  1. I hate colour coded bumpers and rear light garnish on the S30z it was a very 90s mod. Much better with chrome bumpers and contrast on rear light panel. Did you paint with a compressor? I'm thinking of getting 1 with paint gear. Painting has always been a bit of black art to me but I've decided I want to learn. Just don't want to paint cars for people. Just my own stuff. Too much messy work for not enough pay I think.
  2. Sounds like car dealer talk to me. We all know how much we love those guys around here I feel a bit nervous about the throttle return spring.
  3. So you're a glass half full kinda guy then?
  4. Sorry to hear it was stolen mate. When I lived in Dublin and first starting working at Google I got a Google branded bike. Unfortunately everywhere I rode little "Knackers" would ask me where I got my "GOOOGUL BOIKE". Knackers = https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Dublin+Knackers&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=bADUVNvbHsbsmAXmj4GAAg&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1741&bih=836 Well once morning I came out to find my bike scratched, someone was trying to cut the lock on it. I kept it in the my apartment after that for a few weeks, but had a friend stay over (from Australia) and having only a 1 bed apartment he was sleeping in the living room. So I once again put my bike in the communal lock up area. Well literally within 2 days someone had stolen it. Scum.... My current bicycle is a few years old and the gear set is worn out on it, I'll eventually get a nice new bike like you had, but for now I know it's only worth a couple of hundred bucks as it is and I at least don't have to worry about someone relieving me of ownership of it. Not sure if that makes you feel any better, but I know how it feels. Scummy bastards!
  5. Shame my 240z is in Melbourne mate. Otherwise I might be able to bring the FD RX-7 if I'm not travelling with work etc..?
  6. Ben - how do you go about converting an old part no. to the new part no.? Do you need the help of a Nissan Dealer? I'm finding a lot of part no's are out-dated by now and not getting me far.
  7. 73 240z - $8,200 in South Australia http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mallala/cars-vans-utes/1973-datsun-240z-coupe-with-rb25-5sp/1069612574 Sadly no photos... Not original (RB25). Higher unemployment forcing people to sell toys free up some cash?
  8. Yeah we discussed that abomination earlier in the thread but the episode wasn't available to everyone. So now they can see it at least. If you're going to watch it, after you watch it follow these steps.
  9. Thanks mate, told you it was too cheap though. It was listed a whole 48 hours.
  10. Triple OER Turbo set up.
  11. That's a good price actually. Get your knave caps off get your knave caps off honey! Don't ask...
  12. Rev too cheap, you got me thinking about selling my rx7 here. :S I really don't need another project.
  13. At some point I may be driving down again. Possibly around Easter, nothing confirmed yet though. Otherwise another member might be making the trip and may be able to drop it down for something in return (probably beer haha).
  14. Agreed. I was even contemplating ways to buy it. Knowing how much work is involved getting a car to that level.
  15. Thread locked nothing good will come of it from here in.
  16. The Nissan Gloria A30 may have also run these fender mirrors. See also: http://www.flexnet.co.jp/stockdetail/cn/gloroa/kn/1529252803/ Hmm Gloria......... Which makes me think of these 2 songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0aHmMfZTEw
  17. So... I may be jumping the gun a little here. But I may have found at least 1 early fender mirror. There was actually 3 of them on Yahoo! Auctions recently, but only for left hand side (all 3). 2 of them had the square mirror and 1 had a round mirror (but the stalk looks the same). I won 1 square mirror and 1 round mirror. I missed out on the other square mirror due to being outbid. These may have been used on a 1969 Bluebird DX (AKA 510). Here is the round version for reference. Not sure what this box indicates? Non OEM part? But if you look here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,14248.msg156522.html#msg156522 You can see I found a square mirror (which didn't have any provisions for the fender loaded spring set up). So I can only assume it wasn't a fender mirror. But it could make a good donor for it's square mirror onto the stalk of the round fender mirror? Has anyone ever removed the mirror from the stalk without damaging the glass? If so how did you do it? Example of AU market mirrors. (HS30 00404 pictured below) More reference photos in this thread. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13234.msg152638.html#msg152638 Once I've got these mirrors in person I'll be able to compare and confirm if they are the same. I have to say this is probably the hardest item to find so far. I actually plan to run the JDM bullet style mirrors most of the time, but at a car show or for a press shot or whatever I'd prefer to fit OEM hubcaps and the AU market fender mirrors.
  18. More OEM madness. http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g141913750 Part no. 27400-E4100 Went for over $1000 AUD. If you need it, you need it!
  19. Ok well I hope both seller and buyer are happy. If you can prove the clock is working I'll send $5 to your paypal account. Happy to eat my own words.
  20. Ok thread cleaned up. In the interest of transparency. 1. The car was bought for around $5.5k recently. 2. The seller is affiliated with a Nissan Dealership in South Australia http://www.jarrettmotor.com.au/dgx/altHome.asp 3. The current owner has spent some cash getting the car back on the road and onto club permits. It was in storage / sitting for a while. As with any purchase of a used vehicle caveat emptor applies. Strongly advise viewing in person. 4. Seller claims everything works, I'll bet $5 the clock doesn't.
  21. I was tempted, but no manifold and they are only 40mm. Plus probably need a rebuild, makes the reco 45mm on Weber Performance with manifold look like a better deal.
  22. Yeah the problem is Nissan no longer stock them so it's old NOS that people have in storage that shows up on Yahoo! Auctions but when they do show up there is always competition for them. So it's very hard to get them cheaper than that.
  23. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7583.msg71562.html#msg71562 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,12622.msg155818.html#msg155818 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,13041.msg135875.html#msg135875 http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,9274.msg89929.html#msg89929 Looks like at least a couple of people have had good experiences with them.
  24. Another option... http://www.weberperformance.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=2_62&products_id=233 I think this company was discussed recently on here? Not sure if I can find the thread. Or if anyone has had experience with them? Tempted to get a set myself. Sounds horny on this Torana. and this 1.
