  1. R32 LS conversion, don't worry it's a 4 door only.
  2. Common spot for rust on these cars... I'm interested in how the rear spoiler turns out once it arrives (quality wise).
  3. Yes and no, I actually think there is a market for high level restored S30Z's, the problem is many take too many shortcuts when fixing these cars and just slap em' together give em' a lick of paint and then expect to get good money for them.
  4. Hung is that a 360 degree camera?
  5. If you can handle the Canadian
  6. No problem, I might remove mine too.
  7. I was looking at these guys but in the end bought aftermarket ones for my cars. http://www.aclassmetal.com.au
  8. A comprehensive overview, thanks. I'm not surprised at the cost of set up. It's always more expensive than you anticipate. I find my car on Triples has better driveability than twin SUs.. so I guess it all comes down to how you set it up.
  9. Wondering if the pipe can be easily replaced? I was contemplating removing mine and re-plating / replacing?

  12. Small progress, is good progress...
  13. LOL... I think I agree with both perspectives, in that I agree with Richard on the assertion that it's impressive that an S30Z is able to be modified and keep up with exotic machinery, but then again, what does that mean? Sure part of it is driver skill and experience, it's surely a lot more expensive to break some of those other cars and that gives the driver / owner confidence to drive an S30Z harder knowing it can be replaced at a lower price point. I still cheer on the Green Hornet and the Siddin's effort in their "targa" 240z. But both cars represent a significantly modified engine outside of what would have been available at the time. So that's also kind of the point.
  14. I don't disagree, it's a great package and is part of why I love these cars.
  15. Now you know why the Guru has a sore back.. porting is back breaking work. It's also why it's expensive, so much time invested.
  16. Might have something to do with 45+ years of engine innovation and the fact that the motor is a full 1.1ltr bigger than the 2.4ltr it came with originally and running Triple 50mm Mikuni/Solex. It's still impressive, but not exactly close to showroom configuration by any stretch.
  17. I'm not complaining, glad to see they are listed "correctly" and fixing a paint colour is easy. I think I already have 5 sets of these D caps anyway... all in various condition. You are correct, you will be in deep money wise with the originals by the time you've restored them. What we really need is more rust repair sections, in particular a rear valance section would have been nice, but I've started now. Usually these things become available after I've already gone to significant effort to source originals.
  18. Now being sold as reproductions with a flat grey colour (not quite right).. https://m.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-69-70-240Z-D-HUBCAPS-1st-Generation/123021432102?_trkparms=pageci%3A9136785c-27e5-11e8-a6f6-74dbd1800d55%7Cparentrq%3A270059c11620abc2dbdaa347fffc50e4%7Ciid%3A1&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236
  19. Before buying a new set, probably should confirm they really are stuffed.. I found stuck pistons on calipers but the bore was ok, just the pistons had some corrosion / damage.
  20. Now up over $50k AUD and people thought Frank's Fairlady Z at Shannon's was too pricey. ?
  21. 280z 2+2 from Gas Monkey Garage is listed on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-Datsun-280-Z/222880182790?hash=item33e4b1b206%3Ag%3AAzEAAOSwIWxapyqc Already over $30,000 USD..quick buy up all the 2+2's

  23. For the 280zx fans! 6 o'clock cluster. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d273557273
  24. 1995 Mazda SP RX-7 sold for $112k I view these as the equivalent of the PS30-SB (Z432-R) although perhaps a little less raw than a Z432-R was from the factory. These are a homologation special (built in Australia - not Japan) to win at the 12 hour Production Races in the 90s. So they still have sunroof's, radios, interior trim etc.. unlike the bare bones Z432-R. http://cp_www.tripod.com/rotary/pg12.htm
  25. More progress. Tack welded into place. This metal is super thin and I was using Mig welder to join the pieces together. So it's easy to blow holes in it.
