It's all forward now mate. As you said now you know the car inside and out, no more surprises. We will all be following the progress that you and Paul will make over the next few months.

OH GEORGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is pretty bad buddy. It brings back memories and fear. My advise would be to get some primer or similar on that raw steel, as it'll take time to get those holes fixed. My Hornet was like that, but fortunately not as bad.

Good luck, happy to help if I can.

Cheers

By the way mate, is that previous accident repair work I see there?

Just above where the washer bottle sits?

Gav, there is evidence of previous repair - Paul is all over it. The car will go on a jig to get straightened out. It's isolated to the front right but best to check it out and get it straightened properly.

Got some parts plated. Overall happy with the results although some need to go back for a second attempt.

I've just had my latches done but as I'm not doing an OEM resto I went for the 'silver/aluminium' finish rather than the 'gold'. Just to show a comparison. Either way the outcomes are great.

Amazing that you can leave them fully assembled during the process with the springs, plastic clips and rubber stopper all attached.

My money is on George having the last laugh...

Oh I don't doubt it, I'm just having a bit of fun at George's expense ;). We now know what a car that's been sitting outdoors looks like once it's back from the blaster. So seeing an S30z like that I think back to the photos in this thread.

Even with the bracing,  how is this thing staying together?

You are a braver and possibly more cash flushed than I'll ever be haha. watching this build will be like watching the creation of a patchwork quilt.

Hey Pete,

Nothing of real note to report. Paul is chipping away at it and I'm working on some other projects around the house so haven't done anything with the car.  :-[

Hi George,

Understand about projects around the house, they seem to chew up huge amounts of time and like cars, are never finished.

Thanks for the update George.

The pictures have me somewhat in shock and like Richard, lost for words  :o

Guys,

Shocked? these are old cars exposed to the many elements in our environment...

Quality resto means quality parts...no 19 deserves this treatment.

well done to the owner & craft-man involved ;)
