Sirpent Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Tinker Tinker LOL Look who's calling the kettle black with their mods ! If only we loved those closest to us as much as our cars. Quote
luvemfast Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 Look who's calling the kettle black with their mods ! John, your mods a way more crazy than mine ever will be. Well, since my wifes car broke down last night and she needed my car today...... I have driven the Z to work Probably a good idea to test some things before Winton on Sunday anywho. The news is all good, power steering doesn't leak, oil temp actually works and it didn't break down (or a sweat). Looking forwards to hitting the track Sunday, beating my old time and finding the next weakest link............. Quote
Sirpent Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Looking forwards to hitting the track Sunday, beating my old time and finding the next weakest link............. What if it's the Driver ? :-\ Quote

MaygZ Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Thats why I'm doing a driver course at Sandown April 23rd. You coming Benny? Or are you doing your hair? I don't know why these mere mortals want to take on Simons. Love the pistons and rods. We need to talk. What is it with you guys and all this 'had laying around' stuff. You've all got way too much money. Quote
Sirpent Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Way to many debts that should read ! Thats why Im selling everything. Quote
luvemfast Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 You've all got way too much money. Now I've never been accused of that before. Just have a nice sized garage with lots of parts collected over the years Quote
peter mc Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 have started your build, hear a pick of the crank have taken some weight from the counterweights also have modified the pistons as they hit the spark plug but it all coming together, will post more picks tomorrow Quote
luvemfast Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Sexy crank Can't wait to be passing those cars I've always been passed by on the track Quote
reverendzed Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Simon, I might be a planker but your a big cranker! Rev. Quote
luvemfast Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 Simon, I might be a planker but your a big cranker! Rev. Not a big stroke cranker though Did you take that pic after a few beers Peter? Beer goggles anyone? Just as an update, whipped the engine out of the car on Friday night. Will give the bay a clean up of the oil splashed around, then she's ready for a new heart. Dad has stolen the triples off it, so I now have to put together the brand new set of 44PHH Mikuni's. Unless Brabham wants to trade for his 50PHH's? Quote
luvemfast Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Wurp wurp wurp wurp wurp Woooooooooooooooooooooo That what guys are going to here as I pass them on the track........ Especially Gerhard Nice big bores Pete Shot from underneath? Don't know if I've posted about the specs? But.... P90 head, porting by PMC 89mm Domed forged pistons, custom made at JE pistons. 140mm long forged rods (pin height raised in pistons), Max Speed Rods. Crank and block with modified and lugged oil passages. Controversial Block Girdle, supplied by me. Arizona Z Car aluminium baffled sump. ATI harmonic balancer. 4140 lightened race flywheel, with Sachsen clutch (TBA) Recurved, mechanized electronic dizzy. More headwork TBA If this doesn't put a smile on my face when I drive it, I'm selling the Z! just a few picks of your L28 mate Oh, should that read L30? Quote
Sirpent Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Wurp wurp wurp wurp wurp Woooooooooooooooooooooo Nice Simon Geeeeeeeez its going to be a sight when all of us middle aged old farts are running around in our toys one day LOL Quote
luvemfast Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 Geeeeeeeez its going to be a sight when all of us middle aged old farts are running around in our toys one day LOL Yeah, I guess us younger ones will enjoy seeing you do that Quote
Riceburner Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 L30........ I don't think this will be allowed, you should go with an L24 instead What's the predicted power output from this? Quote
luvemfast Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 What's the predicted power output from this? Whatever yours is +10% Its pretty much your engine with a bigger bore, longer rod length and more compression. However, my car weighs more. So will be intersting on the track together. Quote
NZeder Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 FYI my old L30 just like this but 90mm bore, L28 crank, L24 rods and custom pistons I got from Japan (old Tomie items cast but only a few g's heaver than a 87mm JE item) is making 215PS at the wheels on 40mm webers at 5450 the new owner is happy enough So that might give you an idea on the power levels you should get - and more I hope Quote
luvemfast Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 it will make 170kw atw no problem Woooooooooo Gunna pull some awesome skids.............. In my pants Quote
Sirpent Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Whatever yours is +10% it will make 170kw atw no problem Pretty good Simon, Thats about -10% less than mine should make. Sorry mate just having a small dig LOL Quote
luvemfast Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 Just recieved some pics from Peter with the dummy fit of the bottom end. But unfortunatley, Max Speeding Rods have supplied incorrect parts. My forged rods have Ø21mm small ends when they should be Ø22mm. I am currentley bringing this to their attention and will let you all know the outcome. But for now, car porn! Quote
Roberto Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Don't know if I've posted about the specs? But.... What size chokes on your mikuni's? Quote
