they are not kind to 90% of cars when talking about E85. Usually a whole fuel system requires converting when wanting to run e85, you need larger injectors capable to run usually 25-35% more fuel delivery, you need to replace all the fuel line as the ethanol perishes regular fuel hose. That and its i believe hygroscopic, so leave it over time in the tank and it will absorb water from the environment. So you need to be re filling a full tank weekly or so. Ive considered converting the S15 to run a flex sensor with a Haltec, so i can run both fuels on the fly, but i have a million other things to pay for. Rudolf.

Cars For Sale (3rd Party Sites) Ebay, Carsales etc..

If its the blue one that's advertised for 14.5k, Its mine, i bought it 2 years ago. Also, That yellow 260z on there he sold way before i even bought my car. He keeps the old ads up because he has heaps of zeds for sale anyway. The gold one as Zack told me, "would suit a rally car that you don't care if you write if off" as the body wasn't perfect. I did see about a month back, the gold car was listed on Ebay, however funny no one ended up posting it here. By the photo's on the Ebay ad, It was at his mates workshop, the same workshop mine went to get get a blue slip. so he must have been getting ready to sell the gold one. It was listed at 6k or so, cant remember the exact price, engine bay was original red color, looked quite rusty under there, i know the paint was cracking in a few spots too. Ad got removed so not sure if it sold or not. Rudolf. -
I also watched Mad max Fury road Last night...... And to be honest, i have mixed feelings about it. I felt the story was weak, i know i shouldn't but i was giving this a direct comparison to road warrior. The into dialogue was extremely weak compared to the masterpiece that was the intro to road warrior. In road warrior, it introduced us to max, his past, what happened to the world and who the guys are that are chasing him. Right away it sets you up and you understand exactly whats happening as it drops you into the wasteland. Fury road just drops you into the action without any explanation, context or background, its extremely confusing especially at the beginning. You kind of have to piece it together and guess yourself whats going on. I didn't really like the plot, at times i felt it lost a little direction, BUT: In saying that, mad max isn't really supposed to have a plot, or be a Shakespearean play, its about action. Although you cant beat the real life action and real stunts of the originals, it was still great to watch. The special effects in general were awesome, the only area the CGI made me cringe was the flames shooting out of the exhausts, and i only noticed that on the Nux car (32 ford 5 window deuce). It made me think, with all the engineering being done on the car, they could have rigged up some real flamers with a spark plug and fuel line in the exhaust which would have been much better. Apparently they were given open book, be as crazy as you want, and it was great, I LOVED the Plymouth Rock, and the cars/ tribe of bandits with all the spiked cars at the beginning, gave a great sense of the different warring tribes / cultures if you will. I LOVED the Duffwagon, It was pure insanity, i was laughing saying the dude on guitar has a tough gig, as he never seems to stop shredding on that guitar! In general though i enjoyed it, and there was, maybe, could have been a 240z in there in the background, which was just the cherry on top. Rudi.

Im not going crazy i was thinking the same thing, need more photos for confirmation! Rudi.

no i don't Gav, i wanted to get one, but cant really justify the $300-500 needed for it when most likely, after i finish the body work i wont really use it. What i have, which is a PITA and takes a long time, is i have various thicknesses of scrap flat bar, they are all 30-40mm wide, from 2 to 10mm thick and about 400mm long. Ill clamp my sheet in my vice between 2 pieces of the flat bar, usually the thickest ones. and use a 3rd piece to help fold the corner over with G clamps, or i just hammer it flat against my thickest 10mm piece of flat bar while its still clamped in the vice. I do have a huge sheet metal brake at work, but don't really use it as i don't really have the time to. I did however use that for the more complex folds on my driver side inner sil panel when i made that. Rudi. -

UPDATE 12.5.15 --EXTENSION DONE, WEDDING DONE.... ROLL ON DATSUN! wow i cant believe its been 3 months since my last update! the car had to be put on the back burner for awhile, as my now wife and i had to organize everything for our wedding! Firstly big thank you to both Sydney Mike and Ferris for helping out on the day with cars! so this happened! But now all the major stuff had been done, it was time to get back into the garage, and boy was there some dust i had to blow out of the shed. First area to tackle was the drivers side rear quater, it had a previous repair done, the wheel arch was abit crap so id need to redo that bottom edge. Thanks to Locky for making me up the panel, he made it around 2 months ago, but it had been sitting up opened on my work bench since then because i was flat out doing wedding stuff, its actually still sitting there unopened! ill get to it soon enough. The inner skin however was quite abit worse though: due to not being able to see it once done, i decided to tackle this myself, as it would not matter how bad it looked. i started by making a rough area/ shape: as you can see by the ball point hammer marks, i tried to beat the hell out of the panel to stretch it into the divot for the fuel filler neck, but it wasn't happening, so i ended up making some relief cuts, then hammering it into shape: then making some filler pieces, i welded them in: and once cleaned up this is how it looked: and after a trial fit, it was pretty darn good!: pretty happy with the fitment, so i slapped on some KBS rust seal: I also cut out the old rusted inner skin, but i can see there is quite abit of surface rust that goes even further back, because that outer patch wraps all the way around the corner, and no one rust proofed it after they welded it in, it has started rusting already, so i might have to cut out more of the inner skin where it is spot welded up to the rear panel, buff it all down and hit it with some KBS rust seal. Then ill re make the corner part and re fit it. After that ill trim locky's outer quarter and cut and weld that in place. I also want to fill the holes in the rear bar that have the big rubber patch/grommet in them. Im sure there is a good reason they are there, im sure i needed that reason when i stripped the rear end, but i cant for the life of me remember what the point of them is, either way, they are going, and im thinking of welding up the seam where the quarter meets that rear panel too, above the holes. well its had a fresh respray and they have just painted all the chrome red. But i think the number 1 issue is when they haven't even attempted to bog the rust, like don't even worry about that, just paint over the rust holes. when you see photos like this, and its only in the door, your going to have a bad time........ it reminds me of a car i went to see when i bought my zed around 2 years ago, first photo was.... meh......... start looking around..... and there was holes in the A pillar, like 10c piece holes near the bottom, this was from the inside, and the chassis rails were swiss cheese! now if i recall, a kid from Queensland bought the car, drove it home. He started a build thread on here, i remember he started to repair it, doing a bit of rust repair on the wheel arch, bits here and there, then started to uncover the horrors, as in the whole rear quarter was just bog and chicken wire, after that post he didn't post again, that was 2 years ago! i think that red one will be in exactly the same condition, worn rubbers, holes in the top of the door, in visible areas, places you would at least try and fix, so if they don't care about the holes in the door, whats the rest of it going to look like? and its LHD, that automatically makes everything a PITA, going through maccas drive through? better have one of those claws to reach the register with your money, how about going to a parking lot, how will you grab your ticket? (i know you would never leave it at a shopping mall but still you get the idea) Rudolf. -
welcome! looks like you have some work on your hands! keep the updates coming, it helps to motivate the rest of us to keep battling with our basket cases! Rudolf.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, the day was spectacular, i was blubering like a little girly man when my wife was walking down the isle, in turn me crying made everyone else cry! A MAHOOSIVE thanks to both Mike and David, you guys were troopers! i needed them there at 8am and they were there, and stuck through it until 4:30pm, honestly you guys helped to make the day perfect! The weather was actually ok, It rained really heavy on the drive up from my place, it stopped once we reached the hotel at 8am, and stayed dry with the odd sprinkle here and there until we all reached the church. Then during the ceremony and Mass it poured, then stopped enough for us to have some good bridal party photo shoots, and only started hammering down again once we were at the reception. Luck was on our side!! FUNNY story.... we were doing a little video skit, where mikes car would be "broken down" on the side of the road, and id rock up with my 'boys' and save the day, so we had the coil unplugged, and had it cranking and cranking and no start, when i "fixed" the car, boy was she laboring to crank over, flat battery, it literally just started, awesome! then the video guy was like "ok switch it off one more time and re start so we can get it from another angle!" before i could say no, the car was off... and guess what, we really did have a break down as the battery was flat! we had a laugh about it but got some cool shots of the groomsman having to push start mikes car to get it running again! Awesome day! Only down side was nearly writing off my car on the way back to the hotel, going through the national park, we come around a blind corner at about 50km/h to see this: ill get photos up as soon as i get them, might be a few weeks, and the video whenever thats done, but that might be months. Rudolf.

And both of you are right, and I have spent about 9k on my bus since Ive bought it, and its still getting rust repairs! I love my car too, if i ever sold it id be asking the same price, mid 20's. I foresee my car owing me 50k by the time im done, and id never see a return on that being a bus, if it was a 2 seater on the other hand, maybe it would be possible. Before i pulled my car off the road i took it to a end of month meet at Harry's cafe De wheels, which is famous in Sydney, people have even driven up from Canberra for it. When i rocked up i commanded EVERYONE'S attention. Torana's, monaro's GT falcons were everywhere..... i was the only S30z there, i could hear everyone saying "wow haven't seen one of those in years" and people arguing if it was a 260 or a 280zx or whatever. It gets the looks no doubt about it. Also, 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. Hell, even i didn't notice the difference between the two at first. i was looking at 2+2's thinking that there is something odd about them, but i couldn't put my finger on what it was, i put it down to not having "stance" with flares and a duck tail spoiler. I wondered why the hell the 2 seaters were double the price of a 2+2, and didn't really notice the body differences until i bought my car. Ill be honest, when it dawned on me, i was quite deflated for a while, i really had yearned for a 2 seater all these years looking at photo's. I did some research, and saw some buses that inspired me, and i thought, "yeah i can make her look real pretty." I got over it, and now have the goal to try and build one of the best 2+2's in the country, if i fail, because Ive set my bar so high, i should at least end up with a dam fine street car. I don't ever plan on selling it either, due to the blood swear and tears ive put into it. But i even recal reading the members rides on the front page, cant remember who owned it, it was the blue bus on white nismo rims, i think it ended up getting written off. anyway, i remember reading in the profile that even he didn't spot the differences before he bought the car. This bloke is a new member, 4 posts, wanting his dream car, i just want to clarify the differences between the two cars that i, and some others, didn't notice when buying our first zeds. If he wants a bus then great! But if he really wants a 2 seater, i just don't want him to be disappointed after his purchase like i was for awhile. Rudolf.

hang on 1 minute.... if i had 22k to spend on a Z, i would not be getting a 2+2... and i own one! Just so we are 1000% clear, there is a big difference in body shapes between a 2+2 and a 2 seater zed, that even i didn't notice when i started looking at them, hell i had 2 sitting right next to each other and i didn't notice. The difference: there is a big difference in what they command value wise, hence why everyone is saying it better be perfect for 22k, because that is double what you usually see for a 2+2. A 2 seater on the other hand that is about right. Rudolf.

true, id even consider 25k a good price for a fully restored 2+2, id never try and push 35k for one, i know it wouldn't sell, just doesn't have the desirability of 2 seaters. What i find funny, and i think about it alot, is the fact i was more than happy to pay 25k for my S15 when i bought it, yet if i see 25k for a S30z i go ooohhhh..... pricy! Even though it might have been a complete nut and bolt restoration, as new condition, id have a harder time forking over the money for the zed than the silvia. I know in my head it is well worth it, because it would have cost at least double that to restore it. I just think subconsciously we have all been groomed by society to think old = less value, Old = worthless, our society has the mentality to throw everything away, everything is just disposable, once it breaks, buy a new one. So when we see a car made in 1971 selling for more than a new car, or near new car, we all say "thats not right!" I think we have all been conditioned in this way of thinking, so we instantly say, "dam expensive" but then people like ourselves snap out of it, and go, wait a minute.... this is worth it.... i dunno, im just rambling now Rudolf. -
i cant remember if this was first posted on here or not, don't think it was but anyway: "THE BEAST OF TURIN" Fittingly nicknamed ‘The Beast Of Turin', the S76 was built in 1910 with the express intention of beating the land speed record, held at the time by Blitzen-Benz. As well as the sort of engine displacement normally reserved for supertankers, it boasted - by the standards of the day - some pretty cutting-edge hardware: four valves per cylinder, multi-spark and overhead cam technology helping it produce something in the region of 300bhp. 300bhp! In 1910! Only two S76s were ever built. Pittaway discovered the remains of one chassis in Australia, and eventually united it with the surviving S76 engine from the other car. They are making a movie length documentary about the rebuild, here was a sneak peek trailer that was posted somewhere a few months back: Now they have it running and did a shake down run at goodwood, getting ready to run it at goodwood at the festival in a few months: amazing! simply amazing... i love stuff like this! Rudolf.

so how i interpret that is: Spray the crap out of it with brake cleaner then blast it with the air gun! (seems legit, brake cleaner has a hundred uses) Rudolf. -
Looks like you got yourself a nice little car there! hopefully at a decent price too. There is no way to assess the rust until you hit it with a flap disk and hopefully you wont loose your grinder! Mine had 5-8mm of bog in some parts of the dog leg, so you press on it, and its solid as a rock, think that its 5mm thick of solid filler, its not going to flex at all. Wont lie, im abit Jelly right now! Looking forward to your build! Rudolf.

Holy crap! My Dad knows that old guy. My old boy used to be a senior overseer for water board, he was based in Hornsby, said many many years ago he had him do a repair to my dads merc, and back then he was happy. My first ever car was a S13 silvia, and it had rust in the sunroof, as in someone did a quick bog and flog when i bought it, looked perfect when i got it, 3 months later...... it had that much bog in the roof, the sunroof would get jammed on its runners when trying to open it. guy said "oh its just a fuse blown" and he disconnected the sunroof switch, found out one day when trying to repair it. Come time to sell it, we decided to do a quick repair, so my dad took me to spanno (this is going back about 12 years) got the rust "fixed" for $300 i think it was, he even said to us, "mate, she will be good for 3 months, so if your going to sell it, make it quick", in a month and a half the smallest of bubbles had re appeared on the sun roof, and i sold the car. About 1 year later i bumped into the kid that bought it off me at the shops, saw the car, i was afraid id get a punch in the nose, man o man was the roof bad! But it was my first car, i didn't see the tell tale signs it was dodgey, just wanted a car! never bought a car with a sunroof since, including my bus! Rudolf.

excellent news mate, love the brown zed! we will have quite the small convoy going! Rudolf.

Saturday 2nd of May bro! would be good to have an extra zed there! so far we have Mike and thats it! Too bad there is literally no one with a working 2+2 at the moment, struggling to find a car for my mrs and her father to arrive in, if it was just her id say your car would be perfect (she loves white!) I literally know about 5 people with street machine cover worthy cars... one has a VL, doesn't want to drive it that far, another one folded the bonnet over his roof last month in his 800hp ford Capri, everything's either getting built or broken! might settle for a XY GT i found through a friend of a friend of a friend...... meh! as long as i have a few zeds that's good with me! Rudolf.

why do you keep defending this guy.... He IS NOT a good guy... he is a scumbag. You drive a hour and a half to go see this car, on multiple occasions, and he agrees on a price and shakes your hand on it, and now wastes your time and says he wants more? He doesn't respect you. He should have done more research before listing the car, and priced it better. Not agree on a sale price then decide he wants to try and screw more money out of you. I know its hard, you don't want to tell him where to go, as its a pretty decent price for what you want, perhaps you wont be able to find another deal like that for a good while, but this isnt right. Rudolf.
