  6. and my beautiful wife and the car I wanted to commandere for the rest of the trip around Italy, if only he'd left the keys in the ignition for long enough!
  7. Haha - I feel so embarrased that I did'nt see this thread. Obviously it was started whilst we were in Florence and I did'nt log on for a bit. Well thanks from us both, oh and yes we are having a baby due on March 15. We found out 2 weeks later. Well I did post some pics somewhere however here are some more, the phtotgrapher was great on the day and his pics came up nicely!
  8. I also bought a set from Ben. Got them the next day and they did look nice. Great product for a great price. Sulio
  9. Hi Guys, A quick update to clarify some finer details for next Sunday's BBQ. I checked out the BBQ's on the river at Footscray Park today and noticed there is a new park also on the river just across the road, (Jensen Reserve) on the corner of Farnsworth Ave and Meyers Rd in Maribyrnong (river entrance of Edgewater Estate). Car parking is excellent, heaps of room and right at the BBQ's, alot of room for the kids for those thinking about bringing the family down. I spoke to Kay Halliday today and she was happy with the slight change in location although it's directly across the road from Footscray Park. The park is also just across the road from the Footscray Edgewater Cricket Ground, (Mervyn G Hughes Oval), very easy to find. Of coarse all Auszcar members are welcome as it will be a chance for us all to give Tom Halliday, our late Warren Hallidays son a warm welcome to the club. I believe the Melway ref from my Melway Internet search is map 2S F2 Current list of attendee's: Sulio Lurch Kyle Rev Craig John Sachi Loui any others I should add to the list? So see you guys there at 11:00am this Sunday 18th October. Craig it will be a good idea to have our Auszcar banner up. I'll follow that up not sure if it's with you or Lurch atm? Sulio
  10. Thats the lowest Z I've seen. I suppose you could drive it on a track but I doubt he'd get very far on the street. I reckon the car would get stuck on the smallest bump in the road. Sulio
  11. Hi Mike, I bought the HSD kit that Ben from Otomoto supplies and I had Lurch do the instal for me. From memory the price is $400 for coilovers and springs at the weight you want, very good price if you ask me. He had that price up as a special for Auszcar members. Not sure if the special is still going but you can check in the Otomoto section on the site here. Cheers, Sulio
  12. SOLD this morning. Dale, I'll pick them in two weeks as I'll be coming through Ballarat for a work trip. Scoota I thought your car was already lowered? Sulio
  13. Yer Dale called me and advised they did'nt lower his 240z which was puzzling as they dropped my 260 by 1 1/2" from stock ride height. Sulio
  14. Hi Guys, I've just had some coil overs installed and I know have a set of low King Springs for sale. My car is a 74 260z 2 seater. Pics below of the car height when springs were in the car. Price $160.00 Sulio 0413 188 024
  15. Hey Kyle, You'll have some fun leaving behind $250K Porsches off the lights hey! I know you will be putting a cage in it but just wondering what you could expect happen to the shell without the cage with some quick launch's and sticky rubber on the back? I've heard of older cars twisting under load causing damage to chassis or shell. I know the Z has joins above the rear quarter windows and it's my guess you would get some serious flexing there with that sort of pwer and no cage or seem welding in the engine bay? Sulio
  16. This thread was posted almost 5 years ago. We have since had at least two well attended overnigt runs down the GOR. We did say we would try and make it an annual event. The past two years we had it set for about August however last year the rain got us. Thing is you really need to plan to do it when there is no holidays going as it can get very busy on the road. I'm pretty sure last October they had a Porsche event from Lorne to Apollo Bay and that portion of road was closed. Definately something to think about as the weather warms up. At the moment we have the Tassy event in Feb 2010 and I'm not sure if anything planned til then. I do recall some talk about doing the Bulla overnighter again which is another great drive through the Black Spurr and up Bulla. Last time we went 1 week after the event and it was great. It would be a good idea to start a new thread Geraldi, to see what sort of respaonse you get for a drive down the GOR and see what would work for people regarding best time to do it?. Sulio
  17. Hi Guys, I spoke to Kay yesterday and she asked if we could move the date to the next day the Sunday the 18th. I'll edit the first post. I hope this still works for you guys. Sulio
  18. Hi Guys, As Warrens funeral was held in Adelaide Warrens wife Kay thought it appropriate to hold a BBQ in memory of Warren for the Auszcar guys. Warrens son, Craig, will be in Melbourne for the BBQ. He lives in SA and has inherited Warrens restored 240z, so it will be a good chance for him to meet some Z guys. The BBQ will be held along the river at Footscray Park starting at 11:00am on Saturday 17th of October( *edit moved to Sunday 18th October). There is ample parking along the river and a large under cover area with BBQ's. Food and soft drinks will be provided. I will post some maps up in the coming days so everyone is clear on location. Please refer to the thread below and advise if you think you can make it so we can work out how much food we need to organise: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,5774.msg49795.html#msg49795 Sulio
  19. Hi Guys, Sadly as most of you know Warren Halliday one of Auszcars committed Victorian members past away on September 18, 2009 from Melenoma. He was 58. As his funeral was held in Adelaide Warrens wife Kay thought it appropriate to hold a BBQ in memory of Warren for the Auszcar guys. Warrens son, Craig, will be in Melbourne for the BBQ. 20. I tried sending the owner a message from his site about a week a go but yet to recieve a response. Roger if you do get in touch with the owner perhaps you could direct him to this thread or pass on my e-mail address sulio_m@hotmail.com so we can get some details for an artical. Thanks, Sulio
  21. So sad to read the news. Rest In Peace big fella. Both I and Nicole will really miss Warren. He was a very passionate and dedicated friend and Auszcar member. I used to pop past his place to try out different carb jets as Warren and Kay live just a few blocks away, he was always keen to help out. We just arrived back in the country and it's been a week since I have checked e-mails or this site so I just found out. I also recieved an e-mail from Warrens lovely wife Kay who advised she will keep us up to date on any plans made for a service in Melbourne as most of Warrens family is from Adelaide and I beleive the funeral will be held there. I also knew Warren was undergoing treatment as I called him before our last meeting just before we left for our honeymoon however it is still a shock as one always keeps that hope that there will be a bounce back after treatment and later you can catch up have a beer and laugh about good times. Sad to think it will not be the case. Yes I remeber this day Gav, I say that with a smile on my face it was a good day. I thought it would be a good idea to do a feature artical on Warrens life and his 240z as he pretty much got it the way he wanted it before he past and he restored a very tasteful 240z. I'll talk to Kay about it as I'd want her to read anything we put up before hand as she may have some suggestions. Goodbye my Friend, Sulio and Nicole
  22. thanks, got my vote! Sulio
  23. Hi Gav, Yer nice one to get up as a featured car. My impression is that it is Zwolf's car as he has put it up on the Texaco comp, (by the way I just voted for this car for the 70's period cars of the comp). Will keep you informed. Cheers, Sulio
