  1. I don't think money is the issue as much as time is (ie I'm think 5 to 7K mark). By that I mean you can find some pretty goods deals re dollars it just depends on how long you are preapred to wait. Sulio oh and by the way Jane, if your looking for a 260 2 seater I know of one thats been sitting idle but looks like a runner, auto 77 model. Never gets driven, might be worth leaving the guy a note on the window or knocking on some doors to find out. PM me if you want the address and I'll give you the heads up Columbo! It's in the Ascot Vale area. Keeping a keen eye on it just in case I was to bump into the owner, nothing to date though Sulio
  2. yes you shoulda called. Hey I'm not sure that the Nikon digitals accept the older lenses. My K10 Pentax digital SLR takes all my old lenses but I was of the impression the Canon and Nikon do not. Might be mistaken though. Sulio
  3. Go for the 260 or a 240 Jane Sulio
  4. Yer I've been looking at these like everyone else kicking myself i did'nt get em when the dollar was at 0.98c. Have you done any sums on how much of a saving you believe ther would be on 3 to 5 sets? Sulio
  5. On first glance I thought your topic heading was "Hebrew Retrim" hehehe
  6. I thought I'd also just chime in. We probably should have made some mention that Craig has been taking care of the financials of our events in Vic for some time now and although we try and keep the site fairly easy going as far as official titles go I suppose you could call Craig our "Club Secretary @ monetary issues" as you have put it. Craig had a similar role at the NDSOC for a time and works in a financial role so it makes sense having someone with that background and his level of motivation and commitment to this site as many of our Vic members would know. Please keep in mind that this focus is on the Victorian side of things as we are trying to keep up regular events like overnight cruises (ie Thredbo and Grampians coming up), our regular meetings which we normally cater for and in some instances venue hire like the Jag Club meeting coming up in two weeks. We want to keep this as simple and transparent as possible hence this thread and the on going updates everyone will see. Our focus is to just keep enough funds going to ensure we can have regular events without relying on a few people funding them every time we might need some coin as we have been in many past instances. Interstaters might be thinking about what they can do and I know alot of the state mods have been really good in organising get togethers. I think that would be something to be discussed in another thread though. Cheers, Sulio
  7. Hey Lurch, I found a set of those scissor doors you were looking for! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/71-73-NISSAN-240Z-Vertical-Lambo-Door-Kit-FREE-SHIP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33642QQihZ025QQitemZ380102723028QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Sulio
  8. hahaha...thats brave man, have you been raising Borats wardrobe! Sorry to hear about the run of bad luck. Sulio
  9. I think with the early 911 the pumped gaurds were originally used for racing purposes to allow for bigger wheels and tyres but it later took off on the marketing front with a lot of non turbo cars just getting the look as thats what the yuppies wanted at the time. Interesting though to see a shape of a car follow due to a necasity of racing and not some designers idea looking for a better look hey!? And a classic shape thats lasted at that! Sulio
  10. Just getting back to your question mate. Most people with 240's and 260's that run L28's simply pull out the injected L28 from a 280zx and run the early 240 SU carbs that have no emmissions gear on them. It's a common, reliable and cheap conversion for teh ealier cars, typically done with no fuss re enginnering certs etc. Just plonk it in and advise Vic roads fo the new engine number. You pick up a running L28 from $100 to $400 for an oldy. Of coarse you can also bolt on tipple carbs, run the old EFI, multiple throttle bodies with an aftermarket comp. Alot of options just depends on $ and what your expextations re as far as power goes!? Sulio
  11. haha....it looks real though but hard to believe. There's no jet out the back. Surely this is not real!? I thought jet powrerd cars just roll and don't actually put power to the wheels? This has gottta be someones video editing? SUlio
  12. Yer castlemaine rod shop do off the shelf engine mounts for the 240 for these. Heaps of em around Melbourne. very straight forward drop in, easier than an L28 conversion! Sulio
  13. well if it is gonna go into bits it would be good to get it up onto this forum. hehe, yer he said all that was missing was my smiling face as the Z came around the bend. He reckons it was early in the race, he'd qulified about third and spun early as rain had started and many still had slicks on with an entire field behind him and black flag was up but no luck.
  14. After watching this video the other night whilst away in country Vic for work the next day in Mildura I woke up to find an orange Z on a trailer staying at the same hotel so I introduced my self. Nice fella, Rich was his name and his car turned out to be the orange one in the video that your dad pases after getting past the silver car. Small world hey! As it turns out he and his wife (both retired) had actually railered the car from WA and back for the Nationals! Sulio
  15. Ha that was my boss's Lotus that spun. He told me the Z came out of it with a fair bit of damage!? Hmmm...any idea on what the owner of the Z is doing with the car now? Sulio
  16. Did a 240 T bone an orange Lotus on a wet lap at some point? Sulio
  17. yep Stew, see you at the Jag Club! Sulio
  18. ha what a thread. I've been away and had some issues getting on the net. Chris, I won't say anything to the banner guy. Cool stickers. Looks like we have a bit of organising to do before the next meeting. Sulio
  19. ha cool words and nice pics! Sulio
  20. Have you had your's done Warren? SUlio
  21. Good to see you have made note of this Craig. All agreed as discussed. Also I have organised an Auszcar banner identical to the the one Chris has sorted for ACT, (same supplier, thanks Chris). Banner will be up on display at the next meeting. In good time I thought we could also get one of those sun tent things for shows like the display we had at Thredbo, but all in good time. Sulio
  22. I prefer those poly spoilers. I've got the same one from Allzpargts and it replaced a FG one. I hope you have braced it down low in the front as the wind at high speed will push it down and out of shape and it will eventually stay down like a boxers nose. If you have'nt braced the front I'd do it before the paint cracks, I know it;ll flex but why push it!? If you're curious about the barcing doa search and you'll find a thread with that exact spoiler braced to the radiator support. Mine as well as a couple of oyher members here. Sulio
  23. Great news re the 370z. Yep Video almost done. Really looking forward to this meeting and Grampians soon after! What a great month it's gonna be. Bring it on. Sulio
  24. Well done mate! Sulio
  25. Jason, There are alot of engines that will fit in an S30 engine bay as it's quite roomy. Failry stock upgrade is an L28, (do some research on that). Getting into some thing more modern you can also instal a series of RB motors which are popular conversions. The Yanks do a lot of V8 conversions as have some members here. Just search and you'll find it all here. Start savin you pennies! Sulio
