  1. Only if you promise to call out the numbers over loud speaker.
  2. I actually thought he was taking the piss .
  3. I'm so envious of you! . Can't wait to see it installed. Can I buy your old engine head off you? Or is that going on the C110?
  4. I had a feeling that may have been the case. I personally prefer how the cover on the first edition has a S30 over an S130 too. I'll keep my eyes on ebay and see if the original version pops up. I'm not so interested in the Z31's and Z32's or even Z33's (bit modern for me), but I did see he had books on Porsche's and the Mazda RX7. I'll see how I go with the S30 books to start with. I haven't found much on the early Mazda rotary's and their racing history which is something I'd really like to read about. I don't suppose you know of anything in English that's worth reading?
  5. Just some quick notes, there are some errors in my article that I will need to correct and tidy up. I was pretty tired when I was typing it up last night and there's some typo's and other inaccurate data. Thanks everyone who has so far contacted me with corrections. Also I'm considering I might break this article up into bits and several different articles that are all linked to each other. At the time I thought I should really plan how I'm going to write this article, but instead decided to just blurt out what came naturally. keep checking for updates.
  6. Mike (Nzeder) told me it was due to Nissan's experience with rallying and the lower strut towers "punched through" on big jumps and hard abuse. I'm sure Mike will correct me if I heard him wrong, but that's my understanding of it.
  7. Good to know, I guess keep in mind also that its incomplete and just a start. I'm hoping photos will make it alot clearer. Especially helping people understand the differences.
  8. Hi Guys, Anyone read either of these books? http://www.amazon.com/Datsun-Fairlady-Motorcycle-Marque-Model/dp/1901295028/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247437963&sr=1-3 http://www.amazon.com/Datsun-Fairlady-Roadster-280ZX-Hardbound/dp/1904788076/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247437963&sr=1-1 They look like almost the same book. I'm wondering what the differences are? Mainly because there is a huge price difference between the 2. I'm also looking for a good book on early Mazda Rotary racing history. However ebay seems to only cater to later RX7's. I want to study up on early Japanese cars, so any other recommended books would be fantastic.
  9. Glad the article helped. Although its not complete and needs to be updated. Yes many Z's have been battered over the years, hope it doesn't deter you.
  10. Hi Everyone, I've been meaning to write this for ages, but haven't got around to it. Having started I now know why, I'm wondering what I've got myself into here. Anyway I plan to include pics of differences and tidy up the article eventually. I hope this can reduce alot of the same questions we get about buying a Z. http://datsun-240z-blog.viczcar.com/nissan-datsun-s30-buyers-guide.html Feedback welcome. I had to stop writing, as it was getting late here and I already spent a couple of hours on it. Will pick it up again soon.
  11. Awesome I've always thought this would make a cool swap in a 240z. Although I'm not sure I could swap out my L-series engine. Is this how the car is now or did you decide to go with an RB25? We should feature this car on the homepage, would definitely be a first to see a rotary Z on the homepage. 8-)

    20b block installed

So you have a 20B or RB25 240z? Or both?
  13. I think I have a new best friend hey Lurch .
  14. I know of one guy, he was a member here. However is not on here very frequently. I think his username is Zedrally and his name is Mike. He painted a Z in that kind of scheme. I must say I've been somewhat tempted to give my own Z an old school race livery paint job.
  15. Yeah I think this was going around on the internets before . It is amazing, they say every man needs a hobby well this guy certainly has 1. He should be an automotive engineer I think. He could build just about anything he put his mind to.
  16. Couldn't agree more I've read more exciting articles in Woman's Weekly waiting for the Dentist. Not to mention Albretch Goertz is mentioned as having an influence on the 240z's design. Its a bit old by now really.
  17. As much as I'd love to read it (I could find it last night I went to 3 stores where they have lots of magazines) its a new article and I would rather it not appear as a scan here. If it were an old out of print out of publication article from the 70's no problem, but for a new article in a new magazine there are copyright issues etc..
  18. Thanks heading to the Newsagent now to check it out.
  19. I can upload them manually to the site if needed. File size restrictions are just there to prevent us using up all our disk space on the server.
  20. When Mike initially mentioned such a thing in the Australian desert somewhere I was tempted to go looking. Heck I'd be up for an adventure in Morocco . My sister was talking about doing this rally http://www.plymouth-banjul.co.uk/ Which goes through Morocco.
  21. Thanks guys appreciate it.
  22. Haha, come to Ireland everything is GREEN! Its funny traveling through the countryside here and I look at the window of the car and everything is just Green, then I think back to Oz and how everything is a shade of brown or yellow.
  23. Where can I get a copy of said magazine?
  24. My 73 had a toebar fitted but they somehow managed to bolt it to the bumper and the moustache bar. Who thought towing in a Zed was a good idea?
  25. I understand what you are getting at Alan, but at least he is asking us for help identifying these vehicles. We all have to start somewhere too I guess...
