  1. ...if you need someone to drive your car
  2. i remember reading somewhere about a simple circuit that someone has come up with which makes them turn off at the correct spot, and they provided the diagram etc. i think it was on classiczcars. it would definitely be nice to have wipers which could keep up with the rain! and if i was ever driving along over 60 they wouldn't turn off in the right spot anyway!
  3. yeah looks good, but hopefully my clock will be replaced with a boost gauge so the fact its broken will no longer be an issue! whats your user name on classiczcars?
  4. I had all urethane bushes put through the front of my car, along with koni red's and low king springs. I have read that some people put urethane bushes on the horizontal joints, and rubber on the vertical. on a daily driven car this makes sense to me, as you definitively feel alot through the steering with it all urethane, but its not overly annoying or anything. The koni's can be set to different levels, although the strut has to be removed from the car for this to be done. Mine were put in by Toperformance, who rally a 240z and i was very happy with the settings they put them on (can't remember off the top of my head). I just have the standard sway bars, and all in all this set up works fine for a daily driven zed. it has just over 100mm of clearance at the front, but the back didn't really lower much at all, i assume because the previous spings sagged so much. so the only thing that really needs to be done now for me to be happy with it as a daily is to have the front strut tops put in the back to lower it that extra inch of so, as per lurch's write up.
  5. so to say anything you gotta post a pic? does this mean i should cut images into small sections for people to paste together? hehe, well here's one i dont think has ever been posted, just after it was freshly waxed one day while i was waiting for a mate. redrbzed, have you got any pics of your engine bay?
  6. is that a question or a statement? assuming these diffs r in manual 2+2's it doesn't make a whole lot of sense huh? but then long nose r200's are used as an upgrade from smaller ones so...
  7. woza, assuming the calipers do not have dust seals, is this going to be a problem when it comes to getting a RWC or engineers cert? to clarify, the bracket you would be selling replaces the need for the AZC rear bracket all together? I guess you still use their rotor adapter, so even though you still end up paying for something you dont need from AZC its not that much? i might be interested, depending mainly on legal issues of dust seals, and the price
  8. thanks lurch, this site just helped me get through my 2 days straight cadding for a stupid uniassignment rise against FTW, although some of the similiar music it recommened i quite dislike
  9. the cheapest/fastest/easiest way for you to get a 240z that matches your description, is to buy one that's already been done, ie has had a respray with an l28 thats had some engine work done to it. however it means you can't be all that picky about the colour unless you get lucky... then with the money you have left over you can upgrade the interior to leather (which alone could cost over 5g) and work on the sound system and the other normal things people do to their cars to make them that bit nicer. on a side note it is nearly a general thought that black doesn't look that great on 240z's as it kind of hides the lines, although there are a couple of nice ones!
  10. have you seen gav's car and heard his intentions for it??? my interpretation of what gav was saying is for a car who's selling price was assumingly reflected by the fact it was "in its original condition" with low kms (and therefore probably not a car anyone would ever use as a daily, maybe not even a weekender), it is not a full on 'concourse' winning car, hence the question. but from what i remember reading on the auction it was the original paint so they must of come in black from the factory, and was one of 200 or so, which would explain the $$$ although many of us may prefer to see a car that hasn't been restored and is in its natural beauty, i have read how picky some of the examiners get!
  11. good to hear. i'm contemplating the same thing about not bothering with an RB conversion and building an L series instead, specially due to the enjoyment which could come from having a car on the road sooner with more money to spend on driving it thanks to petrol prices. i'll be shattered if its at $3 by the time my car is back on the road! those jada models are awesome, i just bought a 350z one as i thought it might look niceish next to the 240z, but dam its ugly!
  12. when i talked to CRS they gave me the impression they only recommend certain engineers who are familiar with their products. it would be nice if their gearbox mount allowed you to remove the gearbox easier though... there is another company in America who;s engine mounts are CNC'd out of a block of aluminum which looks pretty special ofcourse
  13. i was sure when i worked at coles (for a whole 2 weeks) that autobarn was part of the group, must of just gotten confused, so thanks for the clarification. my local one is next to an officeworks and they swapped buildings so, i figured this was confirming they were one and the same...
  14. ...isn't autobarn owned by coles/myer? well minus the myer bit now... or did i read something wrong and therefore think your saying they are individually owned?
  15. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8724 "The mirror on the passenger side ( in an RHD car ) is further toward the rear of the car and further away from the edge of the Wing / Fender to Bonnet / Hood joint" RHD diagram mentioned in the thread as measured off a 240zg to the edges of the mirror is attached below
  16. yep, got mine today! i've heard they've taken down the promotion from the site now.

in a couple of places with my flares the nutsert may as well be a nut as i have had to drill through the inner fender also - but so it doesn't distort the fenders by squeezing them together when tightened i decided to just use nutserts on them too

  19. i think the diameter of the holes are different for different wheel brands, hence why items like the one linked below exist http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nardi-Steering-Wheel-Adapter-Kit-Nardi-to-MOMO-Hub-12mm_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122QQcategoryZ33704QQihZ009QQitemZ190242227336QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD2V in the pic of the one you linked to it looks like there are 12 holes, so maybe this is to account for that? the holes on my nardi boss seem to be spaced with a diameter of 73-74mm, i can find my vernier and my digital calipers battery is flat so thats the best i can do lol
  20. yeah i get what you meant gav, a 240z would be expected to sell for more, which maybe explains why the seller has conveniently 'lost' the ID plates? if he had them at one stage you'd think he would atleast know what it was as you said some ppl on ebay listings go crazy with various other searches they are hoping they could leach people over from, atleast the 240z 260z link makes sense, but posting something up as something it isn't is obviously morally wrong watching RPM for a bit on sunday they were talking about some rally from alice springs to brisbane, into which two "240z's" have been entered, but when they showed video of them they were both 260z 2 seaters...
  21. if thats the car in the mag then it confirms what lurch has said from what i remember jack saying at that awesome cruise lurch organized is it is a 25 gearbox, was it has to be done just right otherwise it spits out (either the flywheel or clutch plate) though the bellhousing?!? the article that image is stolen from says the car has a "heavily internally modified late model FJ20T gearbox", so maybe it was changed since it was written?
  22. *cough* sulio *cough* lol, i find it easier to tell ppl i have a 240z than a 260z 2 seater...if i can be bothered and they actually show some signs of possibly knowing what a 240z is i explain that its a 260z...
  23. came across this pic
  24. "No, no, of course not! People's personal sexual preferences are nobody's business but their own!" some mighty fine lighting gear changes there sulio
  25. I have an R200 with what i believe is a 3.7 sitting around which i took out of my car (the factory 260z manual one?) a bit over a year ago and put in a 3.9 LSD - they have around a 500rpm difference per gear from what i could tell, and the speedo was read off by 10-15km/h? it had a bit of a whine off throttle which i've been told is normal. I heard they go for about $500, not sure if this is the case either?
