Thats the good thing about the 5 series, they have already dropped so you can get a pretty nice one for low dollars, all the depreciation has already happened. This 2001 M5 for instance, I think they were over $100,000 when they cam out. Now this one is on e-bay as but it now for $22K and starting bid of $19K! Pretty good buying assuming the motors not clapped out.

yer thats been for sale for ages. I'm all over the place, the flavour of the week atm is looking for a new family car. The second half is happy with her little 306 Pug but I like the older 5 series bimmers, I find her Peugot so cramped with the baby gear in it.

Ah hopefully we have the video of Tassy ready to go for the next meeting so we can book the Jag Club and have a movie and pizza night! Cheers, Sulio -
Hi Guys, Not going to rush into buying another Z but rather savour the hunt. I've got some final bits and pieces to finish around the house ie drive way and gardening but there will be plenty of Z's to look at. I reckon once you got cash ready to go it's easy to beat the tyre kickers. Cheers, Sulio

e-mail recieved: Z CAR CLUB SYDNEY Inc. 2011 ZCAR NATIONALS update report. This will be a periodical update report on our progress as we prepare for the event planned for Easter 2011. being staged in Goulburn NSW by the hosts, the ZCAR Club of Sydney. Progress for the program thus far: FRIDAY’S WELCOMING; Preliminary discussions taking place now regarding the Venue, Catering etc. which will be more positive as indication of the number of Participants are better known. SATURDAY’S CONCOURS; (and breakfast) We have successfully had Approval with our bookings for the Saturday Concours in the City Square which includes the use of the Central Pack complete with Road Closures, signifying this specific event by the Goulburn City Council. Deposits have been paid and further regulatory requirements are required as we get closer to the event like proof of separate Public Liability Insurance and the normal assurances of Care, Cleanliness and Behavior etc. because we are guests and the event is open to the Public. SATURDAY EVENING: TBA SUNDAY’S RACE DAY; We have also successfully had Approval with our bookings for the Sunday Race Day at Wakefield Park Raceway, complete with all of the Track Facilities and Safety Equipment and the assurance of the use of their nominated Insurance Coverage for our Participants, Volunteer Marshals and the Public. Deposits have been paid and also as with the council certain Regulations have to be adhered to along with the Racing Regulations including Conduct of all attending. SUNDAY’S BUS TOUR; Preliminary discussions taking place now regarding Tour Venues. SUNDAY’S PRESENTATION DINNER; Preliminary discussions taking place regarding Venue, Catering, Shuttle Bus etc. which once again will be booked as we get closer and a better indication of participant numbers are known. Please Note; We have enlisted the services of a Goulburn local “Special Events Organizer” Megan Barnham, whom I worked with developing our 2005 Nationals, and because of her close associations and her reputation in organizing several successful events has placed us in a more advanced position with more achieved earlier than 2005. Megan as well as our Negotiating Communicator with Council/Wakefield/Venues/Bus tours etc. is totally responsible for all of the Accommodation Bookings! This is most important as the Discount is Paying for our Saturday’s Breakfast at the Concours (by the local Lions Club or similar.) I am currently constructing a “Critical Path Analysis” to include all important action groups and responsibilities and identifying where volunteers will be invited to assist and lend a hand to make this event more pleasurable for all We are also sending “Personal Invitations” to all of the Qld. Nationals Entrants/Nisan Datsun Sports Owners Club-Vic./the Sydney Datsun Club/the 300ZX Club Association as well as our Members and have now posted the official notification on our Home Page, please check for Updates. More to follow, Cheers for now; Les 260 Pres of Vice.

Hi Huw, I never got round to taking them the bars. I don't think anybody from the site ever used them and have no idea on pricing as this was so long ago. Sorry. cheers, Sulio

Haha - I'm sure there'll be times you regret that desicion! haha-just kidding. Well, the CAR IS SOLD! Sad to see it go but there will be another Z in my garage one day. In the short term it might just have to be an old rusty beater. The hunt for a sub $2K 240 begins. Cheers, Sulio

I don't think he will care if I say what suburb he's from. To be honest I'm not even sure if it was Glen Waverly but somewhere round there so I'm sure all the local fellas will see the car round the eastern side. Cheers, Sulio

A fella from Glen Waverly from memory.

Very nice buy this one, I'm tipping it won't last! Cheers, Sulio

wow what an opportunity. hehe...I respond to these when I get them and I just ask if they can give me some money as they must be making heaps from their scam. -
C'mon fellas lets try not and spread crazy rumors. I do know the truth on the Lurch front. He has confided in me that he recently came across some information on the Lochness Monster and is raising funds for exploration's in the Loch and enough equipment for a documentary. I am personally looking forward to seeing the film. Cheers, Sulio

well that came together quite nicely hey!

Ha looks nice, thats my old Z. I sold it to Nate in the condition you have it in the first pic, pretty much the factory stock look and I don't think he ever got time to touch it but he did take off overseas and sold it then from memory!? Looking really good, I was wondering where this thread got to as someone sent me a PM the other day asking about this car as they saw it in my gallery. I could'nt find this thread at the time but I'll keep a tab on it from here in to follow the progress. Thanks for the update, Cheers, Sulio

Wanting to move out of home and share with someone
Toecutter replied to K240z's topic in Off Topic Discussions
Hey Kyle when did you move in with your dad? Sulio -
Hi Mike, Yer Lurch's project is tempting but I was thinking about a lower price point, although even the rust buckets are starting to cost over $3k these days. I have a few leads on the go and will enjoy the hunt as there is no rush. Bruce, my concern is little Bruce may already have picked up on your bad habits! Cheers, Sulio

Hi Guys, Just a quick update for anybody that might come across this add. I have taken a deposit on the car. Just FYI I will be in the market for a cheap old rusted out 240 or 260 2 seater that I can store away until my cash flow improves. I just want to ensure I don't get priced out of an early Z when I want to build up another one. Cheers, Sulio

Not yet, had a couple of offers. Not far off the mark but in the middle of negotiations with a fella. I'm keen on an old rusty 240 to stick under a tarp so heads up mate. I want to ensure I have a Zed for the furture even if I have to put off fixing for a while. Keen to hear what you think about the power difference going from the 24 to the 28. Cheers, Sulio

When I put my L28 in and initially fired it up I found I was'nt getting any fuel from the pump. Anyhow as the L28 was injected it did'nt have the small off center cam like washer that from memory had to be bolted to the cam! Take it off the old motor. Also if it's an L28 thats come from an auto don't forget to add that brass bush where the gearbox shaft mates to the engine. I hope you understand my crap descritptions. maybe someone else can give it all a more proffesional interpretation. Cheers, Sulio EDIT: Ah as above. Lurch must have posted whilst I was posting.
