  1. That'd be Peter Herlihan, fairly well versed in technical and scrutiny matters.
  2. Is that mdel Soarer on the accepted group 2 sports car lsting that CAMS publshes?
  3. You mean riginal steelies? The ones everyone chucked out all those years ago, when they fitted alloys! What would you be prepared to pay for a set of five?
  4. I'm heading to US later in ear, will have 32 kg luggage allowance. Anyone want something brought back?
  5. Yes, postage to USA s a killer!
  6. Get the metal version, with the slding spring laded outer collar. Positive retention.
  7. Yep, the "billet" axles aint as good as original factory ones,,,,,
  8. They'll fit, no problem, but those tyre sidewall heights will give no sdewall flex, and a harsh ride. Thats the problem with 17's, as many have found out, after spending big $$$, and dont consider what the cars geometry will do when tyres the height of a matchbox are fitted!
  9. 4.6 and 4.8's are common, in utes. The Nissan R180 in 4.375 was a Nsmo Competition part,,and rather rare, even 30 years ago. The higher number of pinion teeth give it better reliability compared to 4.6-5.1's Yes, easier to source a Subaru version, ex Japan, then change the stubs. Check with SWM he was getting a better quality stub made, as, in severe use ( rally/circuit) SWM found the Beta stubs were failing.
  10. No, No, dont, unless you really have to! The tales f woe and misery at getting them out, are all true. After 30+ years in there, they are,,,, reluctant!
  11. Richo, have you worked out how to use/monitr the MyLaps timing system at MP? The website s shite compared to good old Natsoft! When the Historics are on, the event secretary prints off each events results/times/position changes as per Natsoft, we all grab a printed sheet for each event, but, once t hits the MyLas website, there is absolutely no info bar name, event number, and jst a single lap time! Maybe when you are Presdent f WDSCC you will be able to get it working better!
  12. Tried m ing you re strut tops? Message me back.
  13. You wont require ffset tops, the amount you will end up lwering it will have little effect on camber. I pmed you regarding the 240z strut tops!
  14. Normal.
  15. I got a set, can post
  16. Got a set, can post
  17. The K&N filter assembly includes the base mount plate, the filter, and a top cover plate. You'll need two f these, one for each Hitachi/SU The base plate may need a bit of filing r drilling to fit the Hitachi, but they do supply them for British SU's Get them as tall as possible, ( measure clearance, the filter assy will either be round, or oval. Fit say a 50 mm long trumpet so that the filter base plate s held on by the bolts holding the trumpet. Only drama, you are sucking hot air, whereas the stock airbox, with ts smaller standard metal trumpets, can have a larger diam metal snout welded on, and a bit f 3" flex to suck in air from front f radiator. Maybe fit a pid filter out there, and no need to worry about a genuine oval paper filter. Lots f options!
  18. Stck Z arbx base plate with its pressed metal sort of ram tubes are good. Better are tapered lnger machined tubes with at least a hapf roll out at the mouth, ie like a half a donut. Testing by the guys that have to se them has clearly shown they make a difference. Do not then slde a foam sock over t, as that stuffs up the airflow. Fit a tallsh K&N type filter.
  19. They are n an included angle, goes without saying, f they were buiot really high, they join up!

Casey, the stocko unmdfied one will be suitable. You need the vac advance for general around town driving etc.
  21. You can never have enough bits of metal, it all hels keep the car closer to the ground, with all the extra weight.
  22. Just se the regular top bar. It will reduce body shell flex between the towers ( assuming no cage tagged to body shell?) by around 2mm Have you tried fitting/using strain guages at various vector points around this area to then be able to record dynamic data when car s under stress? The SEA boys do this stuff all the time with their SAE Formula Cars, very interesting, they work out just what to construct the cars with! The other pissibility is FEA ( Finite Element Analysis) on all structural parts of the car, uncaged then caged. After all, we are talking Race Cars, it all helps,,,,,,
  23. Oh, and keep the ZX us non lgbooked, at any MP sprints event you may enter, it may sneak in as a "non lgbooked sports car" That'd give you more cars to run alongside of at a sprints group, than if they stick you in with their Spirts Sedan groupings, the MP Sports Sedans are non logbooked, but all get lumped in. Just dont open the bonnet, or, stick on a couple of Nissan badges on the rocker covers,,,,, wait, wut, its a Q60 Infinity motor,,,,,,
  24. Paul Williamson at Opt 1 has thrown together an el-cheapo??, R33 rear wheel drive Skyline Turbo, to run the QR outlaws class One f those but prepped to a CAMS lgbookable class ( not group 2 sports) but either as IPRA, Or the more standard Touring Car, would be feasible. To set it up as a Sports Sedan, under CAMS, does give you a lot more freedoms, and if you just ran it at CAMS/Mrg Park, in just the State rounds, youd be md pack with it. It would?, also qualify to run with Callum, Paul, the Kuligs etc at the Outlaws events they do. If you wanted to run group 2Sports, maybe a change to another manufacturer, Supra, comes to mind as a cheap entry level either 2F or 2B car, plenty get 500hp easily, they may look hysically fat, but could be brought back to your 1100kg tarhet, maybe? Theres no readon why you couldnt get some old sh1tter import Supra, whack a cage in, a seat, harness, throw on some sems, whatever suspension mds allowed, and go 2F. They go bloody hard! Matt, can you suggest other 500hp/1100kg "quick'n'easy 2minute noodles" potential build cars, from the Sports cars lists?
  25. Fun little place! I hold a a Australian Hillclimb Championship record in the Datsun Sports 2000 at 47.2 seconds. Just dont back off ver the finsh line, ease off, well after then brake. Its also the only Hillclimb where you "Hill-Down!" in Australia, twice!
