1975 Datsun 260Z 2 seater, $18K

http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/detail/cars/unique-cars/datsun/260z/42106

There's another Z in the pic behind the one advertised.

I wonder what 'other' cars he has for sale(as mentioned in the add)

Yes, I am still searching for that 2 seater 280ZX.

Tempted to call the seller but I am after a road car more than a rally car.

Came across this one(it's the second listing on the page)

Sounds interesting, set up as a rally car presently, but with full NSW reg.

Running a few mods, Haltech computer, R200 LSD etc

Price: $16K

Location: Penrith, NSW

edit: just called the seller and left a message!

'77 260Z 2 Seater gone fast? (W.A.)

Gumtree had a 1977 Gold manual Coupe advertised Thu/Fri this week for $14.5K and appears to have been snapped up, hopefully to a good home. I think it had a RB30(?) transplant, registered but not running at present due to some electrical gremmlins. Owner still had the original motor. Gold colour with original gold/bronze laquered mags. Ad did not last long so I cannot remember details for certain, but looked like a potentially good project car...

Yeah, it sold for $16k 2 hours after I had a look at it.

It had an RB30 in it and was in very good condition. Barely any rust. Lots of original service books and reciepts too. Disappointed I missed out on it...

Is this what you are referring to?

Check out this Datsun 260Z.

Did every single car from '77 come in that color? Of the dozen odd that I've seen, I don't think any of them have not been that weird champagne.

We only got 95 odd of them here.

Yep,

That's the one. At least you got a chance to have a look at it as there are not too many of the '77 Coupes (manuals) around these days. The cream interior was not that common either. I seem to remember reading on this forum a few years ago that there were only 98 of the 1977 2 seaters imported into Australia?  I was contemplating it for a spares or backup project for mine. Glad he got more than he was asking for it.

I am pretty sure the normal colours came in as well on the '77 models? Mine is 110 Red with Cream interior and I have seen the light 'Metallic Blue' as well as a 'Forrest/BR Green' back in the '80's on the Coupe's..

I visited and looked at this car around 4 or 5 years ago, this is the same add and price I saw at the time.

At that time I also asked about the yellow car but was told he had just sold it to someone in WA....and the add still exists for both of them in Unique Cars 5 years on?!?

You sure barely any rust? I saw the ad and there was a few places where there was rust on the exterior body and judging by the mud covered tyres was definitely kept outside.

I know who owned this car! this is the car that made me fall in love with zeds.. I wonder if the guy who owned it then was still the same owner..

I was the first to call this guy when the add came up :) I was really looking forward to a JDM project car. But this one wasn't to be...

Real nice guy! I had asked him a few questions about the original motor documentation etc. I could have sealed the deal then for 14.5k his asking price but waited until the next day to hear back.

still first in line! I spoke to him the next day and he had told me that he had some guys offering more! And i chose to pull out. He had a you family so the extra money will certainly will help him out.

Here is the advert and images;

Meet Deirdre. A beautiful example of 1977 Japanese style and engineering.

71,000 km on the clock only. This Datsun 260Z Manual has had a humble RB30 engine conversion done by official Nissan mechanic over in Bunbury, W.A. i have owned the car for 6 years now and she has been a beaut. It is priced to sell quickly at $14,500. The car does run and is need of a little bit of love to take it to a whole other level. Electrics seem to be the main thing which need a bit of resources spent.

This unique Datsun 260Z Coupe won't last long at this price $14,500. This car has a powerful 3 litre engine. With the original 2.6L carburettor engine in storage this is also available for the buyer who would be keen on restoring to it's original state.

An unmolested classic car for the right person who has the passion to take care of. Minor rust beginning to set in - the car has been garaged up until very recently when we have moved into our new place.

Reason for selling is i now have two children and simply do not have the time to give the car the love she deserves.

SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY - DO NOT WASTE MY TIME PLEASE.

Yes that would be great if you can. I was planning to use Umbrella towing that I've seen a few other members using who quoted $950 to deliver from Margate , QLD to  Melbourne.
