  1. I was joking, mine is not for sale. Just showing off sadly..
  2. Honest looking 73 240z. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Datsun-Z-Series-/273171876550?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
  3. Probably have to say a few hail mary's after this, but I kind of like the Ferrari style grille on this G-nose S30Z. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Datsun-Z-Series-208Z/382439764002
  4. For those that don't consider themselves purists. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/142762750347?vectorid=229466&lgeo=1&item=142762750347&rmvSB=true
  5. Sorry mate, I bought that 1 for $10... but they are very rare and I was pleasantly surprised to get it that cheap.
  6. $10 mate.. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d274925988
  7. Gotta be sister/brother car to this 1? (HS30 01555) http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/6874-brads-71-240z/
  8. Not that I'm aware of. NLA as far as I'm aware.
  9. Are you sure they all had it until late 71? I am under the impression only very early cars had this and there was 2 different lengths of 71A box driveshaft to accommodate the change. I don't think #150 has the forward mounted diff (but it did have a 71c box also).
  10. I used Vinney's in Dandenong and they did my rear bumper for around $500 (inc. overriders) very happy with their work. https://www.facebook.com/AAVinneys/ http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12896-wtb-rear-bumper-2-seater-s30z/?p=186589 They did it cheaper for cash
  11. So I think it would be good if we could get a few of us together (it's been a while since we all met up in person). So a few ideas on meet up location: http://www.tramshedssydney.com.au/ Not sure what parking is like. https://www.queensparkshed.com.au/ Serves beer and open late weekends - has parking out front of park (keep an eye on cars etc..). Balmoral Boat Shed. http://www.theboathousebb.com.au/#about Similar to above has parking out front. The Laneway Cammeray - Has Free 2 hour car park. https://lanewaycafecammeray.com.au/ Kirribilli - parking may be a pain... but The Throttle Shop is also there and has a cafe (not sure on opening times for their cafe though). http://www.celsiuscoffeeco.com.au/ https://classicthrottleshop.com/ Rising Sun Garage in Newtown. - Parking may be an issue. https://www.risingsunworkshop.com/ Open to other suggestions?
  12. It looks honest, as in original and not screwed about with. But sitting in a shed 21 years, brakes will likely need attention as will cooling system, rubbers etc.. need a good going over in other words. Body work appears sound in photos. Have to see it in person really. If a solid car in my opinion $20k is reasonable. But others balk at 2+2s priced that high. However history will prove me right I'm sure and I like the 2+2s. Especially on the open road.
  13. It can't be worse than the Car SOS Mercedes Pagoda.. when that came back from the dippers I very nearly fell over.
  14. HS30 11243 - It has been for sale for a while. A good look at the underside reveals some less than good rust repair work if memory serves correct. It looks like an ok car if you're planning to rework some of it. Edit more photos here. https://photos.app.goo.gl/2nlnnpKmhIXoouj63
  15. OERs are another option and have external adjustment on float and accelator pumps I believe. You can get a kit inc. manifold for around $2,000 which seems like a good deal to me. https://www.rhdjapan.com/oer-racing-carburetor-kit-45mm-wire-type-l-series.html However I have heard mixed reviews on quality. But a friend of mine who rebuilds Mikunis in North America sold his 44s and bought OER and swears by them being good. The good thing about OERs is they take Weber jets. I've driven a Triple 40mm Weber L28 and a Triple 44mm Mikuni L28 (my car), best modification I've done on my car. However I was previously using SUs and I'm not 100% sure but I think it had L24 size needles only. I plan to check as it would explain the lackluster performance.
  16. Yeah I was gutted, that Datsun and the RX-2 had the potential to win the series (from what I've seen so far), the Datsun is a 10 second car (low 10s) and the RX-2 possibly a 9 second car... Everything else at best has been high 10's. But I agree the rules are definitely not evenly applied and the cry baby in the blue truck in the episode before who stalled on the line should have lost.. The black fella in the Buick should have won fair and square if the other got disqualified.
  17. Anyone watching "Fastest Car" on Netflix? I'm up to the episode with John Wayland and his white zombie Datsun. It's an interesting series regardless of if you're into drag racing or not. Bit weird they added Gasoline sounds to his Datsun 1200 though haha.
  18. Pair of 40mm Solex/Mikuni carbs. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/potts-point/engine-engine-parts-transmission/solex-carburettors-/1181584818?utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=LF-engine_engine_parts_transmission
  19. I'm in the Inner West if you wanted to catch up at some point, but I reckon maybe we should have an Auszcar Beer night (responsible drinking) somewhere? Maybe out towards Home and Away area. Alternatively MotorRetro have been doing events here and there (show n' shine) and I missed the last 1 last week. http://motorretro.com.au/ Could possibly piggy back on that. They post events on their FB page. https://www.facebook.com/motorretro/
  20. California Air Resources Board = CARB.
  21. Welcome ZZZChris from Earth, it is customary to post a few photos!
  22. Some great old rally photos in here (not found many S30z's though!) http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthread.php?5968607-The-Official-Vintage-rally-photo-thread!
  23. Lofty Drews Works Rally 240z is in NZ? http://www.drivesouth.co.nz/blog/driver-car-reunited-decades-on My emphasis in bold below. It looks like Autocourt's website is here: http://autocourt.net.nz/contact.aspx I wonder has anyone seen this car and know what registration it is? *Edit found this link with a photo of the car and Lofty Drews. (photo attached here) - Having a hard time copying text. https://www.pressreader.com/new-zealand/otago-daily-times/20180421/282621738313549 I'm guessing it's a different car to the 1 located in Zama - Nissan's Heritage Collection? http://www.themotorhood.com/themotorhood/2016/1/15/inside-zama-nissans-not-so-secert-vault
  24. Make an L-30 or L-31 cover out of these Turbo covers. https://preview.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/nissan/engines/listing/1608318343
