  1. those are the ones I was talking about, good tip on the stretching of the image. I changed the zed to green when I had a shot of making it a couple of years ago - dam that was one of the most productive leactures ever! Made the r32 and r34 aswell
  2. there was a link to a jap site posted a year or more ago that had a range of simpler models including a g-nosed z In terms of complex paper models u should check out yamaha's website, they are crazy
  3. they replied to me saying the same thing, postage for 4 or 6 would be US$60 to melb, the only difference being with 6 they will be bubble wrapped instead of in their box for the reco place - simply to fit them all in. this makes them US$100 each, which with todays conversion rate is $155, so...how much was the one on ebay? any chance of the AUD ever recovering....
  4. sounds tastey yeah just cleaning them and putting down new paint (rust bullet) as can see a bit of surface rust happening in places on the inside where the foam was. i'm gonna replace it with some closed cell foam i have, i'm not sure how much the old would have really been doing anyway in the state it was in!
  5. pity about those dodo birds, but is cabage leaves a serious answer sulio? :-\ thanks for the suggestions, i'd previously given most of them a shot - the main issue is the intrusion bar is nearly hard up against the door skin, and then there's hardly any holes to get your hands inside the door to do the job blindly. ended up getting most of it out with a screw driver but i'm not 100% its all off - i might drench it in either eucalyptus oil or a wax and grease remover
  6. I was wondering if anyone had tips for how to remove old foam and the sticky residue left behind - particuly that inside the door between the skin and side intrusion bar. Thanks, Evan
  7. i'm more than happy for someone else to organise a group buy, just felt that since i suggested it i should see if it saves much. ...i'm ATLEAST a year off needing a new master cylinder
  8. is this something Arizona Z Car makes a correction for too?
  9. i think by rotational mass he means the parts of the car that are rotating while the car is going straight. I've heard its particually the case with the unsprung (??) parts of the car such as wheels and brakes.
  10. How much did the ebay one go for? So Lui's after one too? Maybe it would be best if each state did their own group buy so they can easily be picked up from one location instead of being re-posted? as it stands atm: Melbourne: Lurch Mossy zedEvan Lui? Qld: Moviefan Stevo i'll contact them and c if they actully have 6, and how much postage would b to melb for 4 vs 6
  11. any ideas on the price of the product mentioned in posts 78 and 83? i could only find reference to the fact it was expensive! did you end up making your own then NZeder - or order them through the said company in NSW? i am confused as to how this is the oldest method in the book, or is that just because i have no idea how their product is different to the stock items?
  12. i'd have to say it depends on the value of other cars that are out there that i'd also probably be happy driving around, such as an r32 gtr or lotus 7 replica. which is where i'm having trouble now looking at putting that sorta money into the zed. personally i couldn't understand my 260z ever being worth more than either of those cars with only its orginal running gear, although i could for an early orginal 240z, but then it probably shoudln't be driven more than 10 times a year so woudln't be worth it to me in my current financial position. it will be interesting to see what happens to their value with the economy and 'climate change' crap
  13. taken from http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2902.45.html so u sure u need to get rid of the BOV?

    Rust Bullet

Hey Charlie, thanks for that. I actully went ahead and ordered some yesterday after hearing back from fufu that was the only option. Unfortunately they aren't processing orders till the 17th, so i'll just have to wait. -Evan

    Rust Bullet

http://www.rustbullet.com/ I'm wondering if anyone has found a store in Melb who sells this? Or is it something that has to be ordered online? I was hoping to pick some up tomorrow. It seems like a good alternative to POR15, specially for those hard to reach places.
  16. zzzzzzzzzed my car has the same lights but they are mounted on a beam running between, and mounted to where the bumper is screwed onto the car's body. i dont imagine the beam would be very light, but could easily be redesigned or have some of the weight taken out which is something i should do, along with mounting the ballasts for the HID's somewhere else. they aren't aimed correctly in these pics but you get the idea. the 35watt hid's are brighter than the driving lights http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=399.0;attach=288 shows the difference between the orginal sealed beams on the right, and hid's in a decent projector on the left
  17. looks good to me, how did u work out what large diameter tube to use? does it have the same cross sectional area of the 6 smaller tubes or ? my car was made in january 76! so that makes me very happy, the vin plate only has adr 27 listed, seems like i narrowly dodged a bullet there...
  18. here are pics of the two tone 240z i was talking about from hybridz, i dont know his reason for not doing the headlight buckets, but think it looks weird - however i think his pin stripe down the side looks awesome
  19. i hear ya sulio. stevo will it save that much since ur in brissy so would have to post again from one of of aus to the other? hehe. i dont know if you wanna look into it though and let me know? if anyone in melb wants to combine postage, i'm i no rush for one as my car will be off the road for quite a bit - unfortunatly for the car i'm thinking i'll waste money on traveling instead for now.
  20. you organising a group buy sulio? coz i'd be up for one as my current one is pissing out fluid. stock brakes still work ok with it i assume? although probably not ideal?
  21. sure is, just wondering what your opinion/advice exactly was. so my car doesn't stand out TO much intially i'll be leaving it a single colour with an offset stripe, although i'm sure i'll change my mine...hopefully my car is back on the road within the time frame of NZedder's
  22. just for those who haven't seen the car i stole the side stripes off i'm gonna paint my car either of the colours used in the photoshop, then if i ever get bored with it do the other 'tone'. with the suggestion to remove the black stripe on the bonnet, i assume you mean to remove the white on the bulge also?
  23. there was a nice looking one on hybridz that looked awesome except the two tone wasn't extended onto the headlight buckets, which just looked weird - i wonder if this is the same car. a bit over a year ago i was playing around with the idea and ended up with this dodgy photoshop which i think looks ok, but is way to busy and over the top for a road car...
  24. looks nice, I thought the previous rims were pretty dam pimping though! fwiw my car has a cream interior with black arm rests, I have seen one car in aus that had matching cream armrests, and personally think the black breaks it up nicely.
