Happy New Year All. I have a L28 in the shed so I thought I might give it a freshen up. The tear has begin. Not going to go hot just a good street motor that might sound a little bit hot. 8)

How do you make it sound hot? Pull a plug lead off to give it a lumpy idle?

Peter

How are your new rad and fans working?  Is there much difference compared to the old system?  I blew a rad hose going into the city the other day so now I am going through and replacing all hoses etc. I have an aluminium rad so was going to put it in also and am considering the electric fans.  Was the wiring much of a job and where did you get the setup and fans?  Will the stock alternator provide enough juice for fans and battery?

Nice looking job.  Will have to organise our after Xmas run once car is back on the road so I can see your mods.  Always an inspiration.

Cheers Alan

Na put a great big GREEK muffler on the back and pull the choke out. Works for most of the cock heads that I see about. ;)

Oh True, you can turn it off from inside then too plus you get the added benefit of flames!

Well got the tax chq back, Paid the rates and rang SWM. Goodies arrived today. I bought a flex-hone to deglaze the bores as well. Also looking at buying some soda blasting media and should be able to do small jobs for a small fee. Just to keep me in beer. ;D

Good to see that I am not the only one to use a clothes line as painting rack  ;)

Deglazed the bores today. Next step wash out the block and reinstall the crank with new bearings, then pistons with new rings and rod end bearings.
