Nice, looks like it was a good buy. RB30 is a good motor and should be reliable and parts everywhere from the R31 (not seen much these days) Skyline and VL Commodore's. If you go turbo, I doubt you'll even need an RB25 head on it. MIA engines in DeeWhy should be able to look after you. I met another member this evening with a 260z in Campbelltown who asked about going for a drive. I reckon we should definitely organise something soon, the weather is getting nicer.

What's this early rotary (clone) going to sell for? https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/2017-shannons-melbourne-spring-classic-auction/G99160TKEPG9T13/ She's not a genuine M10A coupe. It has the 1200 tail lamps, grille and dashboard. 1969 Mazda 1200 (Modified 13b) Coupe Guiding Range: $65,000 - $75,000

I believe sound is as good, the difference is that drivability wise I'm told the Mikuni/Solex are far better! I have a pair of Type R Mikuni 40mm carbs I'd sell for around $800-$900 mark... just need to find a third carb. Last 1 I was trying to get sold for $500+ (but it was close to NOS in condition).

I might have 1 in Melbourne...won't be able to check for a while though!

Bump... still got these. Make an offer?

Were the standard production colours a grayish colour? Was it a powder coated finish or something else? I guess I'm opening up that rabbit hole aren't I? I was going to get mine powder coated but after watching that video above I may attempt to paint it first and see how it turns out. I saw this finish recently on a LARGE NISSAN cover and really like it. However I also like the subtle black version as seen on the SMALL NISSAN cover. But I just sold a 'small' version hoping to find a Nissan 2400 OHC cover at some stage. I quite like the contrast of the red cover against Safari Gold and in lieu of the standard orange airbox that SUs have in an L-series engine bay. But on the other hand I like the subtle finish also. Good thing about valve covers is you can easily switch them around I guess...

Eoi - Very Straight Fluted/Vented Bonnet (260z)
gav240z replied to gav240z's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
The original bonnet from the car fit better or the NOS bonnet fit better? Yeah $600 is about right... mine has cost me at least double that and a big part of the cost was shipping.. But I've probably spent more than that in time / money for the night course and materials repairing the bent 1 from HS30 00150. Of course I have learnt a lot from it and you can't put a price on that part of it and it is the cars original bonnet! -
Wrinkle red finish on valve cover. Looks like this is the black version on an S20 engine.

Yes Niles got that passenger side 1/4 panel.. (in Switzerland) and I got this driver side 1 recently. Cost a small fortune, but the 1/4 panel on HS30 00051 has had a bit of a hit and needs many hours spent on it to put right so this seemed like a better idea. They do come up for sale, but not often! I managed to also get a NOS hood/bonnet recently. Well at least I think it is, will find out when I collect it soon!

Yes well all his 2 minute sound byte videos are, but the Facebook kids love it.

Much better video quality this time, I could hear you! Rear of floor did look bad. I am hoping to salvage my floors. They are not too bad, a bit of panel beating and blasting might make them look decent again.

Nah #FakeNews, those South East Asia specials look the same, therefore they must perform the same. -
Peter I have a spare turret it's a little rough but has no frame. I have another on its way from the US with a turret and frame still together. Welcome to use it as a reference until I'm ready to unpick my roof on the 70.

#3 lid has had a repair (cracked anyway) so better off ordering via www.240zrubberparts.com if all you need is a lid. http://www.240zrubberparts.com/apps/webstore/products/show/6337398 No brackets sorry.

Anyone using 1 of these or have feedback on them? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Portable-Mid-Rise-Scissor-Car-Hoist-Vehicle-Scissor-Lift-Tyre-Shop-Home-Hoist-/122536242054?hash=item1c87baab86:g:iRgAAOSw7FRWVBVy Reason I'm looking at them is limited head height in garage and currently renting my place so need something that can easily be removed later. Thoughts?
-
Also honestly #4 is excellent really the repair is ok, but from the top side you cannot see any cracks or damage, if you re-chrome the trim ring it will look as good as a $400-$500 original. #2 is also very good with a clean up and the crack could be better repaired. I've seen similar sell for $250 USD on eBay US. If there is no interest here I'll advertise there.

If you see a combination of parts you want make an offer. Ashtray bits sold for around $40 AUD on eBay here recently. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/152669877221?rmvSB=true I prefer not to remove the chrome rings on these too often as the little tabs break from old age...

And a lot of plastic welding... No I didn't make them. They were done by Jay Ataka of JDM car parts. https://jdm-car-parts.com/collections/interior-trim-nissan-datsun-fairlady-z-240z-260z-280z-280zx/products/reproduction-fuse-cover-ash-tray-for-datsun-240z-series-1-1969-8-1971
