"the width of any replacement rim must not be more than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series" in japan vehicles from the same series (fairlady, 240zg, 432?) could be specified with 10" wide rims (as documented in their parts catalogs), so i interpret that it is legal to put up to approx 11" wheels onto our cars, making my 9.5" rears well within the limits Bluerat, i wouldn't mind a scan of the document you were refering too if you ever get it to work out clearly!

when i was looking through a beema site trying to find some info on my headlights, i came across a really nice fake e46 m3 that had aftermarket immitation m3 flares put on it (but they were more extreme than stock m3) it looked really good, so i wonder if looking at aftermarket parts for it would be worthwhile? i've always kind of wanted that sort of m3 flare look (original panel lines then *BAM!* angle change to flares), the racing zg flares are nearly getting there, but the normal zg's do grow on you! I'll see if i can find any pics of the m3 wannabe, or atleast of the flares...

from what i can tell alot of g-nosed cars came from the factory with quite skinny wheels still, so not making use of the flares. However, watanabes in 14" x 5.5, 8 and 10" were all factory options (the only year i am sure of this is 1973, but i assume that in the years after, this was the case also). I am hoping to eventually get an offical copy of the sports options parts catalog that i can keep in the glove box etc. This is therefore my argument to police should they ever question my 9.5" rims, as vicroads regulations only state they must b within 1-2" of the widest factory option, without making mention of the country...although i am fairly sure in court i would loose

i averaged around 400l per tank, ranging from around 450 to 350 depending on what i was doing (stock l26 with 240z carbs)

its interesting that in that ebay add a front strut brace is pictured...lol anyway, it depends what year 260z 2 seater you have. i bought the cusco "240z-260z" model. It was for the early ones with 240z strut towers, as you would think is the case, so to fix the problem the mounting holes just had to be slotted a bit, making the brace mount closer to the plate.

luis (or fufu), would u have any photo's of the mini colour on your car? I'm quite keen to see it as am thinking it would look quite cool, and am thinking of painting car car the colour of the one in my display pic, which also looks kinda weird under certain light.

kmart/bigW and toyrs r us should have them, but have only seen orange with a black bonnet and BRE style ones. i've pulled one apart and painted it (display pic/avatar car), was a bit of fun as a homework distraction! kyosho have a nice 1:18 scale 240zg, it costs a fair bit more but the quality is quite different! i have another cheap 1:18 scale 240z which came off ebay, its nothing all that special, but is green/beige so is kind of like a miniture version of my car, although both colours are not exactly correct and its LHD lol

the front ones can be held on by a nut and bolt, but as you can't get to the back to hold the nut on the rear up near the top you need the rivet nutserts. there are people who just use self tapping screws to hold them on, i think Rev is one of them, and sulio did this for a bit too?

i agree, and i like the front badge location, although i'm not sure u'd see it if you were just standing in front of the car? my only thought is to fix up the reflection in the side of the car, as you can still tell its sitting on grass from it, maybe just desaturate it?, and also the sky reflection to a lesser extent.

yep specially since last weekend was perfect driving weather, i'm going to die this summer. i'm tempted to spend money removing the body roll from the outback so its more fun to drive, but i figure i shouldn't waste money on it, and i should spend those nice days working on the zed anyway i can't wait to no longer have 'homework' but enough blabbering for now, that silver zed looks very nice and clean, and shows the shape of the car nicely

if you get desperate you are welcome to come and pick some up from my house, i am currently using 8 of them as have stockies on the back, but i can put my other rims back on if you want all 16, its just a bit of effort...

apparently its been done in japan, but it sits the engine really far forward, to the point that its nearly touching the radiator mount. The other thing i remember reading about it was about the difficulty in getting the 2wd/4wd thing working in a different chassis, but there are companies which make parts to lock it in either mode which can be used. there were scans of some jap magazine floating about somewhere, prob hybridz as stated by george. my thoughts are you should just buy the gtr and sell off all the parts you don't need for a normal rb conversion. I was thinking of doing this, but dont have space for a car to sit here for half a year or so until i can actually start working on it, unless ofcourse i come across a car thats cheap enough to make me overlook this issue. If you really want 4wd just get an r32, its not like they are particularly ugly cars? How much is the car? I'm assuming/hoping an uncomplied r32 would be easy to find for <10g?

it's actually a dark purple, but yeah it looks pretty dam nice, i think i would of kept the trim chrome though to match the lip on the rims

I think you'll find on that black 240z all the gunmetal bits, except for the rims, are carbon fibre i'm a big fan of any slightly off grey/brown/green colour, of which there are heaps on bmw/audi/merc. i was next to an e46 the other day which was a really nice weird gold/green colour, but can't find a pic of it quickly though. i was thinking it would be nice to have my car a nissan colour, particularly either of millennium jade off r34 nur's or the r35 titanium grey, but i'll prob get mine sprayed the old new mini's dark green at some point unless i find a nicer dark green, just as my car was/is dark green... both these colours seem to look more desaturated and darker when not in 'show room' type environments
