  1. If only it was that easy to short the market.. Worth watching however is "The Big Short" If not for any other reason than Margot Robbie in a Bathtub. RE: Classic cars as investments, if you have somewhere to store them I agree, good way to store wealth.
  2. Attached a few photos of the area, I believe it's the area in-front of the heater / air intake box under the windscreen cowl. Common spot for them to go, so probably likely it's gone on your car too. I was going from memory and thought it covered the area with the pressing in it, but it's just below that spot so is probably not too difficult to fabricate and likely worse than it looks in photos. So no big deal if you think your 1 is no good, but figured if it was a car that was already going to car heaven I'd take a section. RE: Roof, PM me a price as I may buy that and import it over here. Just gotta get it to a warehouse in Charlotte which isn't too far from you from the looks of it.
  3. I've found the show has improved over time, they did an Aston Martin DB6 - episode I watched last night and it was done really well. They also did a good job on a fairly rotten BMW 2002 Turbo. It was as rotten as many S30Z's we've seen.
  4. Agree Howard was political poison and the rot started with him and Costello...short term thinkers.
  5. HS30 00354? https://www.facebook.com/groups/DatsunClassifiedsAustralia/permalink/1848726565198033/?sale_post_id=1848726565198033&comment_id=1848915378512485&notif_id=1523928276018637&notif_t=group_comment_mention&ref=notif
  6. Not entirely true, when I import panels via sea freight I get charged GST (on goods under $1000 AUD worth), I believe it's because they charge GST based on the container value and so GST is applied to all items within. Not individual items. There is no free ride, hence find stuff locally if you can.
  7. We could go back and forth forever, I'm a crasknik and everyone else is a permabull in this country when it comes to Real Estate. Your (our) super is gone, it's all tied up in the banks and they are going to sink... Or it will be raided in a bank bail out.. Either way it's gone, forget it. It was a good idea while it lasted lol.. So the VL is worth $300k, because it's a store of wealth. Which the Government can't easily take away from you...
  8. On the topic of eBay scammers. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y0WsbvNRxkY
  9. I still think further price falls in Melbourne and Sydney over this year. I expect prices to be 10% lower in Sydney and 5% lower in Melbourne by year end.
  10. Pretty sure that's NOT the L24 you're looking for..move along..
  11. If you'll sell a single Type T (any) cheap, let me know? These can be converted to Type R.. (just need to change cover and other bits) http://www.rmcarburetors.net/oem_toyota_solex_type_r.htm and I have 2 Type R's that need a third to make a complete set. However a pair and triplets would sell better than a triplet and single.. so no big deal if you wish to sell complete or the lot. Good price, for those inclined to rebuild them. I am starting to really like these side draught carbs and have a collection now.
  12. I'm glad you went to the effort to make the firewall piece, but I found that Revive Jalopy in Japan has them also. http://revivejalopy.web.fc2.com/catalog_date/catalog5.pdf(page 5).
  13. https://finance.nine.com.au/2018/04/16/15/49/1988-vl-commodore-walkinshaw-sells-for-340000 When Val's se for $300k+ ?
  14. Agree on both, problem is no original engine for a start and doesn't have many parts... (only what you see in the photos)... So it depends on what the current owner is asking price wise. But on the positive side, low vin # and 905 red originally. The rear half looks 10x better than the front half. Worth doing for someone I'm sure.
  15. Missing parts easy, body though... that looks bad.
  16. Good Episode this 1, man battling cancer for 10 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt1XRQd6rXI
  17. Iki made the lower turn signals etc.. but I believe OEM headlamps were Koito. https://photos.app.goo.gl/a0GCPjYGoQKLIz0v2
  18. HS30 00127 has shown up in bits.. https://m.facebook.com/545408145/posts/pcb.1310130635786045/?photo_id=10157342004178146&mds=%2Fphotos%2Fviewer%2F%3Fphotoset_token%3Dpcb.1310130635786045%26photo%3D10157342004178146%26profileid%3D570401842%26source%3D48%26refid%3D8%26_ft_%3Dqid.6544547287153675353%253Amf_story_key.2222512047640426229%253Atop_level_post_id.1310130635786045%253Asrc.22%26__tn__%3DEH-R%26cached_data%3Dfalse%26ftid%3D&mdf=1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/bGJGs2cMtNFBtygy2
  19. Always had a fascination with the Corvair, kind of like Tucker motors with their air cooled rear mounted engines. Very cool stuff.
  20. Yeah I have to say I really like these Canadian Mighty Car Mods guys. I got caught up watching quite a few of their videos last night. I should have been in bed. The weld repairs are a little "how ya going" but I admire his tenacity and considering the rusty heap he started with not bad. Plus it's better sheet metal work than what he had to begin with. I must say it made me want a Roadster. I mean I've wanted 1 for years, but now I really want 1.
  21. Yeah looking from my desktop definitely the same car, same mirrors, rear louvre, booklets, radio position etc.. Half the Pickles photos are in the Gosford Car Museum also. As for adding it to the collection, tempting just so I can re-enact an Edward Lees video with it.
  22. Re: rear slam panel thanks. I know osmeone after the battery tray area (opposite side to US cars). That section. I may also be interested in a cut out of the firewall. It's not a huge section and I could probably fabricate it, but if it's not too much hassle I can show you what I need. Looks like the roof is gone. I'm guessing there isn't much left that's of use? Just thinking if it's a carcass may as well pick the bones dry. ?
  23. #695 I think. https://photos.app.goo.gl/58GXvEQD0dcm5szi1
  24. I think that's the old Edward Lee's 240z, that went to Gosford car Museum and now for sale again. Nice car, glad Mr Grubby Lee's no longer has it. ?
  25. Reidus and Cletus
