  1. I already have it on the list, just haven't updated the first page of this thread in a while.
  2. I like the video but can hardly hear you? Maybe get a lapel mic for your next video? PS: That's a lot of work you have there! But probably no more than HS30 00051.
  3. I don't know exact costs to get someone to do it and I don't know if I can recommend anyone since I do a lot of my body work myself so far. However next year marks 10 years for me at the same company, I should quality of long service leave, I am thinking I will take 2 months off and book my car in here. http://motorretro.com.au/ Instead of going to work each day I'll go to the workshop and work on the S30Z everyday and get it ready for paint or even get it painted! Not cheap, but next best option to doing the tafe class.
  4. Do the ones Stewart Wilkins sells look like (deez nuts) this? http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23900-datsun-240z-vs-fairlady-z432/?do=findComment&comment=525095
  5. I remember that street machine article on the blue 240z with rb30 turbo. It was a huge inspiration for me at the time. The clean body lines on it etc.. Is it still around? *Edit I think member biscuitballs(Gavin) may own it now? http://www.viczcar.com/forum/user/100873-biscuitballs/ http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/8885-airdams-brisbane/ Do you remember what chassis no. it was? If I recall correctly it was a 73?
  6. Still got these, quick bump for them. I saw some ashtray spares sell for $40 USD recently (chrome ring, ashtray metal parts etc..).. so these have got to be worth something to someone.
  7. Another Kobe Seiko wheel design is the "Gotti" wheels. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/6711-researching-a-le-mans-260z-info-appreciated/?p=77723 And here are the 8-spokes which to quote Alan everyone and their dog confuses with Watanabe's. See here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/14558-the-ebay-thread-2-post-ebay-parts-here/?p=194982
  8. Original Works Rally Mags made by Kobe Seiko. In this photo you can see the unique rotating nuts. What they look like on an S30Z. Good comparison shot of 3 versions. Left = Original Z432 rim. Middle = Later reproduction wheel with different center hub (accepts wheel cap). Right = Later reproduction (mid 2000's) and scaled up to 15" diameter. Has cutouts in spokes like the works rally wheels. Original Kobe Seiko wheels on Portuguese delivered HLS30. Pristine set of Z432 style wheels. Good reference post here from Alan (HS30-H) also. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13347-cams-australia-and-eligible-parts-for-s30zs/?p=157558
  9. To continue on.. here is the Z432 center caps. http://motor.geocities.jp/atakausa/miscellaneous.html NB: No D in the center. The cap on the far left is original, the rest were reproduced later. Also not quite the same but these are very similar to Italian wheels I saw on a Fiat 500 (Cromodora wheels) Which were also found on the Ferrari Dino's.
  10. Yeah discussed here. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/9553-kobe-seiko-works-rally-rims/?p=195500
  11. There is a few versions of the spare wheel hold tie bolt/assembly. Larger version (used with Z432 wheels I believe) and my HS30 #150 had it, which I think was fitted with dealer option wheels (Aunger Hotwires?) We discussed it on Classiczcars.com with Kats. http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/23900-datsun-240z-vs-fairlady-z432/?do=findComment&comment=517791
  12. My personal opinion is buy a rusted car, buy a bent car, but buying a fire damaged car... that's a whole other kettle of fish.. $8k is far too much. I personally wouldn't touch it myself. If cars worth over half a mill cannot be fixed after fire... well... a humble RS30 is a lost cause. https://www.thechronicle.com.au/news/fire-destroys-iconic-cars/24120/
  13. NOS = New Old Stock. I've managed to find NOS rear 1/4 sections and NOS bonnet/hood recently. (Refer attached pics) If you're willing to pay the price you can find this stuff still but it is getting harder.
  14. You can't go wrong with 918 orange on these cars.
  15. I would like to come, not sure yet. I am thinking my car will probably make it though hey Lurch?
  16. Get the full thing blasted and put in epoxy primer right after. Paint stripping is a pain in the arse to do mechanically... By the way what chassis number is your 240z? I see some 907 Green in there?
  17. Unfortunately I've found similar, when I've invested in restoring parts in bulk etc.. people don't factor in time it takes them to organise stuff on their own when looking at pricing I'm afraid. But these look great!
  18. That's the spirit! The only rust that scares me is the structural kind, but I've found NOS sections all around the world.
  19. It will have a reserve of $3000 or more..
  20. https://touch.trademe.co.nz/motors/listing/view/1403749478 Bonnet in NZ for sale.
  21. Real Fairlady Z & '71 240Z Projects Package Deal http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/58373-real-fairlady-z-71-240z-projects-package-deal/ See also: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/58365-selling-my-genuine-fairlady-z-71-240z-package-deal/ It's 1 rough pudding...but it is an early build S30Z too!
  22. Not really, I sold mine a while ago and then suddenly there was a rush to put a few on the market and they all disappeared again. If you really want 1 I see plenty on Yahoo! Auctions but you'll have to get it here.
  23. Yeah up towards Newcastle... I asked also about E88 heads will see what happens.
  24. Thanks Mark, I have no ambitions to make these wheels yet. As you say that would be an expensive project and at this stage I should focus on getting the body work done and the motor running on #150. Then I can worry about those luxuries.
