I don't want to discourage anyone from getting a Zed either. As I loved them when I was 17-18 and bought 2, a 240z and 260z. I couldn't find any other job than pizza delivery at the time and as a result some idiot pulled out in front of me and well see the pics below: http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=57&uid=2 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=59&uid=2 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=60&uid=2 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastupby&cat=0&pos=61&uid=2 If you do buy a Zed, get yourself a cheap run-about while you fix it up over a couple of years. It will be the best thing you can do. You will learn to become a defensive driver over the first couple of years and realise that idiots are everywhere and they seem to be magnestised to my 240z when I'm on the road. Honestly its as if people are going for you when you drive your Zed . Best of luck!

Club stickers and donating members
gav240z replied to gav240z's topic in Website Feedback & Club Discussions
Hi Guys, This is something I will need to raise with Sulio / Craig and Lurch. I think more club merchandise would be a great idea. T-shirts and stickers are definitely 2 things we should have. http://www.cafepress.com/ Might be an option for creating custom clothing such as T-shirts / Hoodies / Caps I'll need to investigate the cost involved and how much of a cut the company takes. If you donated and didn't get a sticker please let me know and I'll add you to the list: 1.) Silverz 2.) stevo_gj? -
I just want to say from an outsider perspective it seemed like the event was a great success and I personally like all Nissan / Datsun vehices. A Zed only event would be a failure because there simply isn't enough numbers to make it a great show, plus the variety of 1600's and Roadsters etc.. makes it great. Now this is just a personal thing for me, so nobody get upset. However I am far more interested in the early Datsun's than I am in the later Z series. Eg: Z31 / Z32 300zx. To me the Nissan / Datsun nationals in 2005 (I missed 2007 and 2009 because I have been MIA) was great with the early Datsun's and Nissans, there was also the later R32's / R34s and 300zx's but there was absolutely nothing wrong with that event. I have no idea on the award side of things because I haven't entered my car in any of these events. I imagine it would only be fair to have categories for each make / model where there were enough numbers.

Thanks Lurch, I know who I'll be seeing when the time comes to fix the rust around my doors on the 240z .

First of all you obviously didn't read any of the sticky posts when you joined. Second you posted in the wrong section. Third you are shouting on the Internets and we don't like that here. Fourth you didn't use the for sale template to advertise your car here. Perhaps you could show a little respect and follow our rules. Our classifieds section is FREE! not cheap. The website costs more to run per year than what most would pay for the 2+2 advertised and certainly more than you paid for it. I'm going to move this topic to the classifieds section. I'll give you 3 days to clean up your original post and use our for sale template. If you decide this is too much effort feel free to advertise it on Ebay or carsales.com.au or equivalent.

Haha, I bet you looked this up after I gave you guys the Web Analytics stats .

Did he say they were specifically looking for a Zcar? I guess its period correct. I haven't seen this TV series is it any good? Can I get DVD's of it anywhere?

Yes if you search from Australia we are #1 but it will vary depending on where you are in the world. If you go to www.google.com and search for 240z You will get a url like this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=240z&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= hl=en is for English q=240z is the term I typed into Google btnG=Google+Search means I hit the Google search button as oppose to I Feel Lucky aq=f - not sure what this means I can probably find out oq= is empty To see results specific to the United States you need to add the parameter &gl=us geographic location is the United States http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=240z&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&gl=us You will see we are not #1 in the US, because our site is Australian focused. I gave up a long time ago trying to get this site to #1 in coutries other than Australia simply because we are an Australian site and we don't neccessarily need American members, plus Hybridz and Classiczcars serves those regions well enough. I'm not looking to compete with those websites. There is alot of room for improvement in terms of Search Engine Optimisation with this website and alot of that will come from migrating to a new content management system. Thanks for noticing all the same . PS: Just because I work at Google doesn't mean I can rig the results .

So for the people who attended. Is anyone willing to do a write up on the event that we can put on the homepage for those who didn't make it? Would be great to have someone do a write up, preferably of all days, but if not perhaps we can split it up into a review of each day by different people? Any volunteers?

Yeah those wheels are hot, I wouldn't have thought they look good on a 240z until I saw that photo though. I generally don't like alot of modern wheel designs but this one works well.

Welcome, I'm crazy about small vintage japanese sports cars too. Good to know I'm not the only 1 . Seems you are not the only one either. We gets loads of visits daily but it seems a much smaller minority actually sign in regularly. We don't bite in here!

Hi mate, thanks for the pics on behalf of Auszcar.com

Car porn, there is some great photos there. I've was meaning to get Simon Degroot's car featured on this site, but never quite got the details off him. Will need to follow up again as that is a fantastic car. I also love the Brown / Bronze 1600 saw it a few years ago at the Nationals in 2005 I think it was Goulburn great car (damn that was ages ago too!). I'm jealous now, wish I was there.

They sound good at full noise those l-series engines . Wish I could have been there. -

Ughhh those look awful, I feel your pain. My previous owner swapped out the vinyl pattern for some kind of tacky felt carpet. Would love a good set of door trims for mine, very interested to hear feedback on their quality. Please keep us posted.

Stay safe everyone and have a good holiday.

I saw this for sale on carsales looks really clean and tidy, love the venetian blinds and whitewall tires. I like the colour too, in fact it was a bronze 260z 2+2 that a neighbor down the road had that first gave me Z-Fever. Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay here.

Sounds like he rubbed you the wrong way. Maybe he just felt he had to prove something to you? I wouldn't worry too much about it. When I first got my 240z my 73 that I later sold and still regret. I had some guy tell me I shouldn't bother with it, too much rust it had cancer and wasn't worth fixing up. He wasn't the only one either. That stuff used to wind me up a bit, because I didn't want to hear that it wasn't worth while and was a pointless endeavor. I guess what I'm trying to say is try not to let it bother you. He was probably just trying to look like an expert .
