Administrators gav240z Posted October 12, 2017 Administrators Posted October 12, 2017 By the way where did you get the Momo hub? I found a few on eBay but they all have ugly plastic shrouds around them. I am weighing up the Mach hub adaptor vs sourcing a cheap Momo with the Mach adapter for it. I think I'll probably find it cheaper to just get the full hub and horn assembly. Quote
Riceburner Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) So.... this happened.. IMG_20171012_114549.jpg I still need to buy the hub (or momo hub + mach adaptor) and horn assembly... First impression was, this is really really light. I expected it to weigh more like the stock wheel or compe wheel but it's incredibly light. Did you find the same? I have to admit I liked the polished alloy look more, but the black is probably less common. I also didn't buy this new, traded it for something else so colour wasn't so much of an option. 23915404009_50bccb0b5d_b (1).jpg Mine does not say "mach" on the front spoke (only has Mach on the underside of the bottom spoke), I believe there was a few variations however of this sort of "branding". Not sure which S30Z to fit it to yet (first world S30Z problems I suppose). Looks awesome! The weight is quite off putting at first but they are strong. I think the black will be good if your going for the race look like the picture. If not PM me, I might be interested in swapping. I sourced the hub from a seller 'Eric Bauer' I think he's on another Z specific forum but he sells JDM parts on eBay quite often. I went with the thick hub and it gives a really nice driving position. No power steering needed with this wheel! Edited November 15, 2017 by Riceburner gav240z 1 Quote
Riceburner Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) Got the new metric factory gauge setup fitted and it seems quite accurate compared to the Kameari set. Also fitted some Yoshimura 'dual funnel' ram tubes. Supposedly gives the best of both worlds, short stack is 10mm then the second stack is 65mm long. I have a 20mm CNC'd spacer that will add to the lengths and allow me to run an air box or ITG filter down the track. The body of the carbs are angled and won't allow an air box or backing plate to bolt up without interference issues. Edited November 15, 2017 by Riceburner gav240z 1 Quote
d3c0y Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 You need to head to a dyno with those stacks. I'm so curious to see if they work! Quote

Riceburner Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 Managed to get a little shed time, I always felt the shifter was too close to the dash. So I chopped a bendy shifter and welded it to the current one. Result is a much better position, it’s taller too for that old school feel. Also, the OS Giken super lock has arrived! I might have a go at setting this one up myself using Nissan’s Yellow bible, if I can’t figure it out I’ll drop it off to Chris Wood. He’s always done a great job on my diffs in the past and he’s cheap too. The Torsen centre will be for sale on here soon. Ponyo240z, hmd and C.A.R. 3 Quote
Riceburner Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 @hmd Chris is an engineer, he has machinery in his shed and works from home. He does plenty of Datsun stuff. If you want his details PM me. Quote
Riceburner Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Old Torsen diff centre out and sold. Came out in very good condition, magnetic drain plug was spotless and no signs of wear. OS Giken super lock installed and lock wired. I used a bearing heater to install new bearings, so much easier than pressing them on, new seals and the special Subaru diff cover gasket with the baffle in front of the breather. All wipe patterns and specs checked out. 1.3L of OS-250R oil. Short test drive, you don’t even know it’s there! Quote
KatoKid Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Nice diff porn there.....Looking forward to the arrival of my OSG LSD Quote
