    Targa Class Rules

Good idea mate Point 4, does that mean you could run an RB engine?

Yeah choke fully out and mine will climb to about 3500rpm, the idea behind the choke is for initial start up pull her right out, then as temp climbs just slowly push it in, till its warm. A warm Z should be able to idle at about 700-800rpm without choke. Biggest problem with the choke is often the centre console snaps and the cable comes loose as the screw that holds it in place doesn't work properly then.
  3. Yeah I know all about Mike . He hooked me up with L14 rods and as you say has a collection of goodies don't you Mike .

  6. In a friendly kind of way. You see the (Victorian's often referred to as Mexican's due to being South of the Border) tend to steal cars from the New South Welshmen (NSW) and vice versa. We (Victorian's) get blamed for stealing all the Zeds out of NSW. I was taking the piss with Sulio for spelling Sydney wrong though .
  7. Where did you get the Gnose, what kind of mould is it 3 / 5 piece?
  8. LMAO The Winner is Syd-e-ney http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJeb-PGP51U
  9. Its absurd that anyone should design a site now that requires IE. Although I had no problems on my MAC running Firefox.

Fuel economy of the old L-series isn't too bad provided you have electronic ignition and run well tuned SU carbs. I prefer keeping the original L-series engine in my Zeds, but engine swaps are common. If fuel economy isn't a problem then L-series engines can be made to perform well. I personally wouldn't put a CA18DET in my Zed, but I'm sure it can be done easily.
  11. Well I do work in the Google Analytics part of Google . Graphs is my jobby job
  12. Looks like a great start, anticipating what you will do with it .
  13. That's great Warren, I assume you got an email as you are subscribed to their mailing list? Will have to check if traffic to the site went up as a result.
  14. Well my hat goes off to you, good to see you saving these cars otherwise they would meet the crusher .
  15. Great advice I totally agree N42 for non turbo app. While on the topic apparently the MN42 found on the US Nissan Maxima is a great engine head. Think they are only in the US market though. So next best thing is the N42.
  16. No need to apologise or make excuses, she is a basket case so putting her back on the road is good for everyone. I think we all know what the cost of resurrecting such a car would be, if you are happy with it that will be the main thing.
  17. Considered doing the black bonnet on my Zcar. Think it looks good as its very reminiscent of the old rally cars to me. Black Watanabe's would be needed or those lovely wheels the Rally cars had, not sure what there called though.
  18. Think his username on here was lambs, had lots of knowledge. Not sure what he's up to at the moment though.

    WORK

Yeah I love the Work Equip 01 and 03 on Zeds they look awesome. I'd love a set for my Z.
  20. Just drive it in the rain. Its an old car yes but eventually you will probably strip it get it on a rotissorie and do a full ground up resto - not now though. Until then enjoy the fact that you can get an odd dent in it and its not perfect. Work on the mechanics of it, don't be too precious with it. I'm speaking from someone who used to stress about my car all the time. The reality is you could be so worried about little things like rust and dents, but unfortunately (hopefully not) some drunk driver or just some idiot drive could come along and smash the whole thing to bits and there you were stressing about a spot of rust. Yes treat the rust to prevent it getting worse, but drive it in the rain. Its not a show car yet! . NR240 (Nigels old 240z now owned by Sexual_Sushi) he told me how he used to stress over the car and not drive it in the rain, he said he regretted that and had started driving it in the rain. He has obviously sold it now and probably thinks he was being really silly from the way he was explaining it to me.
  21. I'm trying to get www.vintagejdm.com up and running to cover all sorts of classic Japanese cars but to be honest right now there isn't much activity on the site. Its hard work keeping 1 website up to date . I would try carsales.com.au for now, saw 1 or 2 on there. Its a rare bird now the old Roadster.
  22. Good to see, hope you enjoy driving it around again . Are you going to register it and get it on the road?
  23. Sounds good mate, I've been in London a few times will let you know when I'm heading back to your Island next . Still have to see Wales and Scotland and explore more of England .
  24. Look fantastic good to know Rankins is good at this sort of work.
  25. Nice, but I'm not in Australia at the moment and shouldn't be buying Zparts (that can wait till when I get back - good in theory but I still look on EvilBay!). Nice to know all the same. Think I may have met Trevor once ages ago trying to source hard to find interior bits. You still living in Australia Charlie Boy? I think I read you were heading to England?
