  1. I thought this thread was going to be related to the 240z theft we had recently. Glad it wasn't.
  2. Hey mate what was the reason you didn't use that rear hatch? Does it needs lots of work? Is it straight?
  3. For those who have done this course before, should I bring a panel in to start working on in the first class or is it mainly a safety and intro session first night? Guess I can call and ask also.
  4. Pretty sure you don't need to weld them up. My P90 still had the notched ports but ran carbs. I'm 99% certain the intake manifold seals up against it I.e no vacuum leaks.
  5. There was about 5-6 FD RX-7s stolen in Victoria recently (end of last year), apparently an organised group also, targeting specific models. Sounds like it could be a similar group who took your car mate. I hope your car turns up and hopefully in 1 piece.

The bodywork is done, that's the hard part. Now it's all easy, pull your finger out and get on with it. Even if you do 1 small task each night for the next few weeks. You just gotta do something...
  7. 260z 2 seater in Adelaide. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1974-260z-2-seater-datsun-coupe-5-speed-manual-/261392532005 Starting price is $16k will sell for whatever auction price reaches apparently. Note: Datsun badge on lower front guards is not correct for a 260z, but I understand wanting to imitate a 240z lol. 240K steering wheel (not my thing) and racing pedals > but these are minor details. Rest of the car looks relatively honest. If it's as good as the photos depict well worth it.
  8. 260z 2+2 looking neat. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-2-2-Sports-1977-2D-Coupe-5-SP-Manual-Fuel-Injected-L28-engine-/141185844529 Man I want those headlight covers! Bidding has been aggressive early on, already at $4k + It's in my area, so if someone needs it inspected I may be able to drop by before auction end. Anyone know if this is a factory colour for the GRS30 coupe's? I feel like it is, but my knowledge of later 260z options is a bit weak compared with early 240z's etc...
  9. No 260z's all came with the flat top Hitachi carbs. Which are not as bad as you would think. The problem with them is getting a rebuild kit. Here are some 240z SU carbs (round top). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-Nissan-240Z-260Z-/111268484329 I hope you like Smurf Blue!
  10. I'm planning to migrate to Invision Power software soon. http://www.invisionpower.com/ So hopefully this nuance will be something of the past.
  11. I had a look yesterday couldn't see any. Just the US amber ones. If I spot a pair I'll try to remember this thread.
  12. Exciting stuff must be great to see it taking form.
  13. Ohhhh an early girl with the original gear knob. Welcome!
  14. I just came across this video. Recreate dashboards, air-boxes, the possibilities are endless! The backyard mechanic will be able to achieve almost anything really.
  15. Nissan Skyline GT-EX (C210) coupe for sale. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/north-ryde/cars-vans-utes/1980-nissan-skyline-gt-ex-turbo-coupe-datsun-240k-/1025494259 These have the L20ET Asking near $20k..
  16. Worth a read. http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/digital-life-news/plastic-fantastic-3d-printer-power-20140205-31zwj.html
  17. I was actually thinking of doing the same thing, based on my experience hunting down some of the early Z-car parts like the center console trim, choke and throttle knobs etc.. The center console facia, the list is endless really.
  18. Just realised original course link is dead. Try this 1. https://www.tafensw.edu.au/howex/servlet/Course?Command=GetCourse&CourseNo=29588&tpInd=Y Quick bump as this starts next week on the 11th. Not sure if anyone else has enrolled from here? But if not I'll be so ronery
  19. It's gotta be 1 of the nicest 260z 2 seater coupe's in Australia and 1 of the most original. Love the original green also.
  20. I'm pretty sure I've seen these on Yahoo! Auctions new. If I remember I'll have a look tonight for you.
  21. LOL, it looks like a nice car, but for the asking price (top dollar really) there is a few things I'd want tidied up that's for sure. No badges irks me, car looks naked without them. Also the mirrors, why oh why? My previous owner put those god awful 200B mirrors on my Z. I can't wait to discard them. I would burn them if I thought they would catch fire, sadly I don't think they would burn well. I loathe them almost as much as i hate sunroof's in Z's. . Then the SU's are not correct, looking at the interior it's missing the diamond vinyl and the center console looks a little shabby, also the horn button is well dodgy. All these little things wouldn't be hard to make right and would certainly make the car worth the asking price.
  22. haha I like your Google Search screenshot, eBay has all the parts. Problem is often the image is of an old listing you can't access anymore!
  23. This thread needs MOAR photos!
  24. Pretty sure they are same size. Although not specific to the PS30 cars but most S30s sold in the Japanese market.
