  1. No, but I have a 260Z clock and a 260Z fuel/volt gauge which I have experimented with using different LEDs. I will drag them out and try to take some photos.
  2. The instrument illumination globes are on the same circuit and have the dimmer control. The blinker, high beam, brake and charge (260Z) indicators are connected to their relevant circuits and not to the dimmer.
  3. There are several different types of BA9 LED globes available - what kind did you use?
  4. Hi Jeff, The header in the link you posted is their 15-6013CH 'MOTORSPORT TBC Coated 6-1 Header' (for round port heads - US$319.95). I just received a shipping quote from the Z store for the 15-6001CH - 'MSA 3-2 TBC Coated Header' (for square port heads - US$299.95) of US$165.54 (via USPS International). So the total cost for the 15-6001CH would be about AU$610 and the 15-6013CH would be about AU$635.

    Flywheel For A 240Z

    I spoke to 240ZR today and he does not have a flywheel - so I am still hoping to find one. I would also consider a lightened flywheel now.
  6. Welcome back Dan. You were mentioned here quite recently; http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/16793-wtb-cassette-deck/?do=findComment&comment=199126 I reckon your back yard looks like this -
  7. Be aware that if you fit LED dash lighting - that the dimmer control will not work. I hope to convert to LEDs one day too, and I found this solution; http://www.protizmo.com/Product-Info/AILD-1/ It dims the LEDs using pulse width modulation. If you fit PWM - all the bulbs to be dimmed need to be LED, because incandescent bulbs don't like being 'pulsed'. To choose the correct model you need to know the maximum resistance of the rheostat. I would like to know what your rheostat measures if you get a chance while the dash is out.
  8. Thanks for the quick replies! Jeff is correct about the part number, but I tried my local Nissan dealer and it is NLA. I then tried Gavin's suggestion and tried www.amayama.com. The site showed none available in Japan, but 2 available in the United Arab Emirates. The price was AU$2.10 each plus AU$31.90 delivery = Total of AU$34. I tried a Google search for the part number and found this site - partsouq.com This also showed 2 available in the UAE. Their price was AU$2.16 each plus AU$18.85 delivery = Total of AU$21.01. (Fedex 3-7 days, but Santa might get in the way of their schedule). Because the part was so cheap and the shipping for 2 was the same as for one - I ordered two. (final Paypal amount was AU$24.10) When I checked back on the amayama.com website - they were out of stock - so I assume these were the same items. Problem solved - thanks all!
  9. I can't find one of these listed by the usual Z parts suppliers, so I am hoping someone on here has one that I could buy.
  10. And the reserve has not been reached yet!
  11. They have listed it as a - 1986 Nissan Fairlady Z Z31 Manual Confidence building?
  12. Great read Gordo - thanks for putting in the effort. I notice that you have installed inertia reel seat belts. Can you tell us what kind you used, and maybe show us a photo or two detailing where and how you fitted the reels?
  13. Starting bid $500 !!??
  14. From the ad; "For Sale, a stunning 1974 Datsun 240Z, one of the last to be made" "Engine L24-183878" It might have been first registered in January 1974, but I would call it a 1973 240Z. 9/73 complied 240Z's have engine numbers of L24-189xxx
  15. This car did not sell - there were only two bids (highest was $20,200) It has been relisted with an even shorter description of - "240z datsun runs well 3rd owner since new still has rego" There has already been one bid of $20,000 (which was again the Starting bid) and the Buy It Now price is also the same ($33,000) The new eBay auction ends this Sunday - (10 Dec, 2017 22:03:13 AEDST) The seller has, however, added the following new photos;

    Wtb Cassette Deck

    I assume that you want an original 280ZX cassette deck. This guy in Brisbane appears to have at least five 280Zx's in his back yard - you could try him; https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kedron/auto-body-parts/series-1-datsun-280zx/1166480303 The Z Car Source in the US sells untested units for US$39.99 too; https://zcarsource.com/cassette-tape-deck-280zx-79-83-digital-w-o-dolby-used-oem
  17. Yes Richard, and the correct brake line nuts are known as "10mm x 1.0 Fine thread, male, fully threaded, steel nut - SAE flare" "10mm x 1.0 Fine thread, male, fully threaded, steel nut, 16mm long overall. This is the standard Asian style nut used with 3/16"/4.75mm (CNF-3) SAE flared tubing" Info taken from; http://store.fedhillusa.com/metricthreadpitch.aspx
  18. Your link doesn't work for me Gavin "The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may be broken or expired, or you may not have permission to view this page."
  19. I just noticed that the tool has been improved over the one tested in 2013. Step 2 in the Classics Monthly Review is no longer applicable. The tool has a hole through it to act as a window and the stop block can be screwed all the way in. The pipe is then inserted and will align with the line on the tool as shown in my photo below;
  20. Hi Shaun, just giving this a bump to ask how you ended up doing this?
  21. I recently bought L24-189771 I also have L24-189707 (but that is the original engine from my car) and L24-077920 from darellet's '72 240Z which was fitted with a Chev 350 and sold by him in 1989 - current whereabouts unknown.
  22. I hope so - I bought the same tool (without the tube cutter) from eBay for $42 last week; https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-16-Brake-Line-Compact-SAE-Double-Flare-Flaring-Tool-suit-Bundy-Tube-SALE/252975302909?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I chose it on the basis that it seems to be the same as the 'Draper 23312 Expert 3/16" SAE Hand-Held Brake Pipe Flaring Tool' except that the clamping bolts are shorter. I think its also the same as the 'Eastwood On Car Flaring Tool for 3/16 Tubing p/n 31244' and the 'Powerhand Brake Line Flare Tool'. The Draper tool was tested in the February 2013 edition of the UK magazine "Classics Monthly". It scored 9/10 and won the 'Test WInner' and 'Pro Choice' awards in the test. I have not used it yet, but it is certainly a high quality tool. The branded versions usually sell for a lot more. Some user reviews here; http://car-tools.headphoneszone.net/tag/draper-expert-23312-sae-hand-held-brake-pipe-flaring-tool-316-inch-review/

    Flywheel For A 240Z

    Hi locklock, Yes, I am looking for a standard flywheel to suit a 225mm clutch, but 240ZR is hoping to find one for me and he is about 6,600km closer to me.
