  1. I can't believe this. 240Z's proddy racing and #43. If we ever catch-up with KatoKid its going to be old racing stories, and which is the best Zed colour Orange or Gold .
  2. Excellent Paul. You came across so well. It really showed your passion for the cars we love. I thought it was great the way you tied in what you do and #19.
  3. I have been keeping very quiet about your build. As you mate, I'm a bit biased about all the skill you have and the hard work you have put in, not only on your early Zed but all the help you have given me. But where is the latest progress report?. What are we going to drive to see Kato kid,s BMW powered beast.
  4. Looking good Kato. Of course I'm a fan of the colour. You are building one special Zed mate.
  5. That Ford ute in my shed will be gone in a couple of weeks, so you know where I am mate. You have to finish before George
  6. hey mate just catching up on your progress, looking real good, all the lines look fantasitc. It's going to be a head turner, even before they get to see whats under the hood.
  7. I think the all black works with the car colour. I went back and forward between the before and after photos and I like it. It must of been hard to decide to paint those wheels.

    2014 All Japan Day

I'm in Ledge, after talking to you when you dropped by the other day I took your advice, I finished up early and took the old Datto for a spin through the hills. Had a great time with my oldest son who talked about riding in the car before it was rebuilt. We both had a smile from ear to ear.t
  9. I would love to meet up with you guys before we go in, count me in.( I will have Jeff with me) I will pm my details.
  10. It's all forward now mate. As you said now you know the car inside and out, no more surprises. We will all be following the progress that you and Paul will make over the next few months.
  11. Great work mate. It's looking very good . When things cool down a bit Jeff and will have to drive the old girl up to see you and the zed. Keep the updates coming.
  12. Looks good Jason, you have been very busy. It looks like Jeff and I need to take a drive up north so you can check out your old motor, and we can have a look at your work first hand. Keep up the good work mate. 2015 is looking good for you. Vaughn
  13. A big thanks to you all for kind remarks. A a bigger thanks to Jeff and Derek for helping me get my car on the road. It would not of happened without their help. Derek did an amazing job with the body and paint and in my dads words made a silk purse from a pigs ear. Jeff was a big help with the electrics and coming around to help when I just couldn't find a solution to what ever problem I had that night or day. When I started this 4 years ago I knew it would be hard, but it was heaps harder than I thought. I did manage to stay within budget give or take a few grand. The support form all the club members has been outstanding and really helped to keep my motivation up. I still have a few bugs to sort out, but now it's time to enjoy the car for now, and save some money to sort some things out over winter. I also now want to help Jeff with his 240 and my wife has 4 years worth of jobs around the house saved up. Thanks again to all I will try and take some "good" pictures with something other than my phone in some good light to show the car in detail a bit better. I know the car will never be finished but now I can enjoy it.
  14. Fantastic mate it looks like a beast. Make sure you let us all know when you give if a run. When is the road trip to pick if up.
  15. Thanks Ian, I may take you up on your offer I'm running a Haltech Sprint 500. Im just going to drive the car for the next couple of days then after Christmas look into a fix for the tacho.
  16. Thanks Rudolf. Sorry for taking so long to back to you I have been busy although i know that is no excuse. I have got things sorted under the bonnet now with all the wiring tidy. I have put the badges on and with help from Jeff made the bonnet close without hitting anything, we can't get it to fit how we would like but it will have to do for now. I just need a wheel alignment, gas the aircon and get the Tacho working. Jeff has found a solution to get a signal from the computer to work with the original Tacho if it works we will post it up as it might help others.
  17. Gav I have a antenna switch if you are interested.
  18. Well mate I admire you for giving it the love that it needs to be back on the the road. It will be a big thrill and a long chase. I will enjoy following your build. ( I can't believe you are already talking about what you are going to go after this one). Good luck mate.
  19. Jeff called it last week he said to me that George will be onto me. I think I need to YouTube on how to YouTube . i have a full set of new badges to go on the car. I won't fit them until all is done with the car. I do have the old owners details so I should send a picture with the yucky brown.???? Thanks to all for the positive comments and encouragement. My son just got his KTM 50sx so I have been a bit on the weekends helping him out. I just need to get some time to finish things off.
  20. It has been some time since I have updated my build thread. I have been busy with not much progress. I have now got the exhaust fitted and I have driven the car (not very far just up my 200m driveway ). It has taken me a while to sort out my small problem with the brakes. I finally worked out(with Jeff's help) the end of the brake push rod was the short "bullet" type so I swapped it out for the longer "witches hat" type now I have a good brake pedal. With all the big jobs out of the way now it is just a matter of finding time to sort out the details.
  21. I knew this was coming. I have got vid of the start up I just need to workout how to put it on Youtube. I will try and work something out. I do have pictures of the seats, doest that count?
  22. Well it's a runner after sorting out a relay which wasn't allowing power to the HP fuel pump. First I cranked her over with the fuse out for the fuel pumps until I could see oil up top. Then after sorting out the relay she fired up. It was fairly loud coming straight out of the headers. I was very happy to hear it fire up and thanks to Jeff for all the wiring for the Haltech. I have also been busy getting the seats fitted. I just need to get it on the trailer so it can go and have the exhaust fitted so I can give it a run without the neighbours getting annoyed. But it was a very happy night hearing it run for the first time.
  23. No problem Roberto, sorry it has been so long getting back to you I have been busy in the shed. Good news it runs mate so I should post on my build thread. send me a pm Linton and we should be able to work something out. Vaughn
  24. I have some 2+2 tail lights and surrounds if you want them they are yours. Vaughn
  25. Noooooooooooooo. Seriously mate it's your car and I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision to think about selling it. After being on the resto ride following your fantastic build thread we all have some dirt if emotional connection to your car. Take heart in the fact that we have enjoyed not only your build of a car we all think is fantastic, it was also the way you told the story. Good luck Adam Long live The Brown Hornet
