Go see Craig Hornibrook at Hornibrook Motorsport, in Geebung. On an 8" rim, ideal would be a 225/50x15. He will have plenty, look at Kumho V70A, or he can get in pretty much anything. Small shop, one man operation, low overheads, e lower cost tyres. If you want just run of the mill ( not semis!) go see Option 1 Garage, Remora st Hamilton, they'll have a range of tyres in the 225/50x15. A 205/50 will give you a lower sidewall, and cause the tyre to stretch to fit the 8", and wont be deal.

Yep, Sports Sedans. Go for it. Very strong Qld CAMS series at Morgan Park, you can go play at the back f the pack, and slow Y get used to it, then start knocking them off. Thats what most do, when they start out racing.

Go for the Low version, bear in mind, after 30+ years the stock ones will have sagged a bit, and when you fit the new Low versions, it might not be all that different to what it is now! no. EC comes under CAMS Marque/Group 2 Sports rules, slightly different, and relegates the Z's into a mid/rear of pack contender. Better off to buy a Group S prepped car, and be up in top 10 consistently, much cheaper, and far more racing opportunities around the country. As a bonus, you could fit 8" rims and slicks/low sems, and run the Group S car, in both CAMS Marque or 2B-F as well as in the Sports-GT category. A fellow Group S reguoar ran his at Bathurst last February in the Sports-GT category that was run there, he had a great first time run there!

That category has been running for years, it is AASA/QRO version of the CAMS category known as Group 2, a combination of Marque Sports and 2A/B/ Usually the majority of entrants are CAMS logbooked cars, but logbooks are not required at AASA/QRO, as they are property of CAMS. You should be able to pick yourself up a family car, ie a 260Z 2+2, at a readonable price, get too concerned about the mechanicals, it's the body shell and panels that need to be in good cond! Are you going dirt rallying? If no, then fashion a cardboard template, to fill in between crossmember and front lower rad support, jigsaw a bit of thin alloy up, 12mm will do. The dirt guys use around 8mm, hard to shape, but very effective on big jumps, they also place a bit of sponge foam between sump and plate, as small rocks can lodge in there, and can, and do, puncture the sump pan on heavy landings!

The rally guys usually get a 8mm piece of alloy, cut to a template,shape, with a bit of a fold towards front, going up to lower radiator crossmember, full width, to prevent water ingress, with rear going to just past the gearbox bellhousing bottom lip. May need to weld mounting tabs onto engine crossmember.

It's circuit racing,,,,,, With genuine old original cars! This is a huge meeting, plenty spectators, and very full programme! The thing zccq did last november was just 13 cars following each other around in one group,with four other groups of other random cars also playing follow the leader..gone are the glory days of clubs hiring out Lakesde and rocking up with 80 or so keen members, as was done in 2010!
