    Seeing you have another 240 that will go down the modded path I'd go all original on this one. You'll prolly appreciate it more as you turn into an old man! Sulio but seriously I reckon it would be a fun exercise going down the purist path not to mention the value of the car on completion! Or put a V8 in it like some of those factory 240s had! ;D ;D ;D you know the ones...now what was the series code for those!?

    Ah rotary head ache. why not just get the real car they copied. A mid 80's 944 would cost peenuts in Ireland I imagine. Just put some club sport wheels on it and get it lowered. Like this one: Sulio EDIT: just realised it is the later model RX your looking at. Yep I like that series better than the new models. Still the 944 is pretty cheap seeing it will only be transitional at best.

    Nice one Dave, you really do get into it hey! Love your work, you should be making Z documentaries for Foxtel on Z resto's. I gotta better idea, offer the fella at Z w o r x $5K for whats left with the business and start churning out Z's from the old place and turn it into a full time job.     No Tonza I mean I believe there are two different 260 seater glass's. From memory is'nt there one for the early 260 (ie 74 model) which has different doors and slightly diferent chassis ie lower strutt towers than later model 260 2 seater's which have quite a few differences including the glass???     I don't meant to take away from your sale items but just going from memory there is a difference on the early 260z 2 seater glass vs the newer models, ie is'nt the 74 model 260 2 seater diffrenet to the 77 model? Sulio

    When I purchased my 260z 10 years ago it had cruise on it, must have been the previous owners after market fitment. It had an electromagnetic pick up on the drive shaft that fed back to a samll controller in the cabin down in the center console near the ashtray and controlled the carbs mechanically with some sort of small electric positioner attached to the carb linkage bar. Needless to say it was quickly turfed, bummer I did'nt get any photos at the time. Sulio

    Did yu have it insured for agreed value? I've got mine down for $20K with GIO. I wonder if they would pay that figure out though in a worst case scenario, you know how insurance companies are. Cheers, Sulio

    Hi Guys, Yer I won't be going anywhere. Most likely just a matter of time before I start on another old Z which would be fun to start again. Yer Evan, I had a nice chunk of savings in the bank but thats gone and in exchange I've now got a bank loan. No matter all worth it a the house has come up nicely and we should be back to a strong financial position in a year or so but in the mean time I gotta make sure all the bills are covered. Yer I might snap up a cheapo rusty 240 just to have one and just leave it under a tarp until I have the cash to fix it up. Yer I've been wondering what happened to your car?     You have a lot to learn little Harry Potter! Unfortunatley, I've spent over $250K in the last 18 months with the reno, marriage, 2 months in Europe and now a baby on the way with the second half off work for at least 6 months to come...well somethings gotta give hey. Sulio

    Hi Guys, Will see how the sale here goes. I'll leave it for a week or so before I put it up on the likes of carsales. It's got the plumbing for aircon under the dash but I've pulled out the compressor, condesor and pipe work as it was all so heavy.     Hi Chris, House is pretty much done but I gotta reduce some debt. We gotta a baby due in two weeks. I'm hoping to come back into some cash at the end of this financial year so will have a look at whats out there at that time. Perhaps an old Porsche or a new start with a 240 and keep it very basic. We'll see. Sulio
