peter t Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Yep 6 into one three inch pipe is kinda loud. ;D ;D Quote
peter t Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Got the right bit of pipe made today. Ready to drive again as soon as I get it fitted. Quote
peter t Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Got some more goodies for the Z. A new timing chain kit and front cover bolts from MSA, and a electric power steering kit from the guys at Z Power steering. The power steer kit came with the wrong column so if anyone wants one cheap and has a four bolt column it will save me sending it back to the US of A. The timing kit and bolts are for my L28 I am slowly building. Quote
oldmates260z Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Will be very interested to see how the power steering goes Quote
peter t Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Will be very interested to see how the power steering goes Should be good. comes with a potentiometer to dial I more or less. Quote
PeterAllen Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Peter, what do you mean by a "four bolt column"? Are you just referring the the plate which attaches to the firewall and appears to have a shaft bearing attached? If so, couldn't you just knock-up a new plate? Quote

Moderators PB260Z Posted October 26, 2014 Moderators Posted October 26, 2014 Got some more bling today. My wife's wedding anniversary present. Hell roses only whittle and die. Old post revival, great steering wheel, is that from "thezstore" ? Cheers PB Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 26, 2014 Administrators Posted October 26, 2014 Old post revival, great steering wheel, is that from "thezstore" ? Cheers PB It's a replica (?) of the Nissan Compe wheel, they are all over Yahoo! Auctions but for some reason bidding goes crazy for the genuine or Nismo reproduction ones. The replica's seem to be reasonably priced but not sure how quality compares to an original. It's not obvious from photos as to what the difference is. Quote
peter t Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Picked up the head today. now I think I have everything ready to begin the assembley of the L28. Quote
peter t Posted November 30, 2014 Author Posted November 30, 2014 L28 Head coming together. Young mate next door is a mechanic and cost me a can of Mid to set rockers. Quote
peter t Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Head is looking good so on to the block. Got the crank in now it is going to storm so packed up for today. Quote
peter t Posted December 13, 2014 Author Posted December 13, 2014 Block is all together so fitted the head today and should have the engine closed up tomorrow ready for dropping into the car in the future. Don't worry about the pond pics as that's just me not knowing what to do. Quote
peter t Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 Some more bits turned up today and only a couple more and I can get this sucker in the Z. What do you think about the GOLD instead of yellow rocker cover? Quote
reverendzed Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Great work Pete - it seems to go from good to great! Quote
Brabham Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I like the gold as well, think it will look better than the yellow Good work Quote
oldmates260z Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Sorry but I like the Yellow It is more like the colour you expect to see under a bonnet and will likely wear better in time. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted January 1, 2015 Moderators Posted January 1, 2015 The gold will be an absolute standout , are planning giving anything else the gold treatment, Carbies ? Back in the day John Delorean tried this didn't sell very well though Quote
peter t Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Last bit arrived from the US today. Now I only need to find a spacer plate, fly wheel and bolts and we can wack it in. Quote
