  2. I'll admit the noise on the forum can be very annoying. However we can't target 1 individual alone. I myself am probably responsible for half of the forum dribble. I agree keep the noise in the general discussion and off topic areas. Technical sections should be technical discussions.
  3. Sounds good although I enjoy it being loud. http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=4 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=20 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=35 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=44 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=45 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=47 Don't have any pics of under the car yet. I want to get this system redone eventually to suit the new engine I'll be building.
  4. haha, I have the same set up on my Z dual pipes out the back. It is very loud. I had it tested and it was 119 DB at 4500rpm. Its amazing at 7500rpm, but ears bleed if you go into a tunnel and open it up . If you want to sell that set up I'll buy it off you. I had a similar experience when I went to an exhaust shop to get a flange put in so I could unbolt the exhaust to access the gearbox. They did that fine, but in order to put the flange in they put some ridiculous bend in the exhaust and it never sounded quite a clean after that . I agree canon muffler = rice boy lancer look
  5. If this sound doesn't give you chills up your spine nothing will www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr6tSww1-lU
  6. I'd stick with the 240z intake manifold. What's important is port matching more than the manifold. I can't see any major difference between the 240z / 260z intake manifolds other than the number N63 / E88 from memory. They might have slightly wider diammeter. Measure the openings on both ends and see how big they are? If the 260z manifold is larger it 'should' flow better, but the only way to know for certain (Dyno!).
  7. Should be able to get 1 fairly easily. I'm fairly certain the same gasket is used for exhaust and intake from memory. So you'll need to unbold the exhaust manifold also.
  8. No point talking to him, its an automated bot who posted it. Looks like these spammers are getting smarter though. God damn I'd love to find the bastards who write these scripts though.
  9. Only problem with cream leather is if you get it dirty. That and the fact that I'm not sure if it would suit the burgundy exterior paint job? How about a biscuit colour?
  10. I was in the process of doing something similar on mine, but it had some indents on it from people banging stuff into it like spanners and screw drivers. Suggest wearing a respitory mask if anyone is sanding their valve cover. Alloy dust is not good for your lungs. How did you get in between the nook and crannies? I found it a pain in the backside.
  11. You'll get far more interest with some pics of the car up. Sounds like its good for parts. Perhaps part it out?
  12. Hi Guys, I'm considering booking a flight to LA to see JCCS http://www.japaneseclassiccarshow.com/ Date: 5th Annual JCCS - Saturday, Oct.3rd,2009 Venue: Hidden Valley Park, Irvine,CA Registration will be open in July! Anyone else thinking of going? I know its a bit of a stretch for Australian's to get there and in fairness it's a bit of a flight from Dublin too. I've seen pics from previous years though and would really like to meet some enthusiasts and check out some cool J-tin. I'd probably drag my g/f along, but I'll chew her ear off all weekend about this and that car, would be good to go with another nutter like myself who won't get tired of J-tin related conversations .
  13. Hi Guys, Came across this, great if you are a JDM Fan. http://www.abchobby.com/
  14. Last time I saw a Coupe in person was 2005 http://www.viczcar.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=0&pos=-896
  15. The coupe's are pretty rare now. They used to be everywhere but time has ravaged many of them and others ended up on the scrap heap to be picked and prodded for parts. There is still quite a few sedans around but Coupe's I've not seen 1 on the road for a few years now.
  16. Example of yuk tailight conversion
  17. Actually that's not so uncommon. There's been quite a few Zeds that received that treatment. Although I prefer Zeds with Zed tail lights and Skylines with Skyline ones. It does look interesting and period correct and is surely better than the horrible tail light conversions I see alot of the Yanks do.
  18. Really I'd love to, but 2 problems exist right now. 1.) Nowhere to put it and if I had the room I'd be buying another 240z 2.) I'm not in Australia right now so its really not a good idea. I hope someone else picks her up though and decides to do it.
  19. That's fairly superficial for a Zed as has been said. I would definitely try Rob at ZFactory in Mordialloc he did some rust repair work on my Zed and knows them backwards.
  20. No sorry I don't know the colour code of the skyline. I'm fairly certain that colour wasn't used on the 240z as the 240z silver was quite different. Perhaps someone else on here knows?
  21. I'd probably offer less than his / her asking price. Looks like it has some rust in it that needs attention. Plus I would definitely be looking to turn it into a GTR replica (the standard 240K front end is horrible). Deck it out with flares and Wat's and you have a very unique classic car.
  22. If this wasn't in the first post I would have put a disclaimer myself. Linking to 'nice roads' isn't telling people how to drive on them .
  23. Not a 240z, but a 240K coupe. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-240k-auto-coupe-1973-Datsun_W0QQitemZ280350004739QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item4146299603&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A3|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50 Item number: 4146299603
  24. Its a module that goes into your normal (non electric dizzy) and replaces your points. Effectively making it an electronic distributor. Its an aftermarket part.
