looks nice, the wheels look gangsta! possibily a good idea for track rims? (more durable, not that much heavier? any idea how much they weigh?) i dont believe you, do you have a picture of your vin plate?
  18. it should be noted the rear cusco ones only suit 240z's and early 260z's - although the bracket can be modified to work with the later ones i'd say 2+2's dont have a chance of using the rear one. <$200 each is very cheap for them, and they do look dam sexy - although one of the triangular ones that go back to the firewall would be nice...
  19. good work scoota - now stop making me look like a slacker!
  20. my car was in similar condition (only diff really being that it's a manual) and i had no issues getting an insured agreed value of 12k take off the seat and steering wheel covers, and get new carpet (assuming it isn't the orginal carpet anyway) as if its all clean inside 15g or so probably aint to much to be asking (well i'd like to think so anyway) specially if its never been resprayed - although i'm guessing it has?
  21. I wasn't either, but its grown on me alot in terms of something different its definately up there! although looks kinda crap on ISF's
