I bought this complete motor around 2015 with the goal of rebuilding it but have since rebuilt my original 240Z engine so no longer need this one. I could turn it over by hand when I purchased it but haven't tried again since. When I put it away into internal dry storage I did pour some oil into the cylinders. It's out of a 260Z and is complete with an E88 head, twin (4 Screw) Hitachi Carburetors, distributor and alternator....... no fuel pump. Location is Penrith NSW, price is $900 and requires collection with an engine hoist or some real muscle to lift it.

I'm wanting to buy an engine stand suitable for a 260z engine. After some investigation (couldn't find anything specific on the forum) it seems alot of the product descriptions say suitable for 4cyl, V6, V8 engines. My question is are they suitable for a straight 6? What have you successfully used, keeping in mind I need it to be mobile (without busting my boiler!) to move around the garage as required. Tks!

Hi Peter, I simply ordered them, I didn't provide strut part # or anything. I have purchased a number of things from them over the years and have always found them to be very prompt with their communication. Once recieved 8 they fitted without a problem. Cheers Tony

I'm hoping someone can help me out with advice on a new sports seat (type/model etc) for my 1973 240Z. I'm planning the odd track day and want something that provides better support than my standard driver seat, supports the use of a clip in harness (I have a half cage) and can bolt straight in/onto the standard mounts. Fixed (with the ability to fix at my desired point) or on runners. Like the wheels and tyres, I will be removing the seat after the event until its next needed so I'm looking for something that simply bolts straight in. I'm not looking for a huge winged wonder, just a nice solid supportive sports seat (with harness holes) that doesn't require me to re centre myself in to the seat between each corner. Many thanks for your feedback!

No problems! KDRL-09 (RL= Rear lowered) KDFL-08 (FL= Front lowered) As they had to be manufactured delivery was 6wks! Cheers

Money well and truly spent! I installed the Koni's and lowered King Springs, very happy with the look and handling improvement!

Will they fit - Rota RB 15x8 +4 & 15x7 +10 or 16x8 +4
TDoherty replied to TDoherty's topic in Wheels and Tyres
Thanks for the response Smugley.... love the name! I really want to choose the 15x8 & 15x7 combination but of course want to know they will fit before buying them. I know the +4 offset on the rear is fine but the Rota man told me the +10 on the front would not fit so I of course need to be 100% sure. Are you using Rota RB 15x7 +10 on the front of your car? Call me anal but its a big gist if I buy them and they don't fit! Tks a million! -
Need some advice please for my 240Z. Can't decide on the above 16" wheels all round with 225/50 tyres or the above 15"combination with 225/50 on the rear and 205/50 on the front. Concerns/questions are; 1. I'm told the 16" & 15" +4 will fit with my standard suspension and rolled guards but there's uncertainty about the 15" +10 fitting. Does anyone have any experience? 2. My preference is the 15" wheel and tyre combination mentioned above which is all possible with the Yokahama Advan Neova. My concern about the tyre size required for the 16x8 is that the front would have to be the same as the rear ie. 225/50 as the 205/50 is too small for this rim....and there is no 215 size. What are your thoughts on this size front tyre? Tks!

Thanks for your feedback Mike! I'm still looking but now at RB-R 16X8 +4, I'll come back to you if they don't work out. Cheers Tony

I'm envious..... you don't want them?!

I've been told Performance has gone bust and some guts are negotiating with the Chinese company that owns the molds but this is likely to take months. So, I'm looking for four 15x7 superlites for my 240Z. Cheers Tony

Many thanks for your reply George! Yes, I had already received a reply and have now placed my order! I'm thinking the same or maybethe lower spring, need to do some further investigations. Cheers
-
Hi George, Apologies, this may come thru twice? I've just sent a mail to The Z Store asking them to confirm these are still available as only today I was told Koni no longer an insert for the rear struts on a 240Z. Was wondering what springs you matched these with? Many thanks

Hi All, Can anyone tell me where I can get a total replacement for my (1973 240Z) indicator? If the only option is from one if the usual US sights, can a LHD unit be adapted for use? I've pulled it out and cleaned/reconditioned many times with diminishing results so think it's simply to over the hill! Thanks!

Hi! Just went thru this investigation, you have a couple of options and things to consider e.g. CAMS approval?, installed or kit which you install, location of supplier, price, finish (powder coated or not) etc Options I found are; Brown Davis (Vic) Stewart Wilkins Motorsport (Mulgrave NSW) Premier Exhaust & Automotive (Newcastle NSW) Cheers Tony

Hi Gav, When I bought my 73 240Z it had a large metal cover (with the worm drive spindle) that covers the entire spare wheel. Any idea what it is off given your description and pics of the above standard securing solution. Many thanks Tony

I realise this is a bit left field but thought I would post this item here before I post it on Gumtree. It came with my recent acquisition but can't imagine I will be towing anything so have removed it and offer it to a good home for $50! Collection only - Blue Mountains, PM me if interested. Cheers Tony

S30Z Combination Switch / Wiper And Indicator Rebuild
TDoherty replied to gav240z's topic in Electrical systems
G'day Gav, I know there is a ball bearing in the indicator stalk assembly but haven't (yet) disassembled the lights/Wiper stalk. Unfortunately all my efforts to refresh the indicator switch were unsuccessful, it's still a cow and only works with pressure and lots of attempts! I'll follow this string with interest, good luck! Indicator Switch Contact Points - Repair?
TDoherty replied to PeterAllen's topic in Electrical systems
Hi! I have the same problem and used this link as the basis for pulling mine down and cleaning/refurbishing it however it really didn't result in a marked improvement of any sort! I'm about to pull it out/down once more to see what else I might be able to do so will follow this string to see if anyone else can offer any pearls of wisdom. Cheers Tony https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/turn-signal-repair/ -
Given its summer and my lack of air-con I'm with Craig! Taralga & Tarana are both great drives and bound to be a few degrees cooler if it's a stinker. Cheers Tony

Dead easy...pardon the pun! Without it mine would have been almost unbearable on a long trip.
