Actually I'm not sure if it is a 432-R din pocket, it might be a PS30 din pocket only? Usually the 432-Rs had a blanking plate like they did for the clock. So I may have made the conclusion accidentally. I wonder if you could order a Fairlady Z without a radio back in the day?

Gav, It's nothing to do with the 432 or 432-R.

432 was technically 'Deluxe' spec, so they all had radios/8-track radios as standard spec.

'PZR' 432-R was technically 'Standard' spec so had no radio as stock equipment, same as Fairlady Z-S ('S30-S'). The Z-S had blanking plates over clock aperture, centre dash vent and radio aperture, but on the 432-R the clock aperture and eyeball vent holes were not even cut in the dash covering vinyl. The Z-S & PZR radio aperture blanking plate was flat not pocketed.

Please remember that pretty much every 432-R sold to the general public was unique. The spec on small details like this was rather loose, to say the least. Some of them were made with heater/defrosters, some not. Some of them were made with gloveboxes and lids, some not. Some made with glovebox lids but no 'box' inside. The flat panel on Takeuchi san's 432-R radio aperture may or may not be original (there are a few things on his car which are like that...) and only one or two 432-Rs had choke and hand throttle controls relocated from the (missing) console to the dash area. It was all personal preference, and often modified by the supplying dealer.

I've got one of the 68835-E4100 DIN bins (I'm rich...! Or maybe not... ) and you won't find it in any of the early Japanese market parts lists despite that 'E41' suffix indicating 1970 S30-specific parts. Best I can figure is that it was a rare option for music haters with short arms and deep pockets...  :)

You couldn't give them away here.... I recall many 260z 2+2's being broken and these were never an item people wanted...How things change.

Hmmmm - I just checked eBay again and the L28 + gearbox listing had been cancelled, with the explanation;

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."

It was like that about 5 minutes after you posted.

I must have missed this.

At current exchange rate that's $1000 AUD for a Twin Knob Rally Clock in need of restoration. Glad I bought both of mine before AUD / USD exchange rate turned to crap...

Individual Throttle Body set up;

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/6-throttle-body-setup-itb-for-L24-L26-L28-240z-260z-280zx-/261966948586?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&fits=Model%3A240+Z&hash=item3cfe7268ea

eBay item number 261966948586

"Custom made 6 throttle body setup with megasquirt ems pro to suit Nissan/Datsun L24 L26 L28 240z 260z 280zx etc. I made this setup awhile ago now and it consists of 6x 04' GSXR throttle bodies, (42mm from memory) 300cc injectors, custom manifold with tapered tubes, custom plenum chamber (has a small dent that can be tapped out) with internal trumpets/velocity stacks, sard FPR with gauge, vacuum tank for brakes (all 6 runners), 3" front pipe for airfilter (airfilter not incl), also comes with an EMS PRO megasquirt fully programmable ECU (loom, sensors etc) that has a very rough tune but needs more time spent to get right, the ecu is setup for fuel only but can easily be setup for ignition control by flicking a few switches on side of unit (look up EMS PRO on Google for more info). vehicle ran ok on setup and had very good throttle response and sounded unbelievable but needs more tuning to get right. I am only selling due to wanting to put an RB25 into my 260z otherwise I would get it dyno tuned with this setup. Has all been removed from vehicle and stock carbs put in place for the meantime. CASH ONLY unless you want to pay PAYPAL fees, pickup and viewing prior to auction end available on request."

Starting bid $1,000 - no reserve

Auction ends - Friday 24 Jul, 2015 15:35:12 AEST

Hi Gav, I got outbid on the sports option catalogue. Thought that it might be nice to have but it got too expensive for me.

I have that valve cover which I will use on my new engine when I find the time to finish it.

David :)

David, I'm the bastard that outbid you. I will scan it to PDF and share with the community. That is 1 of the reasons I bought it.

I didn't want it to disappear. Not sure it has any value to S30z racers. But it does show a lot of cool period parts.
